I bought the cup system with the snaps a couple of months ago on eBay. The are cheaper and work well, but PPS is better. The great thing is that you can take off the tabs and use a PPS cup over the snap cup. Works great and saves money. Also, you get a cover with filter for every liner just like PPS
many years using pps system. Even the best leaks sometimes. We have set a whole 3m pps case order aside because of leaks and blaming it on a poor production batch/leaking. Our shop has even engineered and produced a collar lock to prevent a twist and compression ejection because we use the bottom feed w/pressure setup for woodwork, furniture and cabinet work. The ppms users must not be a big enough players for 3m not to see our most basic needs and concerns of a great working system that needs some bells and whistles. 3m if your listening, please hire me. I have designed working proto-type collar to lock your cup to the gun so a twist off error is improbable to happen. No longer do I have an old pps cup disengage and material explode/saturate everything in a 10 foot radius.
The clip snap cups look great Tony, just as long as they're slim/even and not super wide, any size is good. That would make the gun more balanced when painting, but if it was really bulky (wide) it would push the gun around when you were painting. Thats why I only use 24oz cups I wouldn't go for the twist on pps style cups if I were you, might lead to people bashing you for copying their system. The snap cups you have look super clean and slim. Don't worry about which sizes or what style. It's great how you have it. If you find a durable way to snap on the cups you'll make good business.
And I would offer 1 snap on lid & 1 shell cup per 10 liners, so for example a package of 2 shell cups, 2 snap lids and 20 liners would be a good starter kit. Good for both basecoat (colored snap on lids) and clearcoat (a clear snap on lids).

Like your dad like mine we learn and hand down what we to other generations we build door slammers here in sunny California small business est. In the 70s I myself and my last remaining Uncle who is 75 and still racing love the pps but changing to your system didn't know thx
I have used the DeKupp system and thought it would be foolproof. It isn't.........The locking details are hidden and you do not have a visual indication that the cup is sealed. You have to turn it upside and look for leaks. Not good! The system that you are developing has many positive features. The Lock system using the PVC or Aluminum would be great and even better with 4 locking tabs. If one locking tab fails you still have 3 in reserve! The cup and filter arrangement also looks great. Again 4 Tabs would be very reliable. I would also suggest the kit have a funnel that is a good tight fit and would prevent an an overflow.
Hey Tony hope all is good. Was fixin to order some quik cups. With 125 micron. But also to make sure, I’d have to remove filter for metal flake correct? Pearls will be ok with filter tho right? Thanks, Pete
Didn't like the PPS system was using today ones got on eBay and the paint had fell out of the cup. Won't be using PPS cups nomore I can't be having paint fall out the cup gonna go use the regular cups. If it wasn't for the PPS system would of been done today. Just got a litte base left. This orange orange cup is out show with the clips look better though the one with no clips won't use again. I might be done tommorow painting my truck I applied primer first but did it on the hole truck as a sealer but did about half the truck. Gonna get some more regular paint cups tommorow though they should make a PPS screw system cup.

@@HowToPaintYourCar lol, well, I did buy an atom x21 1.4 green tip from zoolaa, sprayed for the very first time in my life, gun is fantastic! It was the Ford Molten Orange color, Tri-coat, and all I did was watch all your youtube videos and take notes, Thank You! I did leave a good review with pictures on amazon for the atom x21. Although I did buy that kit from HF and used the bigger gun only with the 1.8 tip to lay down the high build primer, worked ok, zoolaa was out of the 1.8 tips for my atom x21. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/cr/B078Z53WR5/ref=mw_dp_cr
Tony, before I joined VIP I always got an email saying you were going live. I haven't got a invite since. I use dekupps and never had any issues, yes I'm subscribed to your channel with notifications
John B sorry for that sometimes I’m too late in sending out a link to the RU-vid live but if you’re subscribe to the channel with that alert button clicked you’ll get a notification from RU-vid every time I go live!!
So what happen to the better than 3M PPS System? All this info on how to paint your car is not what I am looking for. Iam looking for a better alternative than 3M PPS.
I guess I'm the only person who regrets buying the pps system. Compared to purchasing cups locally, I literally can afford to use and throw away a cheap sprayer for every car.
@@HowToPaintYourCar If you can't make mad profits converting to pps then your probably not able to see the fine details of your hand in front of your face.
