You haven't Reviewed Rotels RCD-1572MKII Yet. You should Review this CD Player. It's 16Ibs and my silver unit is so beautiful. Please do a review on this player, it doesn't sound digital at all.
Kristi is correct ! EverSolo DMP-A6 streamer/dac/preamp is what many of us would like to see reviewed. Yes, like a Hifi Rose but much less expensive. Someone else was confused 😂❤
Great to see how much fun you two are having while making these videos. Also so refreshing to see a lighter side of industry, so many reviewers are making a big deal out of products. As if they are reviewing life saving medical equipment. You two are out here having fun and telling people to relax and enjoy what they have and enjoy the music.
It is the DMP-A6 that you are looking for. It seems to be the DAC of the Z8 without pre amp function. Love you guys❤ Update: It is a preamp .. my bad … plus streamer. Peace out.
The Eversolo looks like a great product and hub for a system. Since you mentioned how saturated the DAC market is right now, you should try a Schiit Bifrost 2/64 or Yggdrasil. They actually are doing some next-level digital engineering with those.
I have both a Topping 70s and a Bifrost 2 DAC in my system and I have demo'ed a number of different DACs. It seems like DACs are a fairly subtle component, at least on lower to mid-end systems and likely not al the panacea that most people think it is P.S. baby monitor - are you hinting there's a 3rd audiophile coming to the channel? 😮
Seems like you should try DACs with a different architecture before writing off DACs, like if you like the Modi you could try the new Modi Multibit 2 and see if the Multibit architecture sounds any good to you, and then there’s more expensive options that might be interesting like those from Denafrips, Gustard, or Holo Audio that may sound much better in a way the Naim would not
These days i just use my FiiO X3 II as a dac and I'm perfectly happy with it. It sounds great. Sure, its not a dedicated unit. But it does the job as well as I want it too. As an added bonus, its also a DAP. So i get the same sound on the go.
Great review! I appreciated the huge spectrum of gear you tested with the DAC. I am not in the market for a DAC (apologies for the reference, but you would have to pry the Pontus II from my cold dead hands), but the streamer/DAC version would be a top choice for me in its price range. Keep up the great work you two :)
Another great video from you guys. However, oops from me because I recently purchased the Eversolo DMP-A6, which Andrew pointed out as the latest "thing" that folks are raving about and yes it`s fully justified, at its price point. As for wanting 10,000 likes for this video to get Kristi in front of the camera, Mr Robinson, I reckon you're risking domestic harmony should you insist. As much as we`d love to see Kristi, she`s a tough cookle and I don`t think 20,000 likes will persuade her otherwise.😊
I stopped wasting money on DAC’s and Streamers in just one hit. Get a Lyngdorf and you’ll stop chasing the products and start listening to the music. Best product ( besides my speakers ) I’ve ever owned and I’ve owned a truck ton.
Great video! I am definitely buying an EverSolo product. Only question is if I get this one or the DMP-A6 streamer (which has HDMI, two opticals, and a bigger screen). The regular A6 is a white noise machine apparently, that helps you sleep. How random is that for them to do as a niche offering aside from the DACs/Streamers. Either way, digging this new brand. Thanks for the video!
That's true, but imho, before buying any piece of gear, I usually try to consider what's my final goal, and doing some math. Sometimes, adding up equippment at a later stage can become as expensive as buying the right product in the first place, ending up with less separate gear and better integration, making it easier to use. I'm not saying this specifically about this product or a HDMI audio extrator (I'm thinking on a broader scale, since convenience ultimately makes the end-user enjoying the product more often). 🙂
I love your review on the Eversolo dac. I currently use the eversolo DMP-A6 streamer wich I absolutely love. Works like a charm with the looks of the Hifi Rose but for a better price and without the bugs. I can't wait for you to review the A-6. I'm curious if the Z-8 would be a welcome adition to my A-6 as an upgrade of the dac chips? Greatings Stefan from the Netherlands
The next EverSolo product to review is the DMP-A6. It has HDMI input and built in audio streaming. I just wonder if it is as good of a DAC (probibly is).
It has an HDMI output not input - so you can output via HDMI to an AVR for example. But other than that it's an amazing streamer. Replaced my Sonos Port with it and it's been just amazing.
Interesting. Thx. I’d be interested to hear what you have say about the Eversolo DMP-A6 streamer (I like it) and it’s DAC vs. the DAC in the Z8 and others.
Not quite 2 years ago I upgraded my stand alone CD player to a transport/DAC set up. (Audiolab 6000 CDT + Musical Fidelity V-90). As a DAC the V-90 has all I need as far s connectivity is concerned. It is also nicely priced between the Cambridge DAC Magic 100 and 200. It suits my purposes.
Nice review and don't worry I haven't even bought an external DAC yet. I was eye-balling the Eversolo A6 Streamer and I wonder what sort of chip and circuitry are in its' DAC. Keep up the good work and enjoy the music.
Okiii, when you answered me about Eversolo, it was about the DAC Z8 🤷♂️i bought de DMP-A6 Master Édition 😂 in addition, i bought the WEISS 204 DAC. Still waiting for both 🤌
If you keep buying everything Steve Huff guesses about, you’re going to go broke - cuz EVERY product he reviews is the BEST of its kind and BLOWS AWAY the last thing that he said the same thing about. That guy’s so far up his own ass, it’s ridiculous. What ever happened to his “end game” “forever” speakers that he replaced with his other end game, forever speakers - the Fleetwood DeVilles and DeVille SQs? Gone and mysteriously replaced by a pair of Focal Diablos with nary a word about where they went and where the Focals came from. You know he receives most of those products for “free” and then sells them on the used market, right? Not that there’s necessarily anything wrong with that, but his lack of transparency is quite troubling.
I have the DMP-A6 - superb - and had been contemplating getting the Weiss DAC 204 as well. Whereas the DMP-A6 received unanimous high praise, there is some variability in reviewer thoughts on the Weiss 204 albeit all positive. Would love to hear your thoughts when you get them both! 🙏
Great review ! I do like to keep my digital "chain: separate from my analog "chain" due to obsolescence issues of anything digital especially DACs.. I do agree with Kristi though and I prefer integrated units due to its practicality.
I liked this video a lot ,and to be honest not for the eversolo particularly (even as...I'm curious either about this product )but mostly for the talk and the fun and the general analysis..also I do like to see...the..other eversolo reviewed ,just for fun ! Thank you
Again, Andrew is selling me salt while stranded in the ocean. 🤦🏼♂️ Or to put it so people understand, "selling me sand at the beach." I take your thoughts to heart. I am looking for a DAC. Don't know if I need one or but you sold me on this. Kristi absolutely has me looking for a nighttime music companion. ❤ Thanks guys. Love it.
Smsl su1 supports mqa no frill $80 DAC it beats there $400 dacs for what you can really honestly hear I think it's all most people really need unless they have a $50000 setup how much difference are people going to even notice. Of course they are going to show us new shiny objects to spend our money on even if we don't need it.
I have an EverSolo Z8 and I love it. I think it sits on the sweet spot in the dac world. To have a much better sound you need to spent may be $1000 more. I have one more DAC in mind which I am very curious is the Gustard A26 DAC which also has streaming capability with Roon Ready end point. I will appreciate if you could also review that if you can.
I am just glad I can't tell the difference between a $9000 dac and $90 dac! I actually pity those who can hear a difference. That probably means they can hear the short comings of that $9000 dac. Completely keeps them from enjoying the music.
It's easy to hear the difference between a 9000$ dac and a 90$ one providing you hook them on a good hifi soundsystem. I recently did a very nice upgrade changing my Rega DAC-R with an used Ayre QB-9: The difference is evident. The Rega DAC-R is a best buy in the 1000$ range. Paid 1000$ for the used Ayre DAC-R and yes, i enjoy my music so much on it! My amp is the Rega Elex-R hooked to a pair of Ryan R-610. My friend bought the same DAC with similar results on his Krell KRC-3 / KSA-100s combo hooked to a pair of Dynaudio (don't remember the model). Anyway, the important thing is whatever the system you have, pleasure of listening and enjoying music is all that matters! And don't forget, better DACs and soundsystems usually don't help if source material is bad, on the contrary it reveals all the flaws.
Hi Andrew, Thanks for another lovely review. Please consider reviewing the denafrups Aeres 12th 🙏 Am also not into the whole DAC hype but i would love to hear your opinion about the musicality of this particular one. I have no way to try it in person here in Dubai Thanks
I've hit the "like" button and I'm looking forward to Kristi fronting the review for the baby monitor, concentration helping, white noise, sound machine, whateveritis 😆
The A6 sets itself apart with little competition: it's a good DAC, but also a very good streamer and passable headphone amp. Kristi is right, it's a very attractive product. (In fact I watched the video mistakenly thinking it was about the streamer-dac-hpamp combi)
Wait! Companies can sell products with great performance without the need for a second mortgage? Would love to see the Zidoo Neo Alpha reviewed to see if it’s performance matches the Z8 while providing the features the Z8 lacks.
BRING it Kristi! lol, no as that is not your idea of fun. A great DAC has I2s not HDMI and is galvanicly isolated so you get what you pay for in a resolving system. My system is NOT needing that much quality I have the Marantz SACD/DAC player and for me works. After the walk through at PS Audio I was sorely tempted but those systems are so neutral that there is no way.
Great review ... Good dac with good measurements...bring in the A6 ! 10k likes ...Kristi you might be safe, but if word gets out....smile, you're on your hubby's camera!!!!😊
I think it is great that these Chinese companies get reviewed. Some seem to have problems with it, but i do not get that. Solid engineering for sure maybe putting some pressure on prices of the established brands.
Hello Andrew and Kristi, great video. Looks like an awesome dac. So I will go and get 9900 different profiles to help get Kristi on camera. It might take the rest of the year though. 😊 You two both have a great week.
I recently purchased the Cambridge Audio CXNv2 and decided to connect my older Marantz CD6003 CD player via the Digital Coaxial port and quite frankly I can't hear any difference at all between the Twin Wolfson's of the CXNv2 and the Cirrus Logic CS4398 of the Marantz. Personally I think the whole of the DAC market is snake-oil.
You are totally off base here. Yes, some dacs sound similar but most do not, especially when you get above $1.5k or more in price. Also, you may need to have more revealing electronics and more. Your source material also needs to be of higher quality. Same goes for usb cables. I have reviewed many dacs, amps, usb cables and most sound different. Usb cables are dac. dependent.
I think your right with the likes of say Audiolab 6000cdt at £400 and with a rega dac at £400 my £100 old Arcam Alpha 7se of ebay was better there's alot of hype in the hifi world
Newbie here. People are recommending that I get a blue sound streamer to plug into my Rotel Michi x3 amp. But others are recommending I get a separate Dac like this one. What should I get and if a DAC like this, how would I connect to my amp? Thanks!
Get both a streamer a crack DAC in one it seems according to the buzz on social media with the Eversolo DMP-A6. I admit to not knowing personally as I've never seen or heard one. I just read mostly these days.
Awwww, I was hoping that you were talking about the eversolo 900 dollar streamer. I would definately use this preamp/dac at my desktop, but in my main listening setup, no tone controls or eq is almost a deal breaker.
@@andrewrobinsonreviews I don't know, but that requirement would be if I were interested in using as pre-amp. I'm interested in it as a streamer. It seems to an alternative to HiFi rose at less cost.
R-2R (and multibit) DACs are one of the most dramatic upgrades you can make if you are trying to get the best out of your analog components. I’m not saying you have to go multi-kilobuck, but there’s magic in that old school tech. The fact that both Andrew and Kristi both poo-poo DACs just means that I don’t listen like they do. Fwiw, the differences between DACs are more obvious with headphone gear.
I read somewhere else that you can only out put thru one of the analog outputs, either RCA or XLR at a time. Can someone confirm one way or the other? Can both sets of outputs be used simultaneously?
Though I liked your video very much, you are confusing two products that Eversolo produces. One is the A6, in other word the EverSolo DMP-A6 Streaming DAC. The other is a white product that Eversolo makes called the Eversolo Sleep Therapy Sound Machine - All Natural White Noise for Sleep Include Wind, Rain, Stream, Ocean - Ten White Noises Support Mix- Wireless Speaker.
Waiting for that-white-baby-making or whatever thing. And Rotel RC-1590 + RB1590 or MICHI P5 S2 + S5. Please, please, plese. We need something +300W per channel. We need something big. And it's not an OLED LG or whatever TV ^^'
A DAC will only convert the digital signal to analogue which you would connect to your amplifier/receiver. If you want to stream you would still need a device that can send the digital signal from the streaming service of choice to the DAC. This DAC has Bluetooth so you can send the signal to the DAC that way. A better option would be something like the streamers from Wiim that sell for around $100. The combo would still be cheaper than the DMP-A6 from Eversolo that is a DAC and streamer combined.
I new at this stuff, but I have a HT 7.4.4 how do I ad something like this to my set up. I use my marantz sr8012 for music. Would this sound better? Is it an easy setup.
@@andrewrobinsonreviews thanks for the reply and sorry for the confusion. I mean the new soundbar system they announced at CES 2023, I was wondering if you guys attend, you should already try it out ~ it is in my No.1 buy list of 2023 tech products. I tried Sony HT-A9 with SW5, nice sound but poor connection. I want a product that can Plug and use but with good sounds and features.
