im gonna guess that rocket mode cuts off as its just briefly using the peak rating for the pack. if it was kept on you run the risk of hitting thermal cut off limits of whichever cells they are using. As annoying as it is, thats quite a good safety feature.
@@ericklein5097They are using LG M50LT cells, which rate at 7A each (max burst 10A) and in 20S7P config, that is pitiful (yes they SAY BMS max is 85A normal and 150A turbo burst, but that don't mean cells can supply that). EBMX told me the tune they are working on for it is struggling to add much given the top end current out of this pack limitations...
Pretty cool to you realize the front forks/suspension is a meager little mountain bike setup.....first time you case that front-end you're going over the bars for sure....
You're tripping those front stantions are probably close to 45mm with 200mm of travel. Most high end full supension bikes (used for trails not downhill) run 120-150mm of travel lol that is 100% dirtbike suspension if anything EXTREMELY nice downhill forks not to mention theyre inverted..
The bike looks great and seems to rip, but when I hear it kills a SURRON it make me wonder. Surron is a brand name, so what Surron model is it being compared to? SURRON has the Light bee, Light bee X, Ultra bee and Storm bee on the market.
Get a used dirt bike on the marketplace And have a buddy that's a good welder weld a bracket for your 72v mid drive motor and the hardest part is done ✅ after that get a controller and battery based on what your needs are Also replacement parts will always be available. Always! If a ebike company shuts down. Good luck finding replacement parts( seriously 😂).But this is a nice bike plus side is it's an Apollo those parts will always be around ( Honda clone parts probably!) 😂
I get that rocket mode lasting a few seconds is a precaution so the motor or battery doesn't get burnt out or the rider doesn't hurt themselves but i feel like they should've let it last a bit longer. Since they was able to program it to do that then i assume the curious and savvy person can undo that restriction.
Hey Jack what is that music in the beginning. I've been looking for that style like the song opium. Thanks big fan from way back. Good to see your still producing content
If the seat and plastics were a bit lower down from the bars it'd be good to stunt but you could get smaller forks and get wider smaller tyres to build a freestyle street stunt bike build aswell
This one looks super nice and with some good power behind it, would love to see you hack this one to unlock it's full potential, like getting it to stay in rocket mode all the time and unlocking the speed limiter , I think it would take it to another level specially being a 100lb bike 👍👍
After seeing multiple vids of Ebikes catching fire. I believe if they can make the bike's with a quick battery release system so if there is a fire, you can kick a lever and allow the battery to unplug and drop too the ground. Saving the bike from damage.
I think for proper testing of this bike it should be tested in different climates. Ohio would be an excellent test site. I would be more than happy to do one of those tests. Lol.
Since you have superbee wish you would park next to this for size comparison. Also surron releasing superbee ultra which should be similar in size. Ps. Man your property is dope as hell! I love all the Kei trucks you have!!!
In the UK there are INCH-PERFECT-TRIALS that use the New Electric TRIALS bikes and they are Brilliant, You can get 1 with an Clutch so when you Need to Rev the Motor [WITHOUT TAKING OFF] You can Hold in the Clutch Rev the Motor and release the Clutch to JUMP up obstacles. E-MOTION i think the Manufacturer is in Europe. The Best E-BIKE i have seen yet [Like an SURRON/TALARIA] Is the E-RIDE-PRO SS,As it has already got EVERYTHING you would put on a Standard Surron 60V.
You have to remember the surroundings like a bicycle would let you get away with a lot more looks like a full on dirtbike. You might as well buy a dirtbike.👀
Been a fan for few years now. No hate but curious if you still want to post car content? Been watching long enough to understand you post based on what you want, not for views or money...just would love a car update. Either way love your channel
Make rocket mode is like my 750watt bagang mid drive motor difference is it doesn't cut out after 10 seconds it didn't cost me more than £800 including the battery and I got to choose the bike i put it on .these thing's cost way way way too much
TLDW (Too Long, Didn't Watch) version: From Apollo. 120 lbs (he says 115 - 120 lbs, makes me wonder if he actually put it on the scale). 12kw rated (Surron 5kw). 72v (Surron 60v). Price = same as Surron. Rear tire 18", front 19". I'm skeptical about the thing, since it's a pre-release version. What will the price actually be? Weight? This thing is slightly bigger and has wider tires and a hotter engine/battery, hmmmm, I'll believe the weight when I see it scale verified. Range is questionable. Tortoise mode gives 2 hours, supposedly; rabbit mode (supposedly feels like 5kw Surron) is next mode up and ostensibly gives less time. I'm excited by the thing but want to see the real specs.
@@northernadventurer160 Yup, definitely not impressed with the presentation. In his other video he says the price is $5-6000, which is not the same as Surron. So, there are lots of things being glossed over.
Thanks for posting. REALLY looking forward to info on potential upgrades/tuning (especially info in additional cooling/thermal control for the motor & controller which might be needed to stay in "rocket" mode). How did you order this bike? Is there a USA distributor yet?
Look up sur ronster on RU-vid because he’s all about the modded up electric bikes, full size step through electric scooters and full size electric dirt bikes and pit bikes as well to
Looks great! I had to watch the video twice to hear who makes it though. Now I have to see if you have any more videos on it... Apollo you say? RFN is the model? Must google that!
I would say if it only weighs a mere 120 lbs, it is not much bigger than a Surron. My black Terminator is much smoother riding and it keeps up with traffic real easy here in Metro Detroit. Itis an Enduro, made for both on and off roadd....looks 2x better too
I think this is def the future. And I'm a huge dirt bike guy. But I've ridden an electric bike. They are amazing. It's just longevity. What's funny is the could make an X version of electric bike. But the keep making them for crazy performance. If they designed a Bike to be electric, but more in the 225lb range rather than the 150-175 range. they would get the longevity that guys like myself are looking for. 3.5-4hrs. I would consider it then.
It's a good thing I made a quick video scan. I though this video is about the bike specially how it performs. But you attached the cam to your body and what I will be watching is where your going not the bike.. Someone should be taking the video and do a panning or use a drone.
If you hacked the software and could keep it in rocket mode all the time you would have squat for range, it will eat up the battery reserves and likely overheat the motor and or controller... theres a reason why they limit it.. but sure looks fun!
I like it just because it's not a surron and small and I'm glad you said you have the fastest surron at 85 but I really need to know that 1/4 mile time. top speed doesn't win races I'm asking cuz I wanna know if you have the fastest ebike.
man, i really wanna jump on the electric bandwagon here because of weight and instant torque. but until they are similar in price AND POWER ima take the cheaper faster option. but damn if they arent coming along fast
You kept saying we will get to that🤣🤣 this was a great rundown on this bike man it is very cool and beginner mode that's a great spot for first timers it's got plenty of power it seems to be pretty badass💪🏽💪🏽💚👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
For the torque and size of wheel 45 mph isn't bad at all my old lmx p2 on 72v does 45 mph it can't go much faster even with gearing. this looks a bit more powerful so gearing down may help or get a higher kv motor for more speed
Yea it's an interesting comparison. The ultra bee should be faster out of the box, but the Apollo is around 50lbs lighter, so with some tweaking it could be quicker. Price is also about 1k cheaper than the ultra bee
Apollo Has impressed me with their Pitbikes and now with this! Do you know if the speeds can be changed on the fly while moving? or does the bike need to be stopped?
