Many people will disagree but for me bigger is better. I would choose a bigger screen over a better definition anytime. I don't own a TV for years and my main media display is a projector. It's flat on the wall, can adapt to many room, easy to transport and much cheaper than any TV of the same screen size.
I really enjoy this channel’s reviews. Big part of why I picked up this projector. Overall, I’m happy with the purchase, but there are 2 cons I haven’t seen any RU-vid reviewers mention: #1 There’s an annoying light bleed issue if you use the virtual Zoom, so I would recommend using it modestly or not at all. #2 If you’re using an external sound system via HDMI ARC, you’ll need to go into the sound settings and select ARC every time you use it. Otherwise the sound will default to the internal speakers. This was particularly annoying b/c the only way to access the Sound Output setting is to hold the settings shortcut button on the remote. For some reason, it’s not accessible if you navigate to settings via the onscreen menu.
Do you plug the projector in every time or is this permanently plugged in? Wonder if it resets the settings on a power cycle or not and if that is the cause of your issue
@@badbradmx I plug it in each time so that’s a possibility. I haven’t unplugged it since my last use however, so I’ll see what happens the next time I power it on.
@@raphaeldelaghetto85 well if you remember, let me know the outcome as that sort of issue would be a deal breaker for me, if constant power solves it then considering the investment
@@badbradmx Unfortunately keeping it plugged in didn’t solve the problem. I still had to go to the sound Output option in the menu and manually select ARC.
No mention on what the Usb ports can be used for ? Can you hook up a external hard drive to it and watch home movies off it ? Also throw distance . How far away does it have to be for a 120 inch screen ? How big of a screen can be used ?
The concept of a high quality projector like this one interests me over a TV because it lends itself to be far more flexible for entertaining. Indoor or Outdoor, it lends itself equally.
Great video. I watched this on a oled 4k TV and the image from the projector looked high quality. It's nice to see how far projector tech has come. Thx!
It is supposed to look better in real life. You will not be able to capture SPD of this. Of course i would still use LG OLED with Dolby Vision and stuff.
@Louis Williams you do understand every pixel has 4 subpixels there? There is no crystal effect, you cannot see pixels. DPI is indeed 86 only, but the effect is as if you are on 300 DPI. Of course 500 DPI galaxy smartphones will still be better... But...
Would like to see a more hard core test of its throw adjustment - like if you take it mobile you might end up in a very cramped situation with a super short throw distance - can it be a few feet from the wall and project a super small image ?
I have brought it on vacation, placed it aprox 3 meters from a wall and I experienced no problems with the quality. The built in speaker system really made a difference and the fact it fit in my backpack with everything else including a laptop👍
I have XGIMI H1 projector which is three years old. Working fine. It’s amazing. My configuration is XGIMI H1 projector Bose LS 650 with two sub 5.2Ch. ZIDOO 4K media player. Amazon 4K fire TV Stick All above giving me a theatre like experience in my home.
Where do you have the projector positioned? Was it challenging to hook up a sound system, ie- cords all over the place? It's why I would consider an ultra short throw projector, so that there aren't cords leading from a rear projector to front of the room. I can't put them in the walls.
There's a lot of spam in both description and comments which is disappointing. What I really wanted to to see was real life performance upscaling 1080p sources, or in fact how 1080p really looks. Do I need to find non-infomercial videos for that?
That projector is freaking awsome. I reviewed it a few weeks ago. its so good. My only gripe is audio could be ore punchy but else it rocks. Nice review
lg hu70la vs cosmos max pro vs xgimi horizon pro how is the led king? picture quality only the sound isn't relevant because 4k projector deserves a good soundbar in my opinion
@@StopWars420 Those "idiots" are the reason your gaming industry even exists. If everyone bought all games on Steam discount, there would be - _could_ be - no new AAA games.
@@darthkek1953 first of all games are created on PC. Second steam discounts don't occur until the games past it's prime. Shows what you know because console gamers are suckers that know nothing about technology.
Lights and sunlight create two different results for viewing. The question is are the colors strong enough to watch when the blind is up and the sun is out .?
Good review , i have the H1 still going strong connected to chrome cast and its doing a great job for me for the moment , i like this new projector though .
Any ideas how to make room switching less annoying due to the fat powersupply-adapter? I switch rooms a lot to firm wall mounts and I wish I could firmly install/mount cables/power supply as well.. However I cant find separate power bricks to buy? Or what do I have to look for? Any 220 watt bricks?
When I go through the keystone correction, the areas that are "cut off" are still bright with light. Sure, there's no image there, but there's light from the projector. Is this normal? It doesn't look like yours does it.
I bought this product 2 months ago. It had two white dots and I asked the support team and they told me that these were missing pixels. They knew the problem right away. From my research, I know that the missing pixels won't go away and its number could continuously grow. The xgimi support team told me that I should pay for the return shipping fee. Wow. The product was defective from the first place and I have to pay for the shipping fee of &18? It's not a matter of the amount of shipping fee. It's a responsibility matter. The manufacturer who produced this defective product should be responsible for its after-care. I used this product very carefully and it gave me the missing pixels problem. How much more should I babysit this product to not have this kind of problem? I will never buy their product ever again.
I need this , just wish it was brighter then it's a hell of a deal ! The technology is high class I still have my H1 and it's been 6 years in use almost 8 hours everyday , ofc the Android is outdated but with the Google Chromecast with Google tv or shield tv your good to go!
looks great, my concern is seeing friends who kept going through bulbs every few months until they couldn't get them anymore...they spent as much time with temporary 24" tv on the shelf as they did projecting..
I remember there being bulb issues in the early days of home projection but I think that's long been an issue of the past. I have had only projectors in the house for 10 years and have not needed to replace a bulb yet; they are available if needed. We watch movies almost daily and have several thousand hours on each one. Newer tech is using laser light in lieu of bulbs but those are typically quite pricey.
Anyone who is burning out bulbs every few months on their projector is buying junk projectors and or do not have proper ventilation for their projector. They might never shut it off. Projectors (Home) are not designed to run continuously. With a projector you should not run it more than 6 or so hours at a time because doing that will greatly decrease the life of the bulb. A TV and a projector are 2 entirely different things. Most people will use their TV 90% of the time and use their projector to watch movies on it, not stuff like the news, sitcoms. Some people buy gaming projectors for playing video games. Your friend needs to stop and think about how to properly use a projector.
I have this, and it is great, but truly lacks one important option, hdmi output cannot be set automatically when power on, cheap android projectors have that, but owning shield tv I really need that option available, I wish they include that on next firmware upgrade.
İn the future you wont need any equipment, just vr glasses that have normal glasses shape and automatically programs will occur in front of your eyes. RU-vid, messages.. and then you will be able to select a RU-vid screen and then enlarge the screen as you want on your house wall. Just putting the screen that virtually occured via vr glasses, into the wall and enlarging it as big as you want. İf you want you can put other screens on other walls like messages, images, Chrome etc etc. Left wall messages right wall Office work opposite wall a big big video screen that plays a video or movie.
This looks amazing, what's the voltage on the powerbrick? In an RV, it would be nice to run a dedicated feed using a variable stepdown converter and just eliminate the bulky brick.
this is def on the short list for my projector replacement. I wish they would just ditch the built in speakers tho. pretty sure most go with a soundbar or surround once you have a 120" you'll never go back!!
It looks and sounds amazing, my only issue with a projector is the placement in the room. As an example if I wanted it in my bedroom to project on the wall at the foot of my bed, I would have to place the projector on my headboard, and that’s not going to work.
Yes you can! The optimal size for brightness is around 60 inches but you totally can go to 300 inches! Just be aware that the larger you go, the more lumins of brightness you lose.
Just not usable during the day in my opinion. Thats the only issue I have. The blurryness of th eimage isnt even a big deal its just that I literally cant see the picture if theres light. Im someone who thinks sunlight in your house is an absolute must
Which is the better projector in your opinion, this or the JMGO N1? I've almost backed that on kickstarter like 5 times but I really can't decide which is the better projector. Please do a comparison video before they all run out on kickstarter
Awesome video buddy. Can you recommend a min 100 inch screen with your experience? Both medium and high end please. Also how does this projector play regular HD - is it great as well? Finally is it the best 4K in terms cost, built in battery, brightness and picture quality? Lots of questions but much appreciated buddy.
@all things tech Would you recommend XGIMI Horizon 1080p or the EPSON EF12? Criteria are the picture quality, contrast and brightness at 100''-120''' 0.8 gain screen, moderate to low ambient light in room, with option for blinds.
@@FlauntAarna yes, I got the XGIMI 1080p Horizon. And I love it! It is powerful enough for viewing in shaded room during the day. But I have in a dark basement and then the colours are great and not at all washed out! I have a 106" grey screen with gain 0.8 so the blacks are really black. Yes the contrast and saturation is not OLED TV level. But 106" makes all the difference and fun. The built in speakers are really loud and with some base but they are mono. In the centre of room. So it better to have stereo speakers via Bluetooth anyway.
@@FlauntAarna No need for 4K seriously! With screen size at over 90" (in my case 106") you need to sit at a distance of approximately 3.5-4 meters. You will only see resolution difference if you are really close to the screen. I am very happy. Save the money difference for screen or speakers.
