A lot of newer cars are equipped with wildly bright LED headlights and since so many people drive SUV's and trucks nowadays those headlights are shining right in the eyes of anyone unfortunate enough to still be in a sedan/hatchback/wagon/non-raised vehicle.

It happens here too!! Anytime I'm out driving at night EVERY FREAKING CAR has their beamers on!! It's f*cking infuriating!

to be fair driving in texas is scary, the few times i drove there no turn signals, 98% full size trucks, and rows of drive thru liquor stores

Yeah I freaking hate when everyone at night blinds everyone else on the road but what really grinds my gears is when people don’t understand stop signs and right of way. There’s an intersection right by my house where there’s a diagonal street with a stop sign, a main road and an intersecting side road with a stop sign. Almost Everyone on that diagonal road pulls out into oncoming traffic like they own the street.

I have a theory that it's because the driver's Ed classes aren't teaching the different symbols that represent normal lights and high beams for cars right now They only tech you that you don't use your high beams at night but not which symbol on a dash relays that information

They're called Matrix LEDs, and they SUUUCK. They're supposed to adapt to oncoming traffic, but they don't.

Its not high beam, It’s because everyone tilts their light up rather than down at the road. It’s a thing, look it up.

I found the same problem here. You're driving in the city that has lots of street lights and lit up signage. You don't f***ing need your high beams on!😡🇨🇦

The worst thing we have here in NC are the squatted trucks. Though they have tried to outlaw it in the state, there are still a fair number of pickups and SUVs I see that are squatted so their back ends are lower than their front ends. This makes is so even when they aren't using their high-beams, you're still getting blinded by the lights angling up directly into your eyes. That or I get jacked up pickups or larger vehicles with those brighter blueish headlights that always either ride right behind me or next to me in a way that their lights are blinding me in my mirrors. I also see a lot of bad drivers who just don't give a damn anymore. No matter where I go, pretty much everyone speeds. Heck, I live on back country wooded farm roads where deer and bear are always crossing and I have people fly past me going like 60-70mph easy...even in no-passing areas. And every 5-6 months, I always see dead deer in the road with no signs that people have tried to avoid them or anything. It's like they just plow through them and keep on going.

Oh this isn’t just Austin anywhere within 2 hoursof Austin and San Antonio people use their bright lights regardless of how much light is out either sun or street lamps.

i'm with Gus where i live a lot of people don't dim their lights to oncoming traffic, that a law and i alway hope that one day they will do it to a cop and get a ticket

This is why I don't drive

As a walker/bike rider, they are ALL terrible. Some just more than others. Can't count how many times I've almost been mowed down by some guy bursting through the changing light or running a red light.
