Check the grapes to see if they glow. I love Tampa I lived there briefly in the 80's then moved to Miami when the art deco hotels still stood on the beaches. I'm sure it's all changed I don't live there anymore but loved the time I did.
I had a surprise experience with smelly old stuff about 30 years ago when I was helping a family member clean out their Aunt's apartment. She had been a chain smoker for probably 50 years before she passed away. Everything smelled like smoke so most of the things were ruined. The TV was a newer model than ours so we decided we would keep it. After all how could a portable TV smell bad. We loaded it up in the van and headed home from Alhambra, CA to San Diego, CA. We didn't even drive 10 miles and the TV smell had taken over the entire van. We rolled down the windows and tried to air it out. It smelled so bad we drove directly to the dump in San Diego and got rid of it.
Not sure why the goodwills here keep stocking more and more dollar store style stuff. I never see anyone purchasing it when I visit- everyone is fighting over the 2 aisles of actual donations and the searching throuhh the massive aisles of clothes!
I calll Goodwill "Ill Will" for cause. The run them like for-profit stores and treat help and customers like dirt. Jack up prices and take most things worth buying out of the stores, selling them on line and locking out the disadvantaged who they're supposed to be helping. They don't sell pallets of dollar store merch here; they sell Target clearance instead. The indie stores here are the only ones I find much in. They're putting in a new GoodWill near by, but under the same regional management. I'm not holding out much hope.
I agree with you on the pricing they mark it way up then half price it for sale or they start showing ebay prices for items that have not been sold. Wishful thinking for sure. Have a great day
Good evening, George! I liked those pool balls, but what I'd really like to have is an old croquet set. Those hair receivers were pretty. A collection of them would be nice. Those looked like fun places to browse. Not a lot that caught my eye, though. Thanks for the take-along!
I wish I'd kept just one of the croquet sets I've had over time! Hair receivers fascinate me and a collection would be nice. I agree that this trek was more of a browse than buying, but I have so much stock at present that it's probably okay if I'm selective!
@@TheAntiqueNomad I've no idea where I'd put a croquet set, but I've always wanted an old wood set. We have a few hair receivers here. A couple are R S Prussia, and one of them has the "hidden figure" on the lid. Those can be a bit hard to find. It always pays to be selective!
@@TheAntiqueNomad Glad all is well , when you have a minute really really need help identifing my art deco vase , as I stated early, went through every avenue,,,, no luck
