Imo I think it's a good thing to stay a lil' indifferent to the whole "this is better" shite. Its hard to top the OG's start, not just in Castlevania but media in general. Its one of the better starts in a series by execution. Nocturne is...weird sometimes, but I felt it got pretty good in later episodes. So I'm willing to hold that thought for the series's progression and not really wanna think of the OG series doing this or that better.

Castlevania S1 has a slower burn than S1 of Nocturne, HOWEVER the story is top tier. So be prepared for a lot more dialogue and exposition vs action, but it all pays off in the end!!! You’ll definitely love it.
