The SPR67 is Akko’s second take on a premium compact 65% that aims primarily on the QK65 and Zoom65 market. It features quite a unique mounting system using springs as opposed to gaskets, but is it really a great innovation or just a gimmick to make it stand out of the crowd? Let’s find out!

I don't have a qk 65 but I do have a qk 60 and several other budget and high end 65's. I picked up the spr67 for around 100 bucks brand new on Akko's website and it easily beats all the budget 65's I've ever tried by a mile. It comes with stabs, plates, and all those spring configuration options.. truly a bargain. I found the install a little difficult though so it might not be for first time keeb builders, but I suppose we all have to start somewhere. In terms of sound I think the board is fine for the low cost. If you're chasing high end sound then you'd probably not want a flex cut PCB to begin with and should opt for a higher end board anyways. In terms a feel it's truly hard to beat this board, I way prefer this mounting system over any gasket mount, it's so easy to just crack the board open and replace the springs with a different weight.

You can really see the bounce while you was putting in the keycaps. So my take on this, i wouldn't really say its a gimmick but it needs more work and needs to answer the question "why" "why do you want a spring mounting, do you really need flex and bounce" I really agree with you on the flex cuts, it can really thin out the sound of the board. But hey nice to see Akko implementing something different, but you know I want to see akko do a bakeneko style an oring mount keyboard with the design of this. I really love the accent on the middle part of the board remind me of a keycult

An using SPR67 with Gateron baby Raccoon Switches and Akko Blue on white Keycap set. It's perfect for me. I liked the creamy thocky touch to it.

In terms of flex and bounce, it has more options for that, as well as it's sound characteristics. But if you're in for the case/color options, I'd still go with the QK65

According to the support they're here to limit the movement of the 'core body' but can be used without it, it's up to the user preference and I've been told some users prefer not using them. Though it could be just an excuse since one of them doesn't screw in and they're not selling replacement part, so take it with a grain of salt.

I think keyboards are too subjective to take two 65 % boards in the same price range in this day and age and honestly say for everyone that one board is definitely better than another. It's a lot more accurate to say I prefer this board because of XYZ reasons. Just saying QK65>SPR67 doesn't really make sense if you're not going to list any points about why.
