👋 Hey Fam. Any reasonable person understands you have to make the best decision for the three of you. Just food for thought, if you were able to do a Class B or C, and got rid of the truck, it could be much more affordable. Since you're looking at new construction homes, inquire about adding onto your garage. Most have a 2-3 ft bump out option or oversized garage option that would could fit a smaller RV in it. That way, you don't have to worry about storage or HOA rules about it being parked in the driveway. 💲 Since Don is a numbers cruncher, you can calculate the cost of the additional garage space vs RV storage fees and Grace, 🚘 over time.

Be very careful with the HOA's, ours will not allow a camper van of any size in the driveway. Some HOA's you can't even park a car in the driveway, cars have to be inside the garage!

Hey Pegi and the Don. Have you thought about getting DJ a stroller so you can continue the walk with Pegi after 1 mile? I’m so glad you guys posted a video today. Nothing is on TV worth watching. Buy some land in a neighborhood that does pay for HOAS. When I bought my house in Maryland, I made sure I looked for no HOAS. My neighbor stores his boat in his yard and it is out the way where you can’t see it.

I also think that if you entertain, it may be a little awkward to put the bed down and pick it back up because you have guest.

My first time seeing two BIG BLACK BUMBLEBEES this year. One was a Quarter size and the other was almost doubled the size. I was amazed and scared when they began fighting in mid air. They were trying to knock each other out of the air.🐝 Columbia, South Carolina.

Hubby and I bought a brand spanking New motorhome from Forest River (we've since sold it). Long story short, the dealership had to keep it for 3 months to fix different things that we found after having it for only one month! Forest River is another company that "throws them together" just to make a fast dollar! We are now in our 70's and have decided we've had enough. Also just want to say, Welcome to Texas! We were in the same situation, we had a trailer lived in apartment and paid $160 for storage, so we got a house with no Hoa, and then traded rv for a camper van. We camped every other weekend, 2-3 days. we are glad we made this move. So we do understand your situation.

I have a similar conundrum... I'm a former scout leader so I can tent camp, my wife is a city girl and if she's gonna camp she wants doors that lock, full kitchen and bath. I bought a 31 ft Heartland North Trail 25LRSS, she's a beauty! Has 1 slide, a 40 in TV, king bed and all the other stuff she requires. Problem; can't park it near our home, must store. Got 4 acres about 40 miles from the house, but the wife doesn't trust leaving it unattended on the property and doesn't want to build a home and move there. SO, I'm thinking of getting a full size custom van and pulling my 5x8 trailer full of camping gear; large tent, porta toilet, camp sink etc., and if necessary we can sleep on the sleeper sofa in the van which is about the size of a full size bed, AND I can park the van and trailer on our driveway! Don't think I can do the actual camper van either, too space restrictive...

Hey Family, I heard in your voice the dispointment about the van. Go to New Caney, Texas. That way, you can park your class B on your own land.

It may have been a wood/carpenter bee, some can get to the size of a small hummingbird. Some bees also have facial recognition so they'll remember who is friend and who is foe.😊 🐝

Hello to you both. Let me start by saying I really enjoy your channel. Just a thought. Instead of putting your RV in storage. Have you thought about looking for a nice inexpensive small lot or less than an acre of land. Somewhere in East Texas. Put a cover or closed-in garage on the land and store your RV there. Yes, that will cost money to do that. However, if you get a couple of connections there for one or two RV's. Or even a tiny home. You can rent those spots out long term for one and short term for another The rent money can go towards your property taxes as well as land improvement and your renter will keep an eye on the place for you. Also if you choose to. You can have a third connection for yourselves. A place to go when you may not want to travel but just get out of the city for a few days. Just a thought.

Hello Don and Pegi…Look into the the Lance 1170 Truck camper….It’s a beautiful camper with more comfort w 3Slide outs separate bath and bedroom…offloaded it may fit in a garage… you already have the Dulles and the are reasonably starting @ 80,000😅😮 I’ve been trying to get a link to you😅❤ the tube algorithm is off here😂

Hello Fam! Another option is to buy an empty van with the longest wheelbase and have someone build it out for you. In this way, you can control the size of your bathroom with your own design. 🙏🏾😊

I'm glad you are exploring other options and keep RVing. I'm wondering why no 5th wheel. We just bought a Grand Design Reflection 260RD. It is physically the same length as our previous Travel Trailer. My husband the first time pulling was so excited, he said it pulled so much better. We are loving our new camper. Have taken two 12 day trips and love it. I wish you the best in your search. I hope we meet some day. Prayers for safe travels. I love DJ!

Come on brother, you can adapt and overcome. I’m glad you not only did a cost analysis but a livability analysis as well. It would be difficulty to live in a van for some of your trips IF you plan to be on the road as long as you were before settling down in Houston. Now that you have a home base, you may not be on the road as long. Great job on thinking about the HOA. Our neighborhood has good sided area for additional parking. Occasionally there are RV’s in it. So, show your HOA what your planning and see if it’s allowed before ruling it out.

I am about the same height and weight as you Don, and I know I needs my space in the bathroom, both toilet and shower to properly take care of my business! A van is nice if you are smaller in stature or single but for 2 grown folks, it becomes too tight!

If ur only gonna go out occasionally sell the vehicles u have now & just rent an RV when u want it. U would save on monthly payment & storage fee & insurance.

Hey Fam you have to weigh in Camping vs Glamping and your ages...I could go short term Glamping in a van if it had a Bed I not have to convert daily and a kitchen is a must and a toilet for nightime use...I've done Tent camping with bathroom facilities but leaving the tent at night to go to the bathroom was a big NO... Campgrounds have much nicer restrooms now I can see you getting a van and renting Cabins for comfort I also think building your house and only camping once or twice a year is your future ...whatever you chose to share I'm a ride or die Subscriber

Honestly I feel like even though the camper vans are nice I don’t think it’s for you guys. You are tall and Pegi likes to have a comfortable space to watch TV. It was worth checking out for sure, and maybe you are on the right track thinking about downsizing since you want to get rid of the RV you have now. Then I also think maybe since you have already paid on the truck and RV you have now in the end it may be a better financial decision to keep what you have.
