I just finished watching this movie for the first time (a friend recommended it to me) and I was blown away to be honest. I'm clearly not in the target demographic, but I can't help myself; I was in awe from beginning to end. Even though I wasn't around during the 80s, there's just something about these old school cartoons that feels very special. The opening song in this movie was great enough, but this song in particular was so awesome!!!! This movie is truly an underappreciated, misunderstood gem.
I loved the fact it was also geared towards boys to with all the action and adventure ! This movie truly felt like a dark grown up movie i never thought id see rainbow brite in but was cool and great to see her evolve as a character ! To bad it all ended after the movie ! Would love to see a sequel series on Netflix on how rainbow brite is a grown woman running rainbow land and passing of the color belt to another young child to keep the tradition going !!!!

The 80s were truly the good old days, back when life was more simple. I was lucky to be born during the 80s. If only there was a way to go back to that good time.
I found this movie on netflix on my Wii. At the time I was a 3rd grader dealing with seizures. Before my seizures I had never been to a hospital or take medication. The meds made me tired and dull all the time. For the first time in my life i had a hard time making friends. This movie was the only thing I can remember that truly made me happy. For a happy ending I was cleared of my seizures and still clear to this day.
I’m 33, I was introduced to this song at 9 years old, it was ‘97 my father had this VHS and I played this non stop. Just to fast forward to the ending credits. May he Rest In Peace ✌️ 🌈

Halloween this year, me and some friends decided to dress up as the forces of good (angels, etc.) as so many people go as evil things. I decided to go as Starlight, on all 4's, in a white onesie (with eyes, nose and a yellow star drawn onto the hood) with a rainbow wig, cut in 2 for the mane and the tail. I reminded my friends Rainbow Brite and Starlight fought the forces of darkness and gloom, bringing light and colour to the world. The costume was a real hit!

Watching this video brought back so many memories from when I was a kid and I am 35 years old. Tv shows back them were so much fun and great storylines. It is a shame that once the digital age began and todays kids will see programs that are not as joyful with the ones we grew up..

Only just finding the show but this movie was a big part of my childhood because I used to have seizures and I would have to go to the hospital to do something called an eeg and I needed to sleep for the procedure to work so the night before I would need to stay up to at least midnight and I would watch this movie with my mom and stormy and sky dancer were always my favorite 🌈🦄

The crazy thing was that this film was unknowingly my first exposure to Japanese animation. It might be cheesy by today's standards, but this film is still an 80s classic!
