College football win total overs and unders are the topic of the day as Doug Lesmerises is joined by old friend and betting insider Tyler Shoemaker to discuss 10 college football bets for this season.
Doug also wraps up with news on quarterback recruiting, coaching rules and Blue-Chip Ratio. But thinking about the college football season through a gambling lens is the heart of the show.
That doesn't mean you have to bet or even like betting, because Shoemaker's analysis of the season is worth the time for anyone who likes college football.
So first up are five win total overs that Shoemaker likes -- including Notre Dame.
Then are five win total unders that he likes -- including Penn State.
Thanks as always for joining Kings of the North.

Representing the southern suburbs of Akron like a champ ever since he made it to Ames! Also, Doug is the perfect representative of Northern Football. He’s the Everyman of the North… amped up to eleven in the best most delightfully obnoxious way. I mean that as a compliment.

If you are going to figure blue-chip ratio, you have to look at where players would be ranked NOW. For instance, say a DB was ranked as a high three-star when they were recruited, but would currently be ranked a five-star with the development they've received, that changes the perspective. That is how Michigan was able to win the Natty last year with such a low blue-chip ratio.

Notre Dame fan here. This is the weakest schedule I've seen in a long time. 10-2 would be a failure. Texas A&M is the game that worries me. We win that one, and we should go 12-0 or 11-1 at worst. This is NOT a National Championsip caliber team, but should make it to the second round.

That's the game that also worries me the most. Louisville does not. ND is going to be laying for them - plus they have them at home this year.

I wish Crying Ryan Day would put a million dollars of his own money on this team ! He never has any skin in the game. It would at least make me think he cares and thinks we can win !

How about I provide several examples of both Day not CARING and Day CRYING and then you 2 can comment as much jibber-jabber nonsense back as you see/deem appropriate…… Day said early and often at the beginning of his HC career that he CARED about all 3 phases of football => then did little to nothing about our Defense and Special Teams for years. He said he CARED and understood the priorities of being a HC at Ohio State => beating the TTUN, winning the BIGCG and GETTING OSU in a place to win the National Championship. Has his performance to date shown the level of care to meet these objectives? Hard No. Did he CARE enough to get an Elite Offensive Line to be competitive with elite Defenses ? Did he show he CARED enough for you during Covid to play football ? Other teams did. Ok……a few examples of him crying…… He cried about our defense being poor for years but ALLOWED the Rose Bowl Defensive MVP to be benched, played S Wade at the wrong position and allowed Tuf Borland NOT ONLY TO PLAY but to cover DeVonta Smith => time and time again in the championship game ! He cried when people called him and our offensive line soft. Do I need to explain this one ? He cried the REFS screwed Ohio State in the CFP game => yet JK Dobbins dropped 2 passes for TD’s and got caught from behind and didn’t score. Also, how proactive was Day about understanding Targeting, understanding and objecting to how officiating crews were chosen and how/who does the OFFICIAL REVIEWS IN THE BOOTH ? He certainly cried about a lack of NIL Money => and finally got it => instead of proactively working with Alum and OSU partners.
