when I first met Betty Buckley in NYC in the mid 80s I had no idea who she was since I was a budding young adult trying to make my professional inroads in the city coming from a small town in Massachusetts--thus not attending expensive Broadway theatre. in the last 30-years we remain friends and each time she comes to my New England area (I moved back), I go to see her and each time it's an earth-shattering and profound performance. @BettyBuckley, you are truly a Goddess and a kind, beautiful, wonderful, powerful woman and soul. #bettybuckley, #cats
I saw it too. It was by luck as there was a huge snowstorm in NYC and I was staying with my out-of-town college theater group and people had canceled their tickets. I was praying to get to see it (and I got my wish!) I got to compare it with the London version that I had seen just months before. She was a better grizabella but the London set could not be rivaled.
