I really miss all the “greats”. They all had Class, Respect, Morals, Integrity and were Intelligent and Hilarious. Those qualities are extremely hard to find in many people in 2024. Just a fact.
I just read that Vicki Lawrence heard from talking to Carol Burnett the last word Betty said before she passed was "Allen." That's true love for a wonderful man she'd been missing for 40 years❣
@@chuckclough153 I'm not crying, you're crying. My grandma was the same way. She was also born in 1922 and sadly passed away at 96. My grandpa passed away in 1977. There was no other love for her but him.
I feel like, in some small way, we just saw what it was like for Betty when she took that first step to the other side. She will be so missed from this plane, but so welcomed in heaven. RIP, beautiful Betty!
Just imagine that was 35 years ago - she still had half a career in front of her. She truly had a marvelous career. I write this from Oak Park, Illinois on January 17, 2022, the 100 year anniversary of her birth here. RIP, Betty!
I’m a 37 year old Russian and I love Betty White. Whenever the reality around me feels too overwhelming, I go on youtube and watch anything with Betty. She represents to me all the good in the world.
I know how you feel!! I started crying when Mark Goodson told the story about Allen wearing the engagement ring on a chain. Betty and Allen were so sweet together!
The fact that this amazing woman was honored for half an hour with all of her closest friends and biggest mentors, and was most excited about Mary Tyler Moore's new puppy, is the kind of wholesome thing that will be missed more than we currently know. What a blessing she is to us all.
Ha I was thinking the same and realised why I relate to Betty so much! I have the same reaction when someone gets a puppy :) sure, the humans were nice for her to see but when she saw the doggos she was so excited ha
She lived another 35 years... and everyone under 40 today fell in love with her based on all she accomplished after this special, without knowing much of anything about her already long life.
Yeah. She made multiple generations laugh for a variety of reasons. In 2015 she received the lifetime achievement award and she said: "I thank all of you. Your mothers and fathers. Grandmothers and grandfathers. And a couple of great grandfathers when I was younger." LOL What a lady.
I was thinking exactly that, I learned little about her career before I stumbled to her in golden girls reruns and off their rockers and the proposal, and I’ve been adoring her since. What a life, what a lady.
In the days following her passing, there were countless comments and tributes, but this tweet stood out, "In this time when we are so divided on so many things, isn't it amazing that the one thing we all agree on is Betty White."
That is so very very true! She always said that she never understood why people waste their time being rude and saying ugly things, she was always upbeat and positive and accepted people as they were!
I will turn 65 on January 15th, same age Betty is in this clip. Two days later, we will all wish her a happy 100th with Allen and all these wonderful friends, now all passed. 😔 To think she had another glorious 35 yrs of her life ahead...I pray to be as lucky. RIP, cutiepie. 😌💜
wow - this lady was so universally loved - its no wonder, she had the whole package..wit, charm, grace, class, beauty, intelligence, drive, compassion, integrity...RIP sweet Betty - thanks for all the laughs over the years and thank you for being a friend... you will be missed more than you know!
she was a wonderful lady so intelligent funny just a wonderful human being and one great thing about her she loved her animals you sure will be missed Betty white
I have watched this numerous times over the years-it is my favorite episode of “This Is Your Life.” However, because Betty White died yesterday, it has a whole new level of resonance with me. I think just about everyone on the show is dead now, too. Such a wonderful moment in time. Betty lived such a wonderful life, and now she has completed her journey. I am not sad but rather joyous that she went out on such a high note. She always did have the best timing.
Wow, this amazing “This Is Your Life” dedication for Betty White occurred 33 years ago! This beautiful lady is 98 years young this year of 2020. Per Wikipedia, “Betty Marion White Ludden is an American actress and comedian, with the longest television career of any entertainer, spanning more than 80 years”. God bless you, Betty White, we love you so much! Thank you for bringing us so much joy, laughter & happiness for almost a century! 💛💚💜💙🧡💗
Wow! The moment Alan got his Star on the Walk of Fame and the moment his widow found out. How emotional for Betty! God bless her & everyone involved with her.
R.I.P. Betty White ~ What a shock that she passed away today (12/31/2021) at the age of 99. Only weeks from celebrating her 100th birthday! She was our National Treasure. She blessed us all with her quick humor and her rememberable characters. May she make all the angels and God laugh thunderously and smile brightly in Heaven.
Yes Karen very, and my dad has terminal cancer, and no one wants to come around. Never have I ever been so afraid ALL the time, but God forgive me I know we are supposed to trust in the Lord and not be afraid, but more sad than afraid or a bunch of both. This kind of TV makes me feel good for a bit.
Oh my! The tears are flowing. This is beyond heartwarming. I cannot thank you enough for posting this. Betty White is a national treasure. Betty and Allen Ludden showed us what true love truly is. Many thanks and may God Bless you for posting this.
Such a wonderful human being. She deserved every bit of the honors she received and then some. A truly beautiful person. She left an unforgettable mark on this world.
If I ever make it to 98 years old and someone tells me 98 YEARS YOUNG? I will slap the person's face! I would want to be called 98 years old I've earn that! :)
My god you'll never see another person as passionate about animals. As one Betty White truly was. It truly was her life and god bless her for that. RIP Betty gone but NEVER EVER forgotten.
It's a sad day for me to end this year knowing that lovely Ms. Betty White is no longer with us. She gave us numerous moments of happiness and now she can go and rejoin her husband Allen.
Betty had to fight back tears every time her husband was mentioned. She was so overcome with happiness that Allen Ludden was finally getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame...and his star would be placed next to her star.⭐⭐
@@daboys1215 Im surprised that Betty didnt already have a star on the Walk of Fame before 1988. By 1988, She had already had a 40 year career in Hollywood. Then to think Betty didnt get her star for ANOTHER 7 years seems strange to me. But then again, Hollyweird is a strange place anyway.
@@vickyabramowitz2885 It was surprising to me too. In hindsight it was probably because most of her time on tv she was on game shows, talk shows and variety shows. It wasn't until the Mary Tyler Moore show that people could see her acting ability week after week. Yeah, Hollywood is definitely a strange place.
This is one of the best,if not very best tribute to this iconic actors of television of all time. She passed away this Dec 31,2021 just 17 days shy of her 100th birthday. God Bless you my dear, the heavens have become much more golden with star shining brightly there with your love,Allen Ludden. R,I,P,
I am so glad that she had such a long, healthy life and passed so peacefully! She was a great television personality but more importantly a wonderful human being...
i loved how she would call each of the people who came out "dear, honey, darling" and her eyes sparkled, not one phony bone in this lady's body! She was the most wonderful person that t.v.(hollywood) ever produced!
RIP Betty White. May the love these people had for you inspire others to know "only love can truly save the world". Your caring spirt will help light the way.
December 31, 2021. Betty White died today. Seventeen days shy of her 100th birthday. So glad this was posted. Thank you Betty for your wonderful gift of entertainment!
And she left many many more years! She was truly a golden woman! Her actions spoke as loud as her big huge personality and smile. She handled every situation with Elegance that is almost undescribable, in any interview she ever did you never heard her say anything negative about anyone.
I was watching a couple of episodes just the other day. Everything still holds up. The writing was top-notch and it's still just as funny today. Heck, I even like the transition music between scenes. 🙂
Is anyone who walked across that stage still with us? Other than Betty I don't think so. Even all three of her Golden Girls pals are gone. That would have to be a really weird feeling.
She was so unbelievably iconic in 1987, and still was so unbelievably iconic up until her passing in the last hours of 2021. RIP, Betty White. Go be with Allen now and forever.
There was an episode of the golden girls where they make a pact to take care of each other . Rose asks. Well what do we do when there is only one of us left and Sophia says don't worry I can take care of myself. I find it Ironic that Estelle was the first to go and Betty the last ...
Would like to know how many other game show hosts has a star.....probably a few,,,Allen deserved it, he broke barriers with Password and many forget his "G.E. College Bowl"(which doesn't get enough attention), he came up with that format on his own, he was a very educated man and very much a supporter of youth and helping them achieve!
Oh my - on the eve of Betty's 100th birthday, I stumbled across this treasure. I am weeping with such profound joy having "known" her for so many years ! I LOVE you, Berry White ! Happy Birthday ! 🍵
She was such a beautiful soul. She and Tony Bennett were among the oldest classy celebrities around. She always reminded me of Jimmy Stewart in the sense that she and Jimmy, or excellent actors that were loved and respected by many; not to mention, that they deserved all the love and attention and one knew that they should be loved and respected due to their squeaky clean reputation. I never, ever heard anyone ever talking bad of either one of them.
This made me cry! Betty White is the absolute sweetest person and an incredible comedian and actress. Love her so much and am so grateful she has gotten to live a long and healthy life (and is still with us!)
Has there ever been anyone in the tv industry more beloved than Betty White? I think not and that is the way it should be. RIP to The First Lady of Television. Betty Marion White Ludden 1922-2021
I cried like a baby through the whole thing! I didn't grow up during these years but I love Betty with all my heart. Who doesn't? I've watched back as far as I possibly could through all her works and she truly and whole heartedly deserved everything she accomplished! A true Golden Girl! Rest in sweet peace Betty. I hope you're reunited with Allen and having a marvelous time surrounded by all your loved ones and as many animals as you could ever have dreamed! 💜💜 Live your life like Betty White, when passing at 99 year's old is STILL too soon!
when she finally saw the star in the mayor's hand, it all came out, that was so beautiful to see! She put it all together without them telling her, she was so insightful and so bright....love that lady and Allen!
Now, I'm crying ...seeing all of those people who have passed away. It just breaks my heart. She lived a full life ...and always seemed happy, but I know she missed her husband. We never know what anyone is going through. I loved seeing her smile and hearing her laugh. You are gone, but will never be forgotten. RIP, Miss Betty 🙏 💙
I still remember this when it first aired, and I was just 12 or 13 years old. I was surprised to find a VHS tape of this show last year in one of my moving boxes, and I was so overjoyed watching this all over again at the time. Now, I am sadder because this time I am watching this, and Betty White isn't with us on Earth. I truly felt she was an immortal that would outlive everyone else. Memories of her that are shared by everyone are going to outlive every generation because that's how legendary she was. 💜👏🙏
Just days ago Ms Betty White was trending for her upcoming 100th. Those beautiful dimples. She lived a well lived and great life. So funny, friend of animals is now with her forever love ❤ Alan.
I don't like those trashy reality shows either. It seems like they're everywhere. I know people don't like these kind of shows either. I remember watching a video of somebody on this show and getting l upset. People were commenting how right she was how she reacted.
So do I. Such class and good manners. I absolutely hate shows and music of today. I wasn’t even born when some of these game shows aired yet I long for times like these.
That was so emotional. Betty must have felt lost, after the death of her beloved Alan. It was easy to see how much she must have still be grieving, since it had only been six years since he died. Six years feels like only six days, sometimes, when you lose someone that you love, dearly. Betty is and always will be the epitome of class.
This was awesome!!!! THIS is the epitome of giving someone their flowers while they're alive. I much prefer this over roasts which can be downright mean.
She gave so much to the entertainment industry. She was a natural, a sweetheart and a real lady. There is not too many like her in the industry where she is liked by everyone. She is in heaven entertaining all those who love her.
I was thinking the same thing. Amongst this group of fine people in Betty's life, she was the very last to pass on 12/31/21. She joined Ed Asner, Cloris Leachman, Gavin MacLeod who also passed in 2021. God bless Betty who brought so much joy to the world throughout her life. May she and Allen be eternally happy together again! 💕
As a proud old Baby Boomer, I can happily say I watched many This Is Your Life shows but this, I think, is THE BEST ONE. Because of tv, saying good bye to Betty White is like loosing my best friend. I will surely miss her along with Alex Trebeck. But, thanks to film and video tape both are still around much to my delight.
Rest In Peace Betty White! The world has lost a beautiful and charming woman who's talent has entertained us through so many shows. Laughter is the best medicine so that makes you our doctor. Thank you and God bless you. Now you will be reunited with Alan. 🙏🥰❤️
This was just beautiful. She will be cherished forever. It's still hard to believe she's gone. It was so sweet how the cast came out and reenacted that farewell hug. Need more love like this in our workplaces and the world and Betty helped spread love.
RIP Betty!! You were one in a million, seriously!! Smart, savy, funny, beautiful, kind, and compassionate! I sincerely hope that Allen was there on the other side with a big kiss and a vodka martini for you! You deserve it my dear!! We really don't yet understand the barriers that you broke but we will and you will get ALL your due credit! You were a trailblazer my dear, thank you for that!! And funny as hell!!
Well this just made me cry and she had only came into the studio with Ralph. What a wonderful lady & wonderful actress! Plus, she loved animals so much. So she was amazing all the way around! Now I’m at the end and I’m really crying big time. ❤
Betty White... You unite the generations with your gift of all you possess. To be able to share comedy through my parents, now passed, as well as my adult children & even now to my 12 year old granddaughter - what a national treasure you are to us all. God bless you!
