She was imparting life lessons through masterful vocals. Betty was one of the unsung masters of the whistle register. Minnie Ripperton also had an astonishing mastery over the technique. There were many real singers back in the day.........Betty happened to be one of them. Great video!!!

Most of Betty's hits came out in the 70's, but this song came out in 1987.

You didn't grow up with this so you are not appreciating the whole performance. She gave a wide range of vocal agilities from low registers, to growls, to whistles.... live, no auto-tune. Her command of the stage was also on point. Not only did she sang that, she gave a real emotional performance.

New Artist ??? Kid shes been a star since way before you were born . Forget about the year .shes been around since the 70's maybe 60's . Listen to the words ,, the advice the melody and her awesome voice from way back in the days.. Maybe you know her from her hit song , " Tonight is the night "

Miami's Home town Shero. Betty comes from a gospel singing family so she started out very young. She was in her young teens when she started recording and had some great songs.

Damn why would you pause while she’s going off? In pausing to give an overreaction you really deprived yourself of prolonged genuine surprise. Couldn’t watch the rest. Sorry, my man, this was a no from me.
