Religious belief is artificial light. As if one should respect the suggestion, we all travel with one foot in fantasyland, using a fantasyland vocabulary. You know them by their works, so what does it tell you about those advocating prayer? Nothing fails like prayer in a children's hospital. Who advocates faith, when it is worthless if you can't move mountains using faith & verbal commands to landscape? What kind of person speaks of god as if we did not have a saying: God helps those helping themselves, because gods have a perfect record of doing nothing, outside of fiction. No wonder Feud wrote the antidote to Christianity is literacy.

@@Stupidityindex Religion is 'rebinding'. That assumes that there is something and that this is somehow broken or 'unknown'. Everybody does do that in some way. There is preconditions were it will be 'bound together' correctly. There is preconditions for prayer to work as well. Simply demanding 'God do something' won't work.

God is in all and through all. God is your imagination. Your conscious and subconscious mind. Your awareness of being. What you believe is the reality you create and dwell in. It’s inside of you. That’s all the bible talks about. It plainly tells you it’s within you. It’s parables, symbols, mysteries, it’s veiled. If you believe it’s something outside of you then it’s a false God and you believe in vain

Still watching this video but 100% agree with the sentiment. I went to AmericaFest in Arizona last year and there was a worship time on the 2nd night. Matt Walsh filled the room for an earlier talk (about 3,000 people) and there was perhaps 10% of that for the worship time. I appreciated that one of the speakers pointed that out, and said just because people hold conservative values does not mean they are your brother or sister in Christ.

For sure. Walsh hardly displays love, joy, peace, patience, kindness…I used to listen to him but it eventually became evident that despite his values, he cares more about being right than using the truth to love his enemies.

I'm glad you are discussing this issue, as it was one I was struggling with for a long time. I went through a period in my own life where I had made an idol out of conservatism, and Jesus took a back seat. I would listen to the late Rush Limbaugh on the radio talk about hot women, cuss, and how the world was millions of years old, and I would either turn a deaf ear to it, or start talking like that myself because I falsely equated conservativism with Christianity, and if they are doing it, it must be okay. A side effect of listening to secular conservative talk radio was that I also became an angry person, and angry about life in general, and it was making me out of control. I’m a Christian and one who pays a lot of attention to conservative politics and media. Although I agree with the sentiment of this discussion I disagree with the premise, that is, that most of us are so immature that we can’t filter out what is wrong in secular conservatism. I too find myself frustrated with secular conservatism in that it’s not conservative enough. While it is taking a strong stand against transgenderism it has accepted homosexuality. Some argue for the legalization of hard drugs. It has a tendency to lean libertarian. So yes, my frustration as a Christian is that I find myself to the right of many secular conservatives. I know the Bible. My worldview was formed from biblical principles when I was young, before I payed a lot a attention to politics. I believe most of us who pay attention to conservative media are able to filter out what is not biblical. We’re not dunces. I believe a greater problem among evangelicals is influence from the left. That would be my concern. As far as a few topics addressed: many of us don’t believe America is a new Israel, however we do believe God raises up nations, past and present, for specific purposes to further the gospel. America has been in this role. I believe the UK was in this role on the past. It may be that God raises up other nations in the future. I do believe that God laid his hand on America in a unique way and we are grieved about what is happening. As for Tate, yes I do get more disgusted with him the more I learn about him. But what allowed such an ungodly influencer to rise is the vacuum our society has created in putting down masculinity. Including in the church. I believe alot of Christian men feel emasculated by what they hear coming from pulpits at times. And no, when I hear expository preaching I don’t have a negative reaction. I love it. Because the Bible is the foundation for my belief. I wish I heard more expository preaching.

I don't think Christians understand how far debased the Democratic Party has become and how important conservatism is in pushing back against that agenda. Conservatives are not all Christians, but there are Christians within conservatism and we need to stay in and be an influence in the party. We need to run for office for mayor, school boards, town council. Our Christian life can be a light to conservatives that are not Christians. There are plenty of Christian conservatives that have not embraced lbgt and Trump did not "embrace" them. You didn't see him lighting up the WH to celebrate gay marriage, or have transgenders exposing themselves like the current president. America is not Israel in the OT. We are a republic and we may disagree with gay marriage and trans, abortion and other social issues but America is not a theocracy. Conservatism is not a Christian party, there are Christians within the party. And I'm not speaking of you in particular but Christians tend to sit out and not vote and complain that the GOP isn't "Christian" enough but they wouldn't dare get up and try to run for office in their own towns. I'm a Canadian looking from the outside seeing what America is about to loose as Christians sit and complain about politics. I don't have freedom of speech where I come from. I'm a Christian who pretty much listens to a lot of conservative political content. I agree that Andrew Tate's ideology is not compatible with my belief, and I also disagreed with Dennis Prager on the porn thing. I think it's very important for Christians to have discernment and nuanced thinking in order to filter these things. This is very good content. I thank Alyssa and Jon for using the term "Christ-less Conservatism" instead of the term "Red Pill Gurus" like in other Apologetics channel. Being "red-pilled" in Conservative circles is never defined as people who blindly believe in any "conservative" speaker. It just means you broke free of your old leftist hivemind ideas. Using the term "redpilled" negatively just vilifies people who are not necessarily on another side of the debate. I was "redpilled" when I read and listened to Thomas Sowell, Milton Friedman, and people like Jordan Peterson, but I was NEVER a fan of Andrew Tate, or Sneako, or Pearl, or even people like Milo Yanopoulos or anti-semites like Nick Fuentes. I know as a Christian that they're not good sources of information and ideas. I think Christ-less Conservatism is a better term for these people.

Prager is wrong to say that’s “the Jewish perspective” on porn. There is actually a tradition for centuries to avoid lust and coveting by reciting a blessing which thanks G-d for creating something beautiful in His world. Jewish perspectives on these issues are as varied as Christians. As a Messianic Jew I can definitely say the action and the heart and the motives are especially important to Jewish confession of sin, Yom Kippur is a day on repentance for what we have done knowingly or unknowingly, willfully or unwillingly and even what we have left undone. Dennis Prager is playing on people’s ignorance of Jewish culture to excuse his own sin. He’s wrong.

Great podcast. I've been thinking about this topic a lot lately. Thanks for the podcast. Christianity is what brought me to Conservatism. I love all of the conservative content especially if the creator is also a Christian. I must admit I almost got sucked into the political "Christian" conservative sphere, going to events and watching content. Although I agree with a lot of political conservative viewpoints, we must remember that Christianity is not about behavior modification or "being good." Christianity is about the fact that Christ who knew no sin, became sin for us and died in our place so that we can be reconciled to God. He has sealed us with the Holy spirit which frees us from the bondage of sin and helps us to overcome our sin. I think a lot of the "Christian" conservatives has tried to push Christianity, essentially without preaching the Gospel. They are essentially pushing behavior modification and not regeneration; Judeo-Christian values without personal repentance and faith in Christ. This realization has helped me to keep weary of this movement.

It’s good to listen to conservative voices because the Church is so pathetic and spineless (when we actually have God Himself living in us) that we need some practical direction in how to function in society. The Church by and large is a joke and of no value to society. The only thing they’re good at is standing in judgment of those that don’t think just like them.

From the outside of the USA, I shake my head. That somehow I’m not a Christian because I’m not republican, or because of the country I live in I’m personally attacked. I won’t fight tooth and nail for my country. My allegiance in to Jesus only. Because allegiances to a country could hurt the gospel. Losing might be winning. Jesus’ death looked like losing, but it was winning. God does things that don’t make sense. And that is the very difference between American and other country. The fear of change, and a heart of rebellion in the country of a whole, as it was founded on rebellion. Be Bible literate. Know who it was written too (hint the Middle East) and read early church fathers. And test your heart always. Is this God, or this world? Is this God Kingdom? Or earthly kingdom?

Paul stated in his letters to the Corinthians that the scriptures were written for Christians _in the last days_ (1 Cor. 10:11). That is why the Bible was written for posterity. Just because books were directly written for someone else, it doesn't mean it was ultimately for them to understand. Most of the prophecy contained in the Bible has _end-time_ implications.

As a Jewish person, I'm kind of puzzled at the views stated by Dennis Prager, that in Judaism, looking at pornography is ok. It's true that in traditional Judaism that "what you do" seems to be more important than "what you think," but maintaining sexual purity in both deed and thought is a big deal among the devoutly Orthodox. I remember when I was in Israel I saw a "Candid Camera" type show on TV. The scenario they set up was to have an attractive young woman in a very short dress carrying a bunch of oranges in her arms. As a man would come walking by, she'd "accidentally" drop the oranges, and start to bend over to pick them up, her short dress going up as she bent over exposing what was underneath. As she did, the camera would pan over the man, and note his reaction... some leered lustfully, some were just kind of stunned at what they were seeing. The studio audience laughed at each man's reaction. Then they showed a devout Orthodox man coming up (black hat, black coat, white shirt), the camera panned over to the woman dropping the oranges, starting to bend over to pick them up, and then the camera panned back to the man to get his reaction. The man had turned his face away, taken off his hat and put it over his face (so he couldn't see the woman). Perhaps Prager is getting his views from the more liberal "streams" of Judaism, but devout, Orthodox Jews would not find it at all acceptable to look at pornography.

When you look at pornography, you are looking WITH LUST after the women in the pornographic magazine or film. This was a valid and pertinent discussion. Does Religion "Cow-tow" to politics? or does Politics "cow-tow" to Religion? We see here, a need for Balance. Neither should cancel out the other. And remember WHERE you are. In church, the BIBLE takes precidence. In the state capitol, Politics and laws take precidence but remember the Faith that the Founders had. Morality over Atheism. People used to pray for Wisdom. We should do that today, ourselves. The Founding Fathers talked about individual rights, but they acknowledged that rights came from God. Here, i think we see the importance of a good Balance between respecting the Creator, yet letting people live in Freedom and pursue their own Life, Liberty and pursuit of Happiness. Does that mean "anything goes"? NO. They recognized that Freedom does NOT mean we get to: steal from our neighbor Defraud people and be dishonest in business run rampant with wild sexuality and cheating with your neighbors wife kill innocent people falsely slander people. NO. They were "Moral men". They may have drank some Whiskey or wine, in 1780, but they also weren't "lushes". They tried to be upright and Godly and allow others their rights, as well as enjoy their own. You might say "Freedom Plus Godliness". We need both. You DEFEND your Country. You BELIEVE IN and FOLLOW God's will. Politics? or Religion. Think of 1800. (AND now)- you admire the Flag and your Country and GUNS help you defend it. Thats the politics side. But the BIBLE guides Morality and your Faith. The difficulty we have today, is that since 1800, we've had all sorts of odd religions and philosophies crop up or be "imported"into the country. Politics and Laws allow us to choose, for ourselves. Thats Freedom. Christianity needs to "sell itself" better in a world of competing beliefs. But be open about it. Dont hide the "real" teachings or hidden agenda of a church. Here, is where individual Christians need Discernment. Keep it Biblical if you're going to be a Christian. We don't want a hyper-moral "inquisition" but we dont want to lose sight of Creation and the Creator, and Fairness and Decency, and Fruits of the Spirit, either. Also Remember that sincere Christian prayer can be quite helpful. Beyond that, there's 2 more things: 1. Jon seems to be taking Christianity seriously and not watering it down. Kudos to him for taking a stand. And the other thing: 2. It would be good to spread the word and Inform people about what N.A.R. is all about. Are people involved in it thinking its this, when its really that? As a parallel example, many christians might attend their church thinking all is well, yet not knowing that their church teaches Calvinism (and they likely wont tell you voluntarily, either. They'll just preach it) or even what it is! How would they feel about Calvinism if they knew about Arminianism, which they probably also don't know about? Are they simply getting caught-up in the worship? Healings? or so-called words-of-knowledge? (see Hebrews Chapter ONE, verses 1-4). Too often, toooo many Pastors wanna be "Top Dog" and have the biggest and coolest church in town, (with some it can be an obsession), and/or become more Famous, and so they start trying to pump everybody else up that he/she has had a "special annointing" or "NEW Revelation". They haven't. How do I know? READ the opening four verses of Hebrews Chapter ONE. You have Jesus. You have the Word. see 2nd Timothy Chapter 3, verses 16, 17. The word is good for"instruction in Righteousness". You already have what you need. Use it!

Thank you for making this video, it is so full of encouragement and an eye-opener to areas we need to pray God for to guide us, so that the glory is all to Him and not to us. As I was listening to both of you, I noticed a pattern... it is the need people have of a male role model, when in reality, the role model per excellence, and only one, is Jesus. He taught us all we need to know on how to live a life that glorifies God. He is the one to follow!!! It was also brought to my mind, the passage of the apostle Paul, it reads: "Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil." 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22, which also lead me to think about the common practice the Bereans had, was exactly this very one!! (Acts 17:10-15) The order is very clear, God, He created the place for us to live in, He provided us with all the food we need to look after our bodies, then He created man in His image and likeness, then God created the ideal helper, woman... not from the man's feet, head, knee... but from a rib!!! Isn't that wonderfully significative?? It reminds me of that game we used to play, the three legged race?? If we think about it, to win the race we got to run with our eyes on Jesus and together. We are stronger only when Jesus is the centre of everything in our lives and relationships. Thank you once again for everything, may God bless you, guide you and use you for His glory, that many be lead to the cross of Jesus, who gave His life to that we may have life and more abundantly!!

@@tammiebrown8317 Hello...the Bible says that God USES both righteous and unrighteous people in authority. That doesn't imply that God puts every person who is in an authoritative position in that position. Some people lift themselves up and some people freely put a person in that position. We as Christians are instructed to respect authority and not abuse it just because we have been set free from men. We are to be an example of respecting laws. No matter who is in power, the laws are ordained of God, not the person in power. The moral of the story is to stay out of trouble because we are ambassadors of God. Romans 13 1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. 2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. Php. 3:20: "For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ...." We must always realize the Kingdom of God is what we are to pray for, not the kingdom of man.

How about two gay females who are "married" to each other and both are legally practicing Pastors. That has blown me away that a traditional denomination they belong to has accepted and allowed this.

Marriage is human-made institution, so not sure why cry about it

@@js1423 Read Genesis 2:24, Hebrews 13:4 for example. Really - a human institution? Wow, I wonder what your religious "institution" is. Are you one of those "convenient Christian" believers? Name the human who created marriage. Adam and Sara knew nothing about marriage at first.

@@susanbender6029 as far as when marriage was invented, I suspect it started as monogamous relationships between the first humans in the prehistoric times, and became more systematized when peoples became agrarian.

Yes, Christ-less conservatism is a real problem. Christians need to be careful and continue to keep Christ where He needs to be: on the throne of our hearts. It's obvious that the Right shares many of the principles associated with the Christian life. And if you wanted to stretch it, you could say that some tenets of the Left do too, but the differences are huge now.

35:15 - 36:29 - This reminds me of the horrible t-shirts that say: "I stand for the flag, and I kneel for the cross." Why are you equating the American flag with the cross of the Lord Jesus? 🤔

Wisdom of God teaches us the difference between our values and through whom our values ultimately flow. Knowing no political party can ever be our Savior frames our expectation as thus we are not disappointed in something we have not made idol.

Yep - the Left and the Right will one day be united - along with all other groups - in persecuting true believers.

I agree. We’re to come out from the systems of this world whether they are on the left or the right and make Jesus the only one worthy of our full allegiance.

It will be interesting to see how the secular right come to unity with the left over climate change, when considering what will happen in Revelation 8 when a third of the earth will be burned by fire

As always, this is another great show. This is a long comment, but bear with me as you may find it interesting and worth considering: Something I would highly recommend is that conservative and Christian influencers and podcasters become familiar with popular figures they are going to critique or talk about. A good place to start with Andrew Tate would be the Tucker/Tate interview. Yes it’s long, but watch it through. You owe it to yourself, your audience and your conscience to personally give your attention and consideration to populist figures in the culture wars. However, something that we need to be mindful of when it comes to the likes of Tate (and Trump) is that no one is saying that these people are to be looked to for spiritual advice or “Messianic” type guidance. Any devout follower of Jesus will see clearly that these influencers won’t replace the spiritual truths and therefore will not be so threatened by them. And any disciple of Christ with discernment will see why God has allowed or raised up the likes of Tate (or Trump) for this hour in relation to the culture wars. God is allowing the likes of Tate (and Trump) for a reason - maybe because the Christian community isn’t being the salt, light and threat to the globalist cultural, political and economic agendas as we should be. It’s interesting that what is happening with Tate now in the cultural sphere is what we went through with Trump in 2016 in the political sphere. TONS of Christians had a massive problem with voting for Trump initially because they felt as if voting for him to fill a political post was somehow giving him a personal endorsement as a person. And these are NOT one and the same thing. Voting for or supporting a political leader or even social influencer for the good they bring to their sphere of the fight DOES NOT mean you are embracing them as a person or affirming their private life. And yet it was extremely difficult for many “Christians” to get this through their skulls back in 2016. The split second someone tried to point out all the political perspectives that Trump had which were extremely good and important relating to foreign policy and the economy, someone would counter their point with a lengthy post with tons of Bible verses about how Trump was an immoral man and didn’t measure up to Biblical Christian standards. And it had to be brought to the attention of these well meaning but sincerely misguided Christian conservative zealots that we were not voting on our next prophet, priest or Messiah. We were simply voting on the man who could best fill a secular post within government relating to the national and international demands and intrigues of politics. And it’s the same with Tate in 2023. Tate has had an extremely good effect on many young men, has inspired many men to work hard, take responsibility, not to be passive, etc. Tate has also just recently admitted that his choices of the past were wrong, has come out AGAINST pornography (yes you read that right), come out against big pharma, the military industrial complex and abortion. And I’m only naming a few things. Is Tate a bit of an enigma? Yes! Is he misguided about true Christian masculinity? Yes. But does this mean he is not being used by God right now to come against some of the cultural and social agendas of the globalists? NO! He is! Ironically I have known Christian men who have been motivated by Tate and actually get on fire for Jesus and their responsibilities as a godly man as a result of Tate’s influence and teachings. Again, go figure! Something that genuine Christ following Christian conservatives need to remind themselves of or ask themselves about is that passage where Jesus clearly states that a Kingdom divided against itself cannot stand. And He made it very clear that Satan cannot fight against Satan, or his kingdom will not stand. And while Christians don’t seem to be able to take this point seriously, Satan does! Satan knows right well that he can’t fight against himself. So Christians need to ask themselves why it is that the global and political and social elites hate Tate so much!? The globalists who are clearly Satanic in their origin and pursuits have done everything under the sun to cancel Tate and destroy his influence in the world. Why? Why is it that the globalists and social engineers hate Tate so much? Because he is a threat! And while Christians can’t seem to perceive the threat Tate is to the cultural order, Satan can. Interesting isn’t it how in England Tate is not even to be discussed in school or on school grounds. During WW2 you could talk about Hitler. He wasn’t a forbidden subject. After Sept. 11, you could talk about Bin Laden. And yet Tate is forbidden? Tate may be a diamond in the rough, but I would caution Christians to be very careful and in a fear of God when speaking of Tate or contemplating him. Because right now he is a far bigger threat to Satan’s plans in the social and cultural spheres than most Christians combined.

Simply put: focus on Jesus, the Gospel and God's Word no matter what. Thank you for this wonderful conversation. It is a great reminder to keep our eyes and hearts focused on Christ. Btw, does anyone know where one can purchase Alisa's books if you are in the Asian region? Most Christian books I see or are featured in Christian YT channels are difficult to find or purchase if you're outside of the US. Thank you in advance!
