Yes they have on EBay it’s crazy, but here in Thailand they are still cheap, my first WW2 helmet cost me $5 now they costing about $25 to $30, hey thank you so much for Watching and Comment
@@jerseyfaranginthailand8134 WOW, i need to send you some orders... Here an M1 Helmet complete with the liner and nothing missing goes between $125-$500, it's crazy
8:48 Those hinges are typical of Scandinavian M1 helmets. The shells for Scandinavian M1s were made in Germany or Austria, the liners in Denmark and the hinges locally in Norway and Denmark.
the Belgian m1 clone's are marked with 'ABL' and a production date, they are heatstamped inside the liner and stamped with red ink inside the shell, or atleast the ones i have are. A = armée (French for army) B = Belge (French for Belgian) or Belgisch (Dutch for Belgian) L = leger (Dutch for army)
After that I had bought a m1 helmet from Ebay for 90 dollars and I got some cheap dollar store toy helmet, I hope I can trust a fellow collector who understands history in its finest
not rare, but very sought after, the germans have other helmet models that they produced less of that are still worth only 20-30€ there because nobody realy actively collects them.
Hi very intreasting magnetic Helmets. I trying to find the manufacturer of these helmets. Whenever a magnetic helmet pops up, its ofren assumed its a danish m/48 helmet made by Glud & Marstrand. The thing is they never made any M1 helmets! The Danish army and civil defence do have(had) these magnetic helmets. In late 1951 army technicians travelled to Hong Kong to look at m1 helmets already in stock there, with the intention of buying 50000 of these as well as another 60000 for the civil defence. Eventual the deal was done, and these helmets was introduced in the civil defence as the m/52 helmet. The army already having the m/48 (original ww2 us m1 helmets, brought in December 49 from us stocks in Germany), they simply put them in as another batch of m/48. The difference between the army and civil defence are the bales as well as about 100g in weight and the color. The civil defence helmets has us style bales and a serial number stamped inside the rim ( done by the Danish), while the army version has no number and another bale style. But what they have in common (other then being fully magnificent) is how the rim is joint in the rear. The overlap, by up to a cm. never seen that on any other m1 clone helmet. Wonder if this is the case too with your helmets, and that they might be the same manufacture. Very easy seen on the inside.
Hi Lasse very Interesting reading your comment, these Magnetic helmets were from the Thai Army, but I wonder where they got them from, they are very heavy and have like a red primer underneath the paint and no heat stamp number, I was wondering did the Thais make the helmets , maybe the Americans made a helmet making machine here in Thailand lol, thank you so much for Watching and Comment and stay safe and connected
Hi adavid hey thank you for Subscribing to my channel , hmmm yes the Tin Foil , some person did that to sell them as WW2 helmets but those helmets are very cheap Thai helmets that are not collectible, so I’m just letting Collectors know what to look out for.
I was wandering if I could buy one from you, I really love ww2 and I want a real ww2 helmet but at my local antique store someone had bought it, I cant find any anywhere, I'll buy one for up to 70 dollars, I would be very grateful thx
Hi Pete, thank you for comment and great a question to, ok if your Helmet is a U.S M1 McCord helmet WW2 it should have numbers with a Letter next to it. I never seen a 12/3A, please look again to see if that / is a number or a scratch, if its 123A then its a early 1942 helmet or if its 1213A then its a late 1944/45. Click on my facebook helmet link send me a photos so i can look, Cheers bud
Can someone help me, I own a front seam m1 and people say that repro can’t be front seam but I can’t find the heat stamp on mine. So is the fact that it’s front seam enough to confirm it’s original or do I need to find the heat stamp in the thick paint that they repainted my m1 with or was I scammed????
Hey man my clients dads friend left my clients dad his helmet from the war and he died and left it to my clients dad. I have it and i was wondering if i can send someone a picture to get some info on it
I was a German Helmet collector back in the 70s I had over 700 + and 600 + U.S helmets but I sold them all and now I’m starting again with just U.S helmets
@@jerseyfaranginthailand8134 Technically those are Chinese helmets from WWII they were a client state in terms of equipment purchases. Look online and you'll find pictures of Chinese soldiers with German helmets and uniforms.
@@jerseyfaranginthailand8134 ah i knew it was an early M1 , i think soldiers have either been cooking in it or it was caught in a flamethrower as it is black and looks like it has been burnt.
Hello Andy, yes they were cheap then but now prices have gone up in the last 6 months here in Thailand, thank you for watching, stay connected to the channel
Hello Bud, if it says M1 Helmet liner then I think it’s only the liner, normal if helmet and liner are sold together then the title should be M1 Helmet with Liner but the best thing is ask the seller thank you so much for Watching and Comment
hi , Schlueter began production of its M-1 helmet shells in January 1943. Schlueter produced only 2,000,000 M-1 helmet shells during the war (both fixed and swivel). They placed an S stamp on their helmet shells above their "heat temperature stamp.
