ok soo remember that film study thing? yeah, it's an official thing now.
There are a few rough spots in this video but it took ages to render and upload so they are just going to have to...be there.
I have been dying to get my hands on this movie and now that I have it, man am I excited. I was going to start with a Dawsey&Juliet video but as I rewatched it, I thought it would make a great film study video.
Dawsey became a father to a child that wasn't even his all because she belonged to a woman he loved. I see Juliet as Elizabeth reincarnated (despite the same time period.) I see it as the more she researches into the secret past here, the more she feels connected and a need for her own past to be resolved along with it.
Does that make sense? I hope. Maybe the video will help yall understand my weird brain process lol

oh em, this got me all emotional. now i need to rewatch this film again -it definitely does not help that urge of doing a lily/matthew past lives friendship edit at all!!- honestly? i think you captured that feeling of... past finding its way into someone's soul, even if it may not be their own. and then it just unravels every little piece of your insides from top to bottom. or it slowly presses against your lungs, reminding you that it's there despite of you trying to push it into nonexistence. daunting. beh i ramble nonsense. the point is, this is beautiful. and i really do hope of seeing another edit of this film :)

Beautifully done. One of, if not my favorite film. So evocative and so sensitively played. I enjoyed the film more than the whimsical novel on which it was based. You captured the tone of the love story in this short video. Thank you!

I was emotionally moved when I watch this movie twice (and teared twice too). I love how all the characters are concatenated to one another through their amazing and bewildering bonding from a roast pig that let to the book society eventually in a serendipitous way. Reading the book is an utterly different encounter. Beautifully written and directed. One of my favourites.
