I dont, but have been using them for 2+ years and would absolutely recommend for a proper audio experience. HD558 are open style, so there is audio leak and practically no sound isolation, but comfort, clarity, sound-stage is absolutely amazing. Can wear HD558 for 10hrs without getting sweaty ears. Perhaps I'll make a review on Senn HD558.

As odd as it sounds the response curve changed noticeably when I swapped the original pleather cushions on mine to the DT770Pro silver velour pads. Easiest procedure ever since the cushion designs are identical apart from the material. I drive them off of a Xonar Essence STX and the mids and highs are MUCH better. They also improved after about 3 months of 3+ hours of daily use - they are properly burnt in. I've sat through 8+ hour LAN parties with my pair and I didn't have to take them off even once because of the heat issues. I use mine on around 2 1/4 "level". The original mic kit, albeit a bit overpriced, is great, and with my sound card I don't think I would ever need to upgrade to a large membrane condenser mic, even for podcasting. All in all I'm very satisfied with them, for many years to come!

Very good quality review. I actually was looking at these headphones earlier. Other reviewers weren't as critical as you were. But critical is good. I wish there was a very modular and replaceable over the ear headphone at a competitive price out there.

It's most obvious at 4:06 . In HD 720p and up if you keep track of that spot, you can see that bright spot in a few other shots in the review.

There's a bright pixel in the lower left quarter of your camera's sensor, more noticeable panning over black items. I first thought my screen was broke.

I found that it took a couple of months for the mid tones to kick in as well as the sound stage to really open up. I am not a fan of the ear pads and have replaced the pleather pads with velour which makes them much more comfortable and there is slightly less heat build up. The other thing I replaced was the cable, using the V-moda cable instead (it fits, though doesn't lock), I am not sure the sound is any better but it is slightly louder.

Got it like $110(MYR460) few months ago. Couldn't be more happier.

I can get these for 130 euro's now. Is that still worth it mid 2018? I'm planning to use them mainly for gaming.

I recently ordered a pair of ath pro500mk2 as i was on tight budget but the custom one pro will be my next pair for upgrade.

Sorry, haven't checked my inbox. I didn't notice a huge amount of difference with the velour pads, but I changed the pads over very early, before the sound had really opened up, so I am not sure how much difference the velour pads would sound compared with the warn in plether pads. You get less noise isolation though and a tiny bit more sound leakage, though this is very small.

I wonder if I should buy this. Found them for 160USD new.

Just a note, these have gone to below 200$ on most stores. They also need a LOT more time to burn in than what you did (full volume for 50+ hours).

I grabbed the Beyerdynamic MMX300-2 if your after more clarity better mids these are friggin awesome but lacks the bass of the COP but still has great punch not as much boom.

Having bought a Beyerdynamic Custom One PRO Plus 2 years ago, and having used it no more than about 20 times, it is untennable that the diadema (top cushion) and both ear cushions material gets literally destryed as if some rats have bitten the protective material (simulated leather), so after 2 years (and each 2 years in the future) I will have to spend about 50 euros to use them. UNTENNABLE!

hi hardware canucks, i really dont know to get open back ( dt990) or closed back (COP) for gaming., notable CS GO and Rainbow Six Siege. Out of 10 people i spoke with, 5 recommended open back and 5 recommended closed back. the key thing i want is superb positional accuracy sound.

How bad do these leak and block out sound? I use headphones in a quiet room in school, so I need to know the leak. And the hallways and bus are impossible to listen to music in with my current headphones. I listen to rock and metal. (Examples In Flames, Saosin, Avenged Sevenfold, Opeth, emperor, etc.) How well would these fare?

i have the COP and they are great for games but for music they SUCK the bases are very very muddy and with many instruments and some base "normal music" you get tired of them very fast i also own the Audiotechnica m50 wich is much much better sounding headset but are very neutral sounding. my music headset is the 770 pro AE Limited Editon that has a warm sound and great bass very nice sound
