Great review ,don't worry about those cables they will last. Ive got Beyer dynamics even from the early 90's and they still work fine today .I'm a audiophile person "Just use your own words " audiophiles always complain and use big words for mostly " non existent " problems. Hey Mitch. From Beyerdynamic: The DT 900 Pro X has a ‘wide range of applications on all devices thanks to STELLAR.45 driver with an impedance of 48 ohms’. Their higher end closed back model (the DT 1990 Pro) impedance is 250 ohm which would have required a headphone amp. Whereas the lower impedance of these DT 900 Pro Xs is no problem for my Motu M4 interface. It's also no problem for my iPhone to power the DT 900 Pro X's with a lightning to 3.5mm jack for listening. The flexibility of listening options (because of lower impedance) and that it's a shiny new product from a trusted name in a price range I'm comfortable with were the main contributing factors to me selecting this model. Sorry for the short story, but it was a good question and I did the video without an outline or any notes and I definitely skipped over this important information.
