i gotta admit, my friend brought me to your channel. I was laughing at first because you were different from the others, then i realized i loved your way of reviewing things because you're always so freaking positive and optimistic. LOVE your channel and id love to support you, keep continuing making videos man! hoping for the best for your channel and life.
Have not actually seen anyone record themselves playing to hear the sound leak from the outside, thank you. Also your energy is really good in the videos I've seen of you!
The Techne a “Professional” audiophile Man with this headset you getting into that territory does that mean more studio headsets in the future? If so I have a really good $60-80 studio headset you can review the Status audio cb-1’s
While those are good budget studio headphones, the range of the drivers is on the lower side than those of a basic AT m50x I would much rather have a 5/10 to 40k+ studio headset with a wider range of ability.
You are far more different than other reviewers, you have a very friendly and funny personality i love your videos. Your vids dont just have good information, they entertain me very much as well
@@Bolasnegras Except DT 990 Pro has a lot of bass. Its not your "perfectly balanced" studio headphone. Its V shaped, very dynamic headphone. DT 990 has both strong bass and treble. So its probably a very good headphone for gamers who are used to more bass. Its just DT 990 produces a lot better and more accurate bass than any gaming headset.
You used the most trash amps for that headphone , useless but hilarious review 😂 no way would you play with them headphones they are borderline unbearable to listen to apart from some very specific applications
I think Beyerdynamic are the absolute kings of the headphone game! I have the DT770 Pros for purely listening to music, used them a couple times through my PS4 controller too whilst gaming and they are good but because they're closed, not everything is as clear. Still absolute beasts though!
These are a great pair of headphones. The only complaint I have is that the highs can get a bit harsh sometimes. My current favorite pair of headphones are the Monolith M1060’s but those are pretty expensive.
bought this headset and the G6, I mainly use it for gaming and watching videos ,the sounds of high is just fucking too much, can handle it after 3 days. gonna return it. thats the reviews guys. not recommend
Loved this review. Just seeing audiophiles talk about it didnt help me as someone who only used close backs, but you really helped me understanding the sound!
Going on 3 years with my 250 ohm version and I absolutely love them. Only have gotten more comfortable over time. I power mine with a dac and a tube amp the sound is absolutely fantastic for gaming or anything I wanna do. for the price point these are so worth it.
A bit late but if you're still looking for a mic I recommend something like the Antlion Modmic 5. I use that mic with my AKG K712's and it's awesome. A note on the DT990 Pro: I owned the Pro version and I hated them. Horrible clamping force out of the box and the curly cable were enough for me to send them back. However, while a tiny bit more expensive have a look at the DT990 'Edition'. They have the same drivers are the Pro version but have a looser clamp and a straight cable.
Heya Techie! Im Wonder On IOS but an alt :D got 2 subs outta me. BTW about m bluetooth situation im able to spend alot more money! Any suggestions for a 100$-150$ Bluetooth Gaming headset? Btw im working for a pc but the headsets for gaming on my phone.
This video has helped me out a lot, I've been looking at these headphones for a while now and actually bought them but returned them as I didn't know they needed a soundcard/amp to use them. When I found out I needed an amp/sound card I didn't have a clue what I had to get, as i was looking at the G6. Thank you, you have saved me scrolling thru the internet now :D
When you say these are for competitive gamers everyone watching this video will live the role and will put these in their shopping carts cuz in fact you mentioned a quote used in gaming headset's marketing
I saw every second of the video Absolutely great job 👌 I Have a question I really hope you answer me on it If I liked everything on these headset and told you to put it aside And just talk about the sound Are these the best headset for those how play online like rainbow 6 and other stuff like pupg and need to hear the foot steps because you said that the highs were very pronounced And is it better then the hayper x cloud ALPHA S .🤍🖤
Can you review the beyerdynamic dt 770 pros? I want to know if they are worth it for gaming. I am thinking of buying them. Also another review idea, the phillips phidelio x2, Im also thinking about those.
I use a blue yeti, which is right in front of me, and it doesn't pick up anything, the sound that you hear only floods/leaks out of the headphones if it is really loud.
For me it's the sound and the industrial look it has. I'm not a fan of all those spacy ready to dive into deep space kinda headsets. I just ordered th 250 Ohm one. Going to test it on my Maximus Code MoBo. Hope i dont need an amp :)
@@jamesblackwell5294 I am very happy about it. What they say is true. The cushions on the ears are super soft and I wear them daily for about 6 hrs. No pression on the ears whatsoever. The build quality is very good and I am very sceptic about that point. The sound is super sharp in the mid and highs. I ad extra bass with a virtual eq. The cable is a bit short and comes with an adaptor 3.5mm to 6.3. I had to use an amp to boost up the volume tho my motherboard wasnt enough although it says it does. I used a cheap 15€ one for this. At the end. Very happy about it and would definitely recommend 👌
I normally plug my headphones directly into my AT2020USB mic so I can hear the audio back as I speak. Would I not be able to do this with these then? I don't get the amp thing.
As with most things, sound is very subjective. I have these headphones (250ohms). I also have the Bayerdynamic MMX300 v2 (600ohms) - Astro A50 and some Sennheiser GSP 360. I also have the Sounblaster G6 and I currently only play on PC. Personally I think the DT990 are best all round headphones I have. I listen to all kinds of music mainly in direct mode as it’s the purest sound. When gaming I use SBX but only in stereo mode and find that this gives me the best sound direction. My ears don’t sweat as much as when I use the MMX300 but then the MMX300 are closed back. Honestly I don’t get the comments about game immersion not being that great on the DT990? I can’t say I find it an issue unless you are gaming in a noisy environment? I think you also need to spend some time tuning. The way I would have put it. If you are gaming in an environment that is a bit noisy or you have other people around, by yourself a closed back headset. If you are gaming in a quiet environment, go for open back. Your ears will appreciate it and you can tune them to give you a more closed back sound via the G6.
im thinking about getting this and replacing my A40 tr but im a little worried about the "piercing" that i keep hearing about. it it that bad?? also would these be better for in game sound for games when compared to something like astros or the arctis pro wireless?? thanks
Do not buy the arctis pro. I had them. build quality is crap. squeaks alot. sound is great but comfort and build quality is that of a $100 headset. maybe less. Id reccomend the a40s or Dt990
I just got these today. I have to say there amazing. Comfortable sound quality is amazing. But I recommend using it plugged in a stereo or an mix amp .
FINEST X RUSH I’ve always used closed back headphones. I had astros been through the a50s & a40s with tr back end of last year. Recently just due to bother with connectivity problems I’ve rathered wired over wireless just due to latency aswell. I’ve got the G X pros at the moment which are great but I’ve seen some great reviews on the 990 pros as a whole and I’m hearing more and more that open headphones give you more of dynamic/open surroundings and you have much better idea of what’s around You and pin pointing enemies if playing FPS games is night and day difference apparently? I mainly plus FPS shooters or sports games mainly so just wondered whether you could shed any light on any of this since you have them? Thanks
@@LewisM1984 unfortunately I used them for playing red dead redemption and gta5 . But honestly when I bought these was mainly for the comfort which is 100 percent, u dont even feel them on your head unlike other headset which are a lil heavy . sound quality amazing and comfort . Definitely recommend buying them u wont be disappointed. I'm from Canada and they cost 240 tax in .
Love my 990 pros with the g6, even though I barely use them. I do bust them out on my fiio btr7 though, I just wish I could mod them for balanced 4.4 lol. Maybe I’ll get a fiio k7 and pair it with that for when I use my pc.
Everything this man says is 100%. I own these and they are AMAZING for music, bad for hip hop, and not immersive in game. Yes you can hear literally every footstep which is what I need with the type of games I play but if you play something like Call of Duty, all the booms and deep sounds are pretty low. Like that feeling you get when you're in a theater and everything is rumbling? Don't expect that from these
@@elhomo6406 Yes and no. I purchased an amp which wasn't powerful enough so I plugged it into the port on my receiver since that port gets power from internal amp and that squared away my power needs. Not sure how much power it puts out but you can tell its gotta be at least 3x more power than the rockville amp that I purchased to run em originally. I can crank em till my ears hurt with no distortion so I think they are adequately powered.
Why is he talking about ducky one two mini, honestly just get a prebuilt custom keyboard like the epomaker x feker galaxy80, gaming keyboards have bumped prices because they’re “gaming” same with gaming headsets
I have closed ear headset version of this and absolutely love them. I am also looking at creative AE-9 well. What is your opinion of the wireless Audio Technica's?
anyone serious looking for the best open back headphones for gaming should look for a pair of akg 712 pro. best headphones ive ever used i feel like its end game and none of the other studio headphones i own come even close. i own 6xx, th-x00 purpleheart (rap music beasts) , dt 770 80 ohm with sheepskin leather pads dekoni... they sweet for single player immersion but fps if you wanna cheat and catch people before they catch you, akg 712 pro you will thank me later.
I console game only and have been using astro a40s for a long time. Looking to upgrade. Would the akg 712 pro work on consoles? How would you recommend setting that up with a amp/mixer? Will it still have immersive sound like my astros for single player mostly gaming? thanks.
Not this one specifically. He mentions it at the begining. The issue is the Ohm value. You want something like the DT770 32 ohm for a console I would guess
This video really helped me decide what headphones to get but if it’s posible to answer my question, can you detect enemy my hearing the foots steps (surround audio) Thanks!!
GoodMen Anakin bought the arctis 5’s as I only had a 100$ budget, these are really good for the price, surely not the best but as I said, really good, I could hear every foot step as it has 7.1, really recommend it for a 100$ budget.
The white stripes doesn't have enough bass doesn't seem up high sounds like your saying you like higher bass in r and b I like deep bass with every kind of music but these headphones go down to 5hz and treble up to 35khz but seems like you like a dull sound when these have a v shape
Probably should of mentioned that the DT990 edition has less clamping force and a straight cable, the dt990 pro uses a coiled cable and high clamping force. also the dt990 edition comes in a 600 ohm version
Would be nice to see someone with an honest view as You to try their closed headphones: DT-770 Pro 80 Ohm version. They're said to be more bassy and punchy :D
Dude I said the same thing about how they sound. I always tell people it's like being in a room that has a very high quality sound system. They sound a bit distant (not in a bad way though) you can really lose yourself in how they sound especially listening to music
I’m looking into these and the hyperx cloud mix (price isn’t important) which should I get? Or is there any other that are good (I’d most likely use them inside and in public)
How do you plan on using an amp in public? If you're gonna use something like that in public I'd just say to get some good earbuds (they're also open back so they can sound louder from the outside, not good for public)
The Techne ye I guess the pro wired is an option Is it good for Games like Rainbow six siege because if it has good directional audio then I will purchase Arctis pro wired with game dac And is the arctis 7 similar in performance besides the mic?
@@ayezz3079 the Arctis pro with dac are hands down the best I have used on ps4, for all games. very good for competitive fps as well as immersive story games,
@@ayezz3079 the 7's are great, but the pro's are just a complete different experience. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-C2_kraGEmA0.html
The Techne I didn’t realize but my nearby store ran out of arctis pro with game dac and 7’s It’s between A40’s and Arctis pro but am on the edge about them but I need great performance is arctis pro *without* game dac good as well? I could just order it online but it’s risky because am not at my house most of the day
I am looking for new a new headset or a new pair of headphones and I have no idea what to get. Do you have any recommendations? I play on ps4 and I was looking for a good gaming headset.
