No promotion, no hints, she just dropped this beautiful piece of visual art and changed the game. I was at my lowest point when Lemonade came out, I laid in bed watching for days while detoxing from years of heavy drug use. I felt reborn when all was said and done. Sober. Freedom.✨

I think lemonade is Beyoncé in her truest form as an artist. Her musical range, her artistic vision come to life. Certain people never want to see a woman of color, a black woman, so powerful and unapologetic - and that’s why they say she’s overrated. Their ignorance and narrow minds can’t accept it.

I still cant believe Beyoncé didn’t win AOTY for Lemonade. This is the definition of a magnum opus. And this song is absolutely beautiful and so emotionally resonant.

that “so we’re gonna heal” is such a profound statement. Like regardless of the past, I am CHOOSING to heal past what has hurt me. That line always makes me emotional.

I felt her soul in this song. Brings me to tears everytime. My wife and I put each other through the wringer for a huge portion of our 20 years together. At the end we had had enough and realized that what we had was stronger than anything we had to prove. We it was all said and done we had to heal and forgive one another. Its now for the past year we've been at to put our entire lives into perspective and realize what it is that we have is worth saving. I'm not trying to justify for any infidelity whatsoever but I kind of feel where they are coming from sometimes. No man or woman is perfect. I've seen both sides. Men being toxic and belligerent and the same with women. So I'm not gonna sit here on some gender slamming tirade. People need to learn to account for their bs before they can heal themselves and each other. Thats all I'm trying to say. Stop pointing fingers and examine you first. Ya feel me?

I'm rediscovering myself & this album after a particularly hard and beyond sad patch on my journey. This album is EVERYTHING!! It's my bath water music, my exorcize music. I cannot thank you enough!

I visited the plantation this was filmed on. I was actually working on transition lines and residential power lines in Napoleonville, LA. I was following our map schematic and ended up walking right into it. It’s called the Madewood Plantation. Beyoncé actually was here about six or seven weeks after we left that town. It would’ve been cool to see her for sure. Regarding the plantation itself, I couldn’t even focus and do my job. It was very heavy. The slave houses were still intact and standing. I saw a jail cell style cage. It was pretty crazy for sure. I’m from Wisconsin so I’ve never seen stuff like that in person. I’m blessed for the opportunity to have experienced such an important piece of history but it was definitely sad to wonder what life was like back then. I was digging around the power line posts, swinging this super heavy anti-electrocution shovel in the Louisiana heat, thinking dang man…people were here in this same exact spot not that long ago, busting their ass just like me, but the circumstances were much different. That was a great job as a young man. I’ll never forget the heaviness and sorrow feeling of being on that property. I believe they turned it into a hotel now, which I have an opinion on that - but it doesn’t matter. Anyways, get out and see the world…there’s tons of history out there 👍🏼

People always wonder I'm so crazy about Beyoncé and that is because she represents the part of black society that I wish people would see. There is beauty, strength, and power in a black woman. Sunkist and pure. Don't let the media or some crack head down the street paint a negative view of a black person in your mind.
