Two decades ago Beyonce was "Me, Myself, and I". She really emphasized the meaning of self-worth, self-esteem, and self-respect! This meant a lot to tens of millions of people.
@@keamogetsweramokoka9406so what that's what God says do. If you can forgive like God forgives us your on the right path. Nobody in this world is perfect that includes you. Acting like you've never forgiven someone, you may have cheated we don't know. Stop judging look in the mirror if you want to judge someone. How she lives doesn't affect your life 🙏😐✌.
Moral of the song: Love YOURSELF first, and don't think that you have the power to change your significant other. Don't tolerate sh**, as much as you love someone. Love can only do so much sometimes
This is one of her underrated songs I think, because on her debut solo album she had young, upbeat rnb songs. This was deeper, a topic that was for grown women who had been cheated on and how sad the lyrics were an eerie foreshadowing of her own life. Cheated on by him and with 3 children.
I wish I could see my old iTunes playlist on how many times I’ve played this song. 😂😂a ridiculous amount of times and not even a woman. She ran this song like a championship track meet.
I never liked this song as a child and teenager because I always thought it was ‘boring’. Fast forward to me being 25 and it’s been on repeat for the longest and I’m glad I’m old enough and experienced enough to choose myself first ❤️ Thank you Beyoncé 💗
lol. you and the song are almost the same age so how were you listening to it at the point of time in 2002? this was a hit in 2002 so what are you talking about
every girl has that time in their life when they realise... 'shit i only got me myself and i' . but thats okay, because after that we be strong and better than ever
anything from the 90's 00's was the best r&b. honestly that was peak of r&b and im so happy its slowely making its comeback because i was tired of the upbeat tempo of most songs... i loveee slow vibes
@Kat T they said ONE OF gif a damn reason. anytime something says that y’all fail to comprehend they aren’t saying it’s the greatest above everybody’s, their still giving credit to all of the other rnb great songs in history as well plus it’s their opinion
This song came out when I was a kid and it stuck with me real bad. My parents didn't raise me and left me to be bounced around with whatever family could take me in. Being my own best friend got me through it all. Still one of my faves to this day and this song has a special place in my heart
Omg hope you read this I’m a mother of 6 daughters 2 son could not imagine what you went through but to this day I prayed to live long enough to just see my children grow up to be self substantial prayers answered someone was praying for you dear may God bless and be with you always you made it strength and love and prosperity ❤
I am a grown ass 28 year old black male and I will tell you that this is one of the best songs best instrumentals best vibes in the fucking world. I will bump this on 100 in my car solo dolo with the windows down singing every word because that’s how much truth is in this song. I first heard it at 16 and now as a 28 year old I can tell you that this shit is the fucking realest. Anybody who is young rn and listening to this please don’t let shitty “friends” drain you of your talent, energy, money, and ambition. Stay to yourself and do what YOU KNOW is right. Please don’t let people drag you down or hold you back
I agree .. Literally every single song! That was the same album they told her didn't have one hit single on it. smh. What album were they listening to.. Even the fucking interlude was beautiful.
@Nia Allah Well yeah of course she's not an old woman right now but this was almost 15 years ago and she still looks the same. You can't say the same for a lot of other people.
Kayla Guzman This was back in 2003. Its almost 2016..That would make it almost 13 years ago. So...not exactly 15 years ago. But definitely not 6 years ago lol
Praying for all my beautiful women with broken hearts ! We are worth it & the strongest being God ever created !! We got his sis ! Keep pushing pray about it ❤️
Me too... when I graduated high school in 2003 this was THE CD to cop & Beyonce was Authentic .. but then again music was better period back In the 2000’s
This was my best friends favourite song. Had so many homies do her wrong, refused to be with her a couple times because she deserved more then what I had to give her. Last year she died in a car crash. Never got to tell her how much she helped me or how much I loved her. Everytime I hear this I pump it just incase she can hear it and feel how much I miss her rest in love ash I miss you girl.
@@ChelseaSaidTV Amen. I finally told someone my feelings for them which I had kept to myself for 5 years. That was foolish and playing around like my time is unlimited. NOT doing that any longer.
If you have ever been in love and lied to for a long time, been gas lit or gas lit yourself to stay with that person, this song just hits different. The power of music to make you feel like your not alone in this world🎶💜
I'm 40 and it makes sense to me too. The shit you go thru with people in life - it takes a while to realise. God bless. Stay safe and keep on loving you...❤
+willie tucker My girl played me like this hard back in the day, around the time when this song came out and MSN messenger was the shit. Lmao....man did this song really relate to me.
To be honest the destiny child one was her completely different complexion I believe they replaced in the 90s that crazy in love video she got killed and the demon clone known as Sasha fierce emerges
back in the day side chicks use to leave clues , under wear in the couch, earring under the passenger pillow, lipstick under the collar, now side chick just bold af LMAO.
I like how Beyoncé's has evolved. People all I miss this and that Beyoncé, but no two Beyoncé album sounds the same lol. in fact the unreleased songs, us, fans can instantly know which album era it was in, that's what I like about her, every time is something new, if you prefer this era of Beyoncé its cool, I love Beyoncé and I support her growth.
OMG! Thank you! Some people are like "All Beyoncé sings about now is sex" because of TWO songs: Drunk In Love & Partition. Or some people aren't fond of 7/11 because it isn't very lyrical but I continue to tell people that in order for an artist to be great, they have to EVOLVE. The reason why Beyoncé is THE TOP ARTIST of our generation is because she isn't stagnant. She sings love songs, to pop songs, to dance songs, to female-empowering songs, to sexual/grown & sexy songs. You have to respect her artistry. She's just an all-around phenomenal artist who's DIVERSE.
I had a nasty breakup when I was younger. And just like the song I was young and naive. He left me a week after I had a miscarriage and HE went on a date that same week. While I was miscarrying he was on a date,,, which I later found out.....But I Iistined to this song and it helped me get up and get me thru it.
I dont think we are going to get another 'classic' R&B album from beyonce again, the sad fact is that R&B has become music background music in the salon. However, im glad that even though the music shes making is alternative R&B its not mindless pop music, id much prefer her to experiment with different sounds like she did on the self titled album and on lemonade than get another i am sasha fierce
I like the last two albums because she's doing a sound nobody is doing now. She is doing different sounds with the music on the visual albums which isn't bad. I like it, but I do want her to make another R&B hit again, I miss her R&B music.
"Even your very best friend tried to warn me on the low." That line hits so deep... When you're his bro but you know how much of a manipulator and liar he is that you jeopardize your friendship with him to call his ass out to his girl.
I know... it was small and subtle but it was a deep and profound piece of her song...I specifically remember this part when I first heard it... When your own best friend rats you out you got serious issues
The events that she talks about in lemonade happen in her younger years during bday/i am eras, it wasnt til they remarried n got back together that she decided to let us know the tea(lemonade) jay wasnt cheating 2016 it was around 2003-2011 with songs like irreplaceable, resentment, disappear, i miss u, START OVER
I dumped him 2 days back. I feel so guilty and weak. But it had to be done I couldnt dont to myself anymore, the disrespect, I just couldn't. This song is helping me get through everything.
I sing this to myself when the closest people hurt me especially the ones I trusted with all my ❤ I learned to never give or show someone 100% of myself again
Beyoncé IS A STAR!! This album, especially this song, helped me become a woman. Might sound weird but I learned a lot from this song! Today’s kids will never know
Yeh. I love how classic original and different they were at the time like she was the it girl then especially on that 1st album. All other r&b girls u could make comparisons on the same type of music vids and songs. She’s timeless. U look back now and really appreciate how really good her songs were and still are. I been listening back on her old albums start to finish paying more attention to her vocal ranges and realise how much effort was made paying attention to every details of how she delivers vocals
