Janet is one of the best female performers ever but Beyoncé has sold more records, have more #1 songs, have more #1 albums, has more awards, albums are critically acclaimed. Beyoncé has the 2nd biggest female tour of all time (with only 56 shows) and top 10 overall. Literally Janet had none of these things so let’s me real

And I know the stereotype of New Yorkers/Jersey is that people are brash and forward, but no. I’m from California and lived for a year in NYC. People are just about business. They don’t BS. Beyoncé is great but no way is she greater than Janet Jackson. I won't even disregard Michael Jackson and Prince by stating the obvious. Dancing and jumping around naked doesn't and shouldn't make you the greatest performer of all time. The older I get the more I see how uncultured Wendy really is.

Y'all are used to vocalist with one "gimmick" beyonce is a classically trained vocalist she does more than "growling" it just that some of her songs like crazy in love or love on top are power ballads. You simply don't listen to her songs where she doesn't growl. XO, blue, otherside, jealous, etc. Also janet stays whispering on stage with no vocals lol.
If you like Beyoncé’s music, then she’s the greatest… I think she’s like, the only performer to actually sing live, always, and while dancing. That alone speaks volumes. Basically as far as her live shows, yes, they’re visually stunning; the dancing, always live vocals… but there’s room at the top for several greats. MJ. Beyoncé. Madonna. As far as pure stage presence and dedication, Tina Turner. But Beyoncé’s music is an acquired taste for some. I don’t think it has "universal appeal", unfortunately. Some of the lyrics aren’t for "everyone". Haha. Same with Madonna! Obvi! 🤣 So that’s the one thing… MJ, Tina have pretty universal lyrics.
