I’m an Arianator but I grew up listening to Beyoncé and I still do and I can’t believe some people in both fandom try to drag Beyoncé and Ariana. So to be CLEAR : they have a completely different voice and they’re both amazing , and theses two versions have their own vybe.
It’s Me its clear beyoncé has far more control over her voice so this version obviously has more bite than ariana’s. But Ariana’s has a different vibe.
Meowing Flowers ofc Beyoncé has more control over her voice because she has way more experience than Ariana but these last 2 years I feel like Ariana has improved a lot especially cause she can hit whistle notes easily
It’s Me Yes she can hit whistle notes, but Beyoncé is classically trained, and Ariana has only been taking lessons for two years. I’m not saying either version is better, but it’s the facts that Beyoncé has better control over her range than ariana.
Beyonce’s version definitely has more “oomf” and sass, but i think Ariana made it her own by making it more dreamy and like a lullaby. Its 2 different versions / styles of the song that I enjoy and can appreciate without comparison or picking one over other. thats why its art. Each artist can take something and run with it in their own creative way.
KJ Beast I think it has just enough. It’s supposed to be like a possessiveness, but maybe Bey scrapped because some people would think it’s aggressive.
@@antoniodabaddestpolk7499 it’s not a bad thing to not be “oomph” ones just aggressive while the other one is simply not I prefer the less aggressive take on the song
@@jxhanlovesuyeah but it was made for Beyonces album, so it would’ve fit if she made it for her album. The fact she cut it out of her album shows that what’s good to one person isn’t good enough for her. She’s too good.
@@loupcaldeira when people credit her they dont really credit her voice they credit her as a performer. Her voice is not given the credit it deserves. Her voice is so controlled and she has an AMAZING vocal range. And the way her voice has matured over time👌. That is basically what they mean
PRINCESS H M H I think I understand what you mean, but I think she’s never been vocally underrated, she was the lead in Destiny’s Child & at the time it was all about the voice. It was R&B. Now she’s more like a “pop” artist & unfortunately now female artists are given credit for how big their booties are more than their vocal performances. I think it’s not just Beyoncé, it’s all female artists who are vocally underrated today cause that’s not what matters anymore.
Marija Navickaite did I ever say that? U can say ur preference just don’t bring down the other preference. Like don’t say I preferred this, aris versions crap. Just leave out the aris versions crap bit if you get me
One thing about Beyonce’ she gone have the dopest arrangements and harmonies in her songs. She takes her TIME with jsut one song, that’s all her albums are classics. She makes quality albums.
ari and beyonce should do a duet version of this song a lot of people are saying they like the ari or beyonce version better but both versions are great
Aniyah& Brittany TV this song was gonna be on Bey’s self titled album that came out in 2013. Guess she didn’t want it so she passed and since Pharrell wrote and produced it he gave it to Ari and they made it her own. So yeah blue was still really wittle 🥺😭 and I think she said who messed with my baby 🧐😂
besides the great control of her voice and her skills, Beyoncé's singing has personality, that's even more advanced than having a distinctive singing style or singing with passion and emotion., she knows how own a song and give it life, something that many singers don't know how to do these days.
@SLAY MOONLIGHT Beyoncé uses melismatic , lyric , dynamic phrasing in her harmonies, each layer may have a variation in octave level. I do listen to Ariana since I love her tone but you cannot simply say that her musicality or technique is better than Beyoncé's. It's like comparing Maria Callas or Joan Sutherland to Diana Damrau, a pure, pushed reach.
This has more flavor than Ariana’s version for sure, but I like the sweetness and simplicity of Ariana’s version. It fits the album’s sound more. But I love the sassiness Bey’s version has!!!
It’s crazy because when Ari album dropped and I heard this song. I was like “oou this is a cute r&b beat something that beyoncé could’ve sung” AND THEN I FIND OUT BEYONCÉ RECORDED A VERSION OF IT SKFBKDJDD. I love that :)) Both of versions are super cute.
0:56 Her vocals in the back singing wake up are so angelic. Beyoncé should’ve released this song. Ariana version is good but Beyoncé version gives it a different vibe.
I love seeing how they both took the song “R.E.M” (Wake Up) in their own directions. Seeing how Beyoncé’s power and ground her voice had making this sound very empowering and almost sorceress like and Ariana made hers sound ethereal and wonderlandish with her soft more strong melodic voice
This is the Beyoncé sound I live for... I wish she’d release more music like this instead of songs like apeshit etc. Bey’s vocal harmonies and musicality is just impeccable.
Candie Luvv I know, she being that hip hop ish since Bug a boo! But she has went more to that hip hop side now..you know like kinda staying trap Yoncé, I love Trap Yoncé too! But I just want a good soulful ballad again and some some like this^^^ kinda like a B’day 2.0 with some 4 & self titled lol but true! No shade to Bey at all!
xxLovelyDay22xx she's had one album that was a bit more hip hop-ish. But even on that album she sang a lot. And "Lemonade" was all singing. It's weird how folks think Beyonce has just abandoned that thing that has made her great to become an MC. She's one of the most versatile artist in the game. But singing is always gonna be her thing.
CHEETAH69 I know, Lemonade isn’t a hip hop album at all! It has way more singing songs than hip hop ish songs...but she does show more ratchet bey now days, her songs isn’t necessary family friendly now days! I like my Trapyoncé but I do want more of that DIL, BDay, & 4 vibes...I know she hasn’t abandoned singing! But her vibe kinda of now days is more trapè now a beyhive member had a post saying which Bey do want more of ratchet, revolution, pop/r&b queen, & another one I can’t think of right now, & some said more “ratchet” bey, some said more of the pop/r&b Queen & etc.. but Beyoncé hasn’t really had a solo ballad that really showed off her vocals in a while, Now her vocals on perfect were so beautiful to me!!💕 Her vocals on Walk on water were so angelic & powerful!💕 This song here Wake up is so great to me! I love the feel good vibes , I like the upbeatness then it slows down then it gets back upbeat! Kinda give me 90’s vibes... btw I’m bumping EIL right now lol💕
@@Lovelydays4ever did you really listen lemonade? Beacuse sandcastle, pray you catch me, love drought and all night are right there! And seftitled had heaven, xo, pretty hurts, blue, no Angel and rocket.... you all are annoying saying beyonce has stopped signing when it's not true, what some of you want is beyonce to sing those boring ed sheeran type of ballad!!
Ari’s version is for like the little girls who day dream about their crush And Beyoncé’s version is for the women who know they finna get married to they man 👏🏼😍
I’m an Arianator but this feels like so matured like Ari’s for us, teens, who dream about their crush while this Bey’s version sounds like for woman who’s ready to marry her bf or a wife reminiscing the moments w/ her husbands. Both are wonderful and have diff vibes
KingofMeereen No shit. They’re two different people, with two different voices. They’re both amazing, but I prefer Ari’s and if you can’t deal with my opinion go vent somewhere else
hate i don’t think it’s hating on your opinion. I think they are pointing out southern colloquialisms that Ari nor others could carry like a singer from the south, preferably Bey. “Aye Der, boi “ isn’t exactly northeast. Lol both versions are great but as a WOC I’m glad AG didn’t say it. I would have cringed.
I like both versions. Ariana’s has a softness that I think the bey version lacks but I feel like bey also has something ari lacks and the ending of this is so cute.
ari does have softness , but just because bey didn’t wanna use it in wake up does mean it lacks it, it just means bey didn’t wanna use softness in this song . it’s great how it is, so using the word lacks is absurd .
@@banheesos I like bey’s version but it doesn’t really fit the bold power that Beyoncé has in most of her songs. It perfectly fits Ari’s light and soft angelic voice
[Intro] I don't wanna wake, wake [Verse 1] Excuse me? Um, I love you Who starts a conversation like that? Boy you're such a dream to me, yeah, yeah [Outro: Beyoncé & Blue Ivy] *Baby Noises* Ma ma, ma ma (Don't mess with my baby They better not mess with my baby)
killa sk Beyonce is wayyy more thuggish - tasteful- smooth and soulful. Ariana’s “swaglessness” ruins it. The way Beyonce annunciates and the swing she adds to the way she sings it adds a completely different atmosphere and feeling to it. Ariana’s does not have the soul and blackness to sing this song LOL.
@@flexulant did you really just call beyonce thuggish?? and described Ariana with swaglessness? Ariana's sounds a lot more like R.E.M. than Beyonce's does.
But Beyoncé’s runs and harmonies are completely next level. The songs are completely different honestly the “Nananananana” that Bey does throughout the song is so heavenly.
They are both beautiful in their own way, but this version gives me such a big nostalgia to Beyoncé's 4 era: Such classic yet modern sound that kinda reminds you of the 90's classics with really pure and strong vocals.
I love both, I prefer Ari's because it's a bit dreamier and more of a warm, starry lullaby. I think Ari sang the chorus in a gentler way. I definitely want Bey to come back to this style though, reminds me a lot of 4 (which is her second best album after self-titled imo)
This is the most civil comment section I’ve seen in a while and I love that. I haven’t seen anyone go “_______’s version sucks!!! _______’s version is way better!!!!” Like everyone is sharing their opinion and giving an explanation why and I love that no one is dragging anyone else 😁 But in my opinion, I like both. This has more sassiness to it and spice but Ariana’s is simple and sweet and fits her album better. 💛
It's amazing how three different people can sing the same exact note, and they will reach come out sounding COMPLETELY different based on timbre/tonality, nasality and other vocal nuances that I don't even know. The voice is truly amazing.
cheetos ff ik that hun, that still doesn’t take from my comment that it was originally for Beyoncé to sing and that she let Ari sing it. My comment wasn’t even negative or involved Pharell so idk why your comment was needed.
At the end of the song I cried when I heard the baby cry and Beyoncé calm the infant down and hear the baby call her momma this reminds me of my own mom and the baby videos of me with her she is still alive but she could have been gone and this reminds me to be happy she is around now. Btw sorry if this is a long comment.
I’m conflicted because this sounds so good but I prefer Ariana’s version? Like I can use Ariana’s version as a lullaby and for a song called REM I think that’s very fitting. Her vocals are softer than B’s and I think it just works better. Idk
Sorry Beyoncé version is so much more creative. She’s doing so much vocally and it makes you want to listen to the song over and over to analyse ever bit of it. It’s amazing.
