Beyond All Reason Beginners Guide (BAR) 

Can i select spawnpoints for me and my allys in singleplayer? I know that i can chose my spawn ingame. But is there a way to select the spawn for my allys? Love your game!

@@o0O0ooO0Oo No selecting of spawnpoint for allies yet. In our new Lobby/Client system we might be able to get preset-fixed position in the battle-room-setup.

I just found this game and I"m absolutely loving it. Its even closer to TA than SupCom was. I love Supcom, but TA was always my favorite if not for some outdated UI and aspect ratio stuff from it being so old. I'm so happy this game exists and its ridiculous that its free.

dude I play it all the time, I didn't like SupCom at all, I bought it and it was nothing like TA. This is basically TA in modern times, glad you like it. Insane to me that it's free as well, I think at some point they will be selling it and the amount of work put into it and new maps put out to play on I'll gladly pay@@Zectifin

If they want to waste their micro on that, be my guest. Wouldn't all the metal they just gained just go right back into the repair? If not, this would be an extremely easy fix to that issue, just make it so that the two are equal metal out and metal in. If it's not that way then it is kinda stupid anyway, because what would be the justification for it to behave any other way. Also, I can salvage something partially and then run away with that salvage when ebemies show up, that is how it works in reality, so this making you wait until the end is an extremely weak solution. In fact, my systems makes 1 trillion times more sense than the one you say is in the game. It's almost like they didn't take time to think that through at all. If I could code I would begin re-working that system immediately.

It is a 1:1 recreation of TA, started by the people who made Balanced Annihilation. BAR originally was "Balanced Annihilation Remake" but Beyond All Reason is way cooler hah. They've since added some new stuff that changes it from TA, but originally it was 1:1 (including all the unit names).

They even copied some of the goofy damage particle effects from TA and just made them better.

TA came out 10 years before Supreme Commander, I believe. Or did you mean that BAR is a spiritual successor to SupCom?

Against bots? Just make a few powerful t1 units from the get go and walk your commander across the map within the first few minutes. Then kill enemy units and economics while building a worker at your base. You'll have eco and units, and the ai will have nothing, you then easily win.

Update: Been frustrated by a few players constantly checking my base, telling me everything I’m doing wrong, then complaining at game’s end. They could be more useful giving suggestions or just bugging off altogether. Always 1-2 jerks like that per game.

Odd how my defense 1st strategy was ridiculed a while ago, but is a common tactic now. 😆

As any game, I would expect the latest to expand upon the last. SC was great, TA before that, RA, CC, yada yada. That said, I like all the extra click & drag options for unit management in BAR., an improvement over everything before it.

Supcom is based on Total Annihilation/TA. Balanced Annihilation/BA was a TA mod, and BAR follows BA. They are more like cousins.
