Filipinos are one kind of non-violent people and that is what makes them stands out, and they can adapt an assimilate anywhere in the world. Their loyalty, kindness, caring and generosity is also beyond measure.

the good thing about filipinos we integrate we respect and adopt to the cultures of our host country in return for giving us a good life we pay them in return with our loyalty and hard work :)
During the dark days of the Holocaust, Philippines provided shelter, food and basic necessities of 1,200 survivors who took refuge in the Philippines. This year, one Filipino offered the supreme sacrifice of losing his life while bravely defending the Jews and their nation. My thanks for the Knesset and the Israeli government for showing compassion to the surviving parents of one of their heroes.🙏
Your insight is appreciated. Mr. Basilio's story indeed reflects this dual loyalty - honoring his Filipino heritage while embracing Israel, his son's home and final resting place. It's this complex identity that makes his case both unique and universally touching. Thank you for understanding the depth of the situation.
Thank you for your compassionate response. While we share your hope, Mr. Basilio's citizenship struggle is still ongoing. We will continue to update the community on the progress of this case and our efforts to change the Citizenship Law in Israel for such cases.

Our whole Jewish nation should hold our heads down in shame for not immediately giving the Father citizenship, we are bound by blood to this family for what they have sacrificed for our country.

My opinion: Why not simply bring your son remains in the Philippines if your reason is to be close to him. I would rather choose to live in the Philippines, why ? Because in Israel there is always a threat of conflict between Israel and neighboring Countries. I would rather choose to stay in the Far East to be surrounded by Filipinos ... when you get old in Israel you need a caregiver to take care of you, but in the Philippines you have many relatives.
One reason is he can still work and earn more in israel to help his family in the Philippines once he gets old he will maybe retire in the Philippines or stay in israel because of the benefits of being an israeli citizen like pension and free medical care. Also, him being an israeli citizen maybe its easier for his children in the Philippines to go to israel too. If some of his children becomes professionals like nurses, doctors or engineers maybe its easier for them to find work in israel because their dad is already a citizen im not sure. Anyway, filipinos are hardworking people and they integrate well so its also good for israel to have filipinos working for them. I just hope that he will continue looking after the mom of cedric too she needs his support. Praying for all of them 🙏 ❤️
But it's better to have a dual citizenship though. ISRAELI - For economic purposes PH - If incase the worst scenario happened (crossed fingers) to Israel.

Thank you for your supportive comment. We agree that Mr. Basilio's case deserves careful consideration. Cedric's sacrifice for Israel is deeply respected, and we understand the importance of allowing his father to be close to his final resting place. While the citizenship process is complex and takes time, we hope for a resolution that honors Cedric's memory and recognizes his family's profound loss. We appreciate your concern for the Basilio family. It reflects the compassion many feel towards those who have lost loved ones serving Israel.
Thank you for your heartfelt comment. It's wonderful to see the connection between Filipinos and Israel. Your love for Israel shows how bonds can form across cultures and distances. This kind of understanding and support is invaluable. May God bless you and the Blessing of Jerusalem be with you.

I have friends a married couple. They are Canadians. They are not Jewish. They lived in Israel. Contributed greatly to Israel. Were not given citizenship.
Permanent resident is different from citizenship. I have a similar situation in Mexico with my son. While I can’t have citizenship, I can be a permanent resident with a green card. My son is disabled and cannot represent himself so they’ve made me his official guardian. I’d say go for permanent residency. The Filipinos are an asset wherever they go, God bless everyone. ❤
Thank you for your heartfelt comment. We're touched by your expression of support for Israel. While we deeply appreciate your sentiment, it's important to note that Israeli citizenship is a complex matter governed by specific laws and regulations. However, your support for Israel as an Indonesian Christian is valued and appreciated. There are many ways to connect with and support Israel without citizenship, such as visiting as a tourist. God bless you for your kindness and support. May Jerusalem's blessings shine upon you.

Israelis are always welcome in the Philippines. We have **always** and will always support the right of the Jewish people to exist and thrive, and the state of Israel as your homeland since the beginning. Sending love and best wishes and prayers for safety to all Israelis. I hope you guys know that in this world of such illogical and vitriolic hatred and antisemitism, that you have family by spirit you can always rely on to fight your corner and give you the recognition you deserve, and you have another home here in the Far East that you’re always welcome in. And we don’t just say that. We mean it.❤
Thank you for your deeply heartfelt message. Your unwavering support for Israel and the Jewish people truly touches our hearts. We're profoundly grateful for the Philippines' consistent friendship "since the beginning," including the crucial help provided to Jewish refugees during World War II - an act we'll never forget. Your offer of "family by spirit" and "another home in the Far East" is incredibly moving. In a world often challenged by conflict, such solidarity is precious. May our special bond continue to flourish. Your support strengthens us, and we hope to always reciprocate this warmth and friendship. Thank you for standing with Israel so firmly. May God bless you and the Filipino people, and may our friendship continue to be a light of hope and unity in the world.

The Philippines welcomed Jewish refugees during WWII under our late president Manuel Quezon even before the state of Israel was reborn. Later, the Philipines voted in the UN for the rebirth of the Jewish homeland in 1948.
Thank you for highlighting this important historical connection between the Philippines and Israel. The Philippines' support for Israel's rebirth as a state in 1948 through its UN vote further solidified this friendship. It was a crucial backing at a pivotal moment in our history. We are forever grateful for the Philippines' role in Jewish and Israeli history. May this spirit of friendship and support continue to flourish between our nations.
Thank you for your compassionate response. You've captured the heart of Mr. Basilio's tragic situation. Indeed, it's a deeply moving story. Mr. Basilio's separation from his young son, followed by the ultimate loss of Cedric in service to Israel, is truly heartbreaking. This case highlights the complex human stories behind immigration policies and the sacrifices made by families of soldiers. Cedric's choice to serve in the IDF, despite his father's earlier deportation, speaks volumes about his commitment to Israel. Now, Mr. Basilio's struggle to remain close to his son's final resting place adds another layer of poignancy to this already emotional story. Thank you for engaging with this important and touching story.
Thank you for your heartfelt message of support. Your prayers and good wishes for Israel's safety are deeply appreciated. Your words reflect the kind of solidarity and compassion that strengthens us all. Israel faces many challenges, and knowing that people around the world are praying for our safety is a source of comfort and strength. We believe in the power of prayer and the protection of God. May your kindness be returned many times over, and may the blessings of peace and security extend to all people.

He got his citizenship, which is mentioned later on in the video. He cheated yes but sometimes when you live alone in a foreign country you get lonely sometimes depressed etc and many things can happen that are not planned. We dont know their whole circumstances. There are many benefits of becoming an israeli citizen and he can still continously support and visit his family in the Philippines while also supporting cedric's mom. It's a complicated situation but lets be kind and wish them all the best nobody is perfect 🙏 ❤
We dont really know their whole circumstances. Maybe he went to israel to work so he can support his family in the Philippines. Sometimes when you are alone in a foreign country you get lonely etc and meet other people sometimes things happen that are not planned in life. Being an israeli citizen have many benefits for him and he can continuously help his family in the Philippines and also support cedric's mom too. Easier for him to travel back and forth and his family in the Philippines can also visit him in israel. He said both sides are ok with it. Wish them the best 🙏 ❤

Yeah it’s so hard to lose someone we love. What about the Gazans? what about remaining family members? Can you imagine how they feel? They are human being same like us, they lose everything, parents, grandparents, sons, daughters, grandkids, lands, houses, futures.
Thank you for sharing your perspective on this complex situation. While we understand your point about family ties, Mr. Basilio's case is deeply personal and unique. The desire to be close to a child's grave is a profound emotional need for many parents, transcending national boundaries. In this case, it's not about choosing between families, but about honoring his son's sacrifice and legacy. This situation highlights the complexities of modern families, military service, and immigration. While Mr. Basilio has ties to the Philippines, his connection to Israel through his son's life and death is equally significant. We encourage viewing this case with empathy, recognizing the deep emotional bonds that can exist across borders. Every family's story is unique, and sometimes, the concept of "home" can encompass more than one place. In other words, never judge people until you've walked in their shoes!
It's not a judgement. Life is celebrated in different ways. He can honour his beloved even with his passing, by spending meaningful time with those who are still alive.
Well, i cannot reconcile the idea of getting israeli citizenship just to be able to see his son's grave. What about the family back in the Philippines? Seems non sense. If he be proved oh his paternity, he could apply for a visit visa and the gov't could just privilege him of a visit visa. He is not going to stay there forever. His real family is in the Philippines. His stay in Israel with his "ex-lover" would just create psychological problems in his legal family in the Philippines. There's no legal basis at all. Where does the moral obligation here? Now only spiritual obligation he has for his dead son. You don't leave the 99 sheep just to look for the lost one. Heroism is patriotism, protecting one's country. But if is occupying one's territory, i don't see any sense at all. Imao
Their situation is more complicated than that. There are benefits of becoming an israeli citizen and he can always continue supporting and visiting his family in the Philippines while supporting cedric's mom too. His family can also visit him in israel and some of his kids will maybe find work in israel someday. It's a complicated situation but lets be kind and wish them the best in life 🙏 ❤
Never forget the help that the Philippines extended to Jewish refugees when no countries wanted to take them in. Addendum: There is the Open Doors Monument in Tel Aviv that commemorates the open door policy that Philippine President Manuel Luis Quezon extended to the Jewish refugees.
Thank you for your important reminder. You're absolutely right about this significant chapter in our shared history. In 1939, when many countries closed their doors, Philippine President Manuel Quezon took a brave and compassionate stand. He opened the Philippines' arms to over 1,300 Jewish refugees fleeing Nazi persecution in Germany and Austria, welcoming them to the island nation. This act of humanity, at a time when much of the world turned its back, saved countless lives. This remarkable gesture of compassion created a lasting bond between our nations. It's a shining example of the Philippines' commitment to human rights and its willingness to extend a helping hand in times of great need. We in Israel remember this generosity with profound gratitude. This important part of our shared history continues to strengthen the friendship between Israel and the Philippines today. May we always honor this legacy of support and compassion between our nations.
The role of the Philippines from hollcaust to save the lives of jews and accept them as refugees(the only country in asia to accept them) to the establishment of the nation Israel in 1948 who gives the crucial vote.. God bless Israel
I know. That's what i thought. There are millions of Filipinos born outside of the country like SAudi or Arab nations, but they go home to the Philippines. They are escaping poverty in the Philippines. That's all.
