Beyond Caravaggio at National Gallery 

My favorite painter by far, the movement shown in the paintings, like time stood still, it was captured perfectly as if he had a camera.

What always strikes me about his pieces is the darkness of the subject matter.(and im summarizing a lot) Also, to me, his mastery of fabric is just mind blowing. I don't see how crappy paintings like Monet and ( i know this is blasphemy buutttt.. Van Gogh, can even hang in the same gallery as his later works. But yeah..that's just my opinion and art preference. Remember.. art is subjective contingent upon the viewer.

He had training. He was also a genius.
