I used to think that Omega level mutants were near gods and the height of the mutant race, then I saw all these reality warpers and all those who got upgraded to Omega and I realized that now Omega just means you can actually be part of the main X-man team.
@Open Mind Closed Fist EXACTLY! That's what I'm saying! IF he can just do that to Colossus, and not even break a sweat doing it, he's in the upper tier easily. Strength wise, Colossus ain't no slouch.
here some things id like to see you cover the apocalypse/death seed the astral plane ghost riders the concept of and what happened to mutants not being able to harm blood relatives with their powers the destroyer armor rachel summers(omega talk) elixir(omega level mutants) Quentin Quire(omega level mutants and his destiny as the phoenix host)
What about the black vortex? You know the mcguffin that makes any character basically beyond omega level. Then we could have an omega level video about those who have used it, like omega/beyond omega level black vortex ronan the accuser for instance.
I feel like over the many years we're told just how powerful Xavier is without ever really see many displays of power. It always just seems like the threat of this abilities or used to compare other telepaths to as if he were a yard stick. I'd love some insight into just what kinda stuff was he capable of or moments when he really came through against the odds
Yeah...they made this exception almost a rule :Bradock became one..Gambit..Storm...and a load of others..so they had to come with Proto... I always found this move very 90's...
@@FatStarZzzz to be fair when you think about it Storm makes sense. Of being omega level means possibly being a planetary threat or having a power with no definitive limit then Storm is perfect for it
I know it's going to seem like a weird idea but I'm also curious about some of the lower level mutants. Especially ones with more abstract powers. Maybe you can do videos about them in the future?
Crazy how 4 of the most powerful entities in Marvel are super normal human looking dudes. I wonder if they're based on writers or other members of the creative team. (Franklin Richards probably being an exception). 😂😂
I say follow your heart. Stories, Comics Explained, Beyond Omega Level Mutants, Character Analysis...look, I can only speak for me, but just keep doing your thing Rob, I'm enjoying all of it.
thank you Rob this is what I'm used to as far as your story telling, this story you when off topic to explain things that were relevant to the subject; but you came right back to it several times! This is the stuff I love!
I think Gabriel Shepard is able to beat Mathew Malloy because he actually can control his powers. Gabriel Shepard could go back in time just like Xavier and stop his parents from meeting. From what little we've seen of Gabriel Shepard is all that his feats didn't even come off as difficult for him. He Stopping time, healed someone, and created a massive emp burst.
Okay Legion, Hyperstorm, Marquis of Death, Mad Jim Jasper's, Mikhail Rasputin, Emma Frost, Elixir, Takeo Sasaki, Nate Grey, Decimus Furius, Proteus, Meggan, Storm, Iceman, Jamie Braddock jnr, Hope Summers, Stryfe, Cable, you probably have done the rest. Even if you have done Elixir he has much stronger powers now.
Omega level mutants (sorry if i missed some ) Emma Frost Jean Grey Gabriel Shepherd Franklin Richards Vulcan Summers Kid omega ice man Hope summers legion Mister M Psylocke Nate Grey Elixir Rachel summers Santa Claus Mathew Malloy Mad Jim jasper's
Love your work Rob. Been subscribed since back when your channel was just Marvel Explained. You've covered alot of great DC characters and stories since then, but I surprised after all this time youre still over looking one of the most iconic, fendish, and intimidating characters within the DC landscape! One of Batmans greatest foes and largest threat to the DC universe. WHY IS THERE NO VIDEO FOR KITE-MAN!
I have watched and re-watched so many of Rob's videos. I ran into a fan of Rob's at my favorite brewery tonight, and we geeked out about our love of comics and the way/love Rob lends to our fandom.
Imo this guy should be most powerful/capable mutant, because he seems like the most mentally stable mutant with that much power on him, unlike matthew the cry baby or franklin richard who sometimes is depicted as a child.
How is Hulk considered a beyond Omega level threat? It seems they can disassemble things at an atomic level, so what's to stop them from just turning him into "fresh mountain air" or something like that?
Alex Moen He has been shown to have some resistance to molecular changing (people have tried to turn his body to stone, didn't work). Against someone like Gabriel, it might not be a strong enough resistance, but it's something
Well not even Xavier is really capable of messing with Hulk's head, he's actually immune to most forms of telepathy, unless they themselves are just omega level or beyond omega level.
Way back in the Original Series, you also had the concept of Neo Mutants. People wherein close proximity to Mutants activated their X-Gene. Next comes regular Mutants There are Mutates, Genetically engineered Mutants There are the Proto Mutants and the Externals, that Rob covers here. Then there are The Neo & The Goth, who are yet another Mutant subspecies. Nina and The Mannities, Sentient Mutant Nano Machine AI (Kind of) Lastly there is Vargas, the Perfected Human genome. You will note that all of these concepts are used and forgotten within one-two story arcs.
Grant Morrison _intended_ him to be Magneto, in disguise. X-editorial didn't like that idea and retconned him to be an impostor, corrupted by the drug Kick aka Sublime. He has a brother, Shen Xorn, that debuted after New X-Men, with a similar powerset. Whereas the original Xorn was said to have a Living star for a head and a huge array of powers EG healing, incinerating eye blasts etc Shen Xorn had a black hole for a head and a selection of Gravity based powers also. Both very powerful. Neither really used since their introductions.
i don't understand what he's talking about being tired, he never just tells the story he explains every single thing. i love this channel it just gets tiring of Rob over explaining everything so much that he repeats himself over & over in most. just listen to him go off on something he's explaining and you'll hear him repeat when there's no need to. i wish he would just tell the story with a limited amount of explanation sometimes. oh well im a big fan so i will keep watching.
Eh... maybe that works with some of them. I usually either ignore or make fun of people typing all caps. I certainly don't take them seriously. ;) But that's probably just me... most RU-vidrs are probably much nicer than myself...
Hi Rob, often I question this.... When you got a bunch of omega level mutants, people or entities...are they able to detect when one is changing the universe around them. Like are they aware when someone is making a change to the multiverse. Or even wipe out another omega with a single tought and wipe them. It would be interseting to know if each of these beings has a detection device or awareness that can monitor all these powerfull being and they can prevent eachother from causing havoc if one of them goes beserk. How does this work, any thoughts on this
If you want something that can give content for a good while, here's an idea to play with: What if the various big events took place in a different comic universe at any time with whatever canon at the time - some characters could change to fit the story a bit Example - Infinity Gauntlet in the DC universe Not much of a DC fan, but I imagine the best equivalent for Infinity Stones would be the various Lantern power sources or the embodiments of the spectrum that are somehow captured into gems. Someone made a deal with Nekron(or Death of the Endless) to kill off half the universe (to make an army to take on other universes or balance or something). That person then manages to steal/duplicate the power sources of all the other Lantern Corps and channel it into a gauntlet with powers WAY beyond any single Lantern could even dream of - think White Lantern as host to ALL entities and throw Black Lantern in there as well for absolute power. Then speculate how heroes(and a few villains) would try to stop them Same goes with Infinite Crisis, though there are already some similarities to start with - single antimatter universe/negative zone with multiple 'normal' universes - so have an Annihilation event in DC (Either led by a weaker Anti-Monitor with army or Yellow Lanterns from Qward), or take the Annihilation event and turn Annihilus's power up to 11 to do almost everything himself
I wish the notes of your videos had notes of all the issues you reference. Like I would like to read the comics that Gabriel Shepherd were in. Your passing references to the issues is not enough for me to be able to pin it all down.
hey rob, i dont know if you'll see this. but can you cover the kind of sentinels that have appeared in the x-men comic books? even some who came out in events like the ones that red onslaught made in axis that he stole from tony stark and so on. that is if he can come up wih a video for it. it cuht my attention because both teams of xmen blue and gold encountered new kinds of sentinel. LIKE THIS SO THAT ROB CAN SEE THIS!
This might sound silly, but can someone explain to me the difference between mutants and say Spider-Man, because both have superpowers that were granted to them due to the celestials tampering with their DNA, yet mutants are hated while Spider-Man and other heroes like him are celebrated.
Bryguy150 Spiderman is some times hated and mutans are people born with special abilities and superheros with spacial abilities usually get there powers some time around there life because some thing gave it to them lets say for example when hulk with gama radiation. Also when there genes get activated there are also called mutates like spiderman and deadpool
Mutants are moreso feared than Spiderman, purely because one some mutants are grotesque in appearance, but moreso, because they are thought to be the next stage in human evolution, and because of this humans fear being replaced.
