At the world pokemon championship, a huge move update was announced. This includes nerfing super strong moves like wing attack, counter, and steel wing. It also reduces the switch clock from 60 to 50 seconds.
Astonish got a huge buff and now Drifblim corebreaks a lot of the great league meta.

I probably misspoke. I don't think there are a ton of dark. Mandibuzz and malamar will be everywhere but umbreon and guzzlord are going to be less used

TBH shadow alolan sandslash is quite useful if your team isn't core broken by taloneflame or machamp (haven't encountered much of pangoros), feraligatr is tricky because they outspam you.

I think Abomasnow is good corebreaker in this meta. Wins against dragons, ground, water, flying and grass are great and lack of fighters and fire pokemon helps alot also. 👍🏻

I think an underrated Pokémon is lurantis. I really like it because it outpaces feraligator (9 turns to a leaf blade vs 10 turns to a hydro) and wins CMP. Lear blade is the most busted move in the game outside of flying press and furry cutter is double super effective against malamar

I'm loving Drifblim so far. Here's what I think about fast moves. Hex for normal Drifblim. The energy gain is to good. Astonish for shadow because that damage adds up fast.

My brain also defaults to two turns moves. I think it is because two turns is one second and that is easier to think about. Great dives onto the new meta

i've been calling it the season of chunk, lots of 3-turn fast moves like astonish and mud slap, and even fire spin now chunk a lot, it feels a bit as if they "charm"ified other typings. I know charm is stronger, but these moves are a not as slow as charm, but they do chunk a lot too. By the time i'm throwing a move, i end up baiting since the opponent mon is already at half health

Dan you didn't talk about the trailblaze buff on shadow giraff. Of you noticed it requires only one more confusion after psychic fangs to reach trailblaze. Also if it's possible can you do shadow skunktank video because uniquely it reaches crunch and trailblaze at the same time and since poison jab is hard hitting fast move it really chunks

I ran it and wasnt convinced. Astonish damage is great, but it just takes too long to reach the charge moves, which makes neutral matchups a little awkward. Played 15 battles with this thing, and saw a lot of dark types, mainly mandibuzz, but also umbreon was around quite often. And then you have you normal type rollout users that are on like every second team you face. Personally I think abomasnow and Aslash are more viable „core breakers“. as they have better play in both neutral and bad matchups

I think it was HSH who made a great point, the meta triangle at this point appears to be clod/mud slapper, gatr and Mandi, so anything that has play into 2 or more is top anti meta, anything that beats one is kinda so so to use, and anything that loses to all 3 is basically unusable. And it’s real true thinking about what I see in my own sets. You’re right that steel doesn’t really exist and I think it’s cause it has no play into that triangle.

I love driflblim this season, its resistances and moveset make it really good against a lot of the meta. I’m not sure how you went so many sets without seeing a feraligator though lol 😂

Tbh there isnt a usable steel type in this meta, skarmory got nerfed empoleon gets destroyed my the meta and got nerfed, registeel gets destroyed by the meta and got nerfed, your best option is steelix and that also gets destroyed by most of the meta

Ferrothorn isn’t a bad choice, but you need to fight for your life for switch advantage. Any fighting or fire type will eat it alive, especially diggersby with fire punch and driftlim’s mystical fire Edit: Registeel is still a good choice too. Nerf was very small

For me the zap cannon had a 0% chance of debuffing. My opponents always debuff me with zap cannon and my regi never hits debuff even after 4 zap cannon in the same game. So the changes don't matter to me that much.

so Dan did good with this team i just put the team at pvpoke am here are the results Coverage = F (very poor) Bulk = B (good ) Safety = C (Limited Safe) Consistency = B ( not to bad) LOL, Drifblim doesn't have a game in this meta, but why not if it works for some too many? I am playing a Dark Double Normal! it is working it is getting a worse record in PvPoke! LOL
