Besides the lyrics of the geet, the presence of celebrities of the past including Muneeza Baseer Hassan, the teenager little Nazia Hassan, Zohaib Hassan, usman Pirzadah, Shamim Hilali, Just don’t ignore the ecstasy of the composition by the great and one and only “uncle” Suhail Rana. Thank you so much for uploading this clip. I used to live in North Nazimabad where the title of this film was written with chalk on the hills nearby. It is almost 45 years but I never got to see this film nor its Urdu version, though the thought remained active for a long, long time. This clip has suddenly ignited an element of rejuvenation and the great memories of the 1970s have sprung alive. I hope I can somehow get to see the complete movie! But I have seen Ramchand Pakistani, another masterpiece from your production house. I also read in newspapers about this movie and also saw full page advertisement in newspapers. I never got the chance to see this movie. Now your feelings took men about 46-47 years back. That was a golden era of Pakistani film industry.
Beautiful & nostalgic! reminded me of the childhood memories of marriage ceremonies of khalas, mamoos ,phuppos and chachoos... those beautiful slaying colours of dresses,the gota work, saaris,ghararas, simple yet classy ceremonies. Long dholkies,the elegant classic jewelry, simple rasm e Hina. My Nano always looked so beautiful when she wore saaris on such occasions, her style of carrying saari was just so perfect,,, Thank you for sharing 🙂
Wow....amazing.... But such Mehndis were held in Upper class mostly... not even in the upper middle!!!... .. Middle class Maayun Mehndis were very simple in mid 70s till early 80s.... But after the Bollywood Boom the Dance numbers took over the traditional Tappey n dances...... and In this Era.... Mayun Mehndis have turned into "Shehndi".... remember Show off is a must if you have tons of Money.....

Oh my goodness! I am speechless, in awe and mesmerized by the finesse of every scene. These brilliant people, clothes and intricate jewelry. I mean, what have I just seen is unbelievable - I think this video is a dream. But I also wish that I have never seen this work- as I have become very sad to realized the potential, the class of Pakistan and how it has crashed..
I was fortunate to watch this classic movie on first day when it was released. Watching Peeru and rest of the cast bring back very nostalgic times in Karachi. Javaid Jabar sahaib my senior from school produced this master piece movie way before its time. Thank you Mahreen, you must be so proud of your dear Dad.
Pakistani especially Indian migrated urdu speaking families, had such a beautiful and rich culture. They were simple, beautiful, healthy, well mannered and above all close to Deen. I can see the wife of Ishtiaq Ahmed Akbar, the lead cameraman of this film. Beautiful era of Pakistani culture and society as a whole.
The cream of urdu speakers migrated to Pak & left the majority of lower middle class & lower class of their ethnicity at the mercy of saffronized gits in bharat.

Very nice and nostalgic childhood memories. Decent women Muniza Baseer,Shamim HilaIi,Nazia and many were there.Still remember the title 'Beyond the Last Mountain' written on the hills of Mount Solomon. Part of the film was shot on KCR's hilly route. I wish I could watch it again. Ms Mehreen Jabbbar is requested to upload the digital version of the 'Musafir' at earliest.
Mehreen you look so cute in the beginning as a child artiste. I see many familiar faces like Shamim Hilali who was the heroine of this film with usman Peerzada as the male protagonist. Then there's Muneeza baseer mother of the late pop icon nazia Hasan. And Beo Zafar who just worked in the movie Cake. I remember watching this film as a child. Released both in English as Beyond the last mountain and urdu as Musafir
