Another interesting video. Thanks, Dave. I really enjoy the music of Harry James and Glenn Miller. They both died too young.

Hi, I saw Ruffin sing when I lived in Pittsburgh. He could really sing

Nice!

As soon as you said Jimmy Ruffin, I started singing, "What becomes of the broken hearted...." I immediately checked and was surprised to find it was him who did sang it. This was before you showed the tombstone. Guess it was stuck somewhere in my 69 year old brain. If someone had just asked me who sang it, I would have been clueless. But this happens to me occasionally.

You are awesome. This whole video was done in one take. I'm very happy you like it and felt led to comment.

Celia -Don't worry! It happens to all of us. It just means our brains are still working & the memories are all still there when we want to access them.

Harry James married to Betty Grable for several years. He could really Play the Horn.
@famousgraveswithdiamonddave
Yes, and they had 2 daughters.

DD, what becomes of the broken hearted was covered by Hall and Oates. big band music was responsible for al the ball rooms that went up . I think I would have enjoyed those nights. When Harry James played his trumpet that was like the electric guitar solo of it's day.
@famousgraveswithdiamonddave
Very good info. I couldn't think of H&Os and you are right. I'm getting more comments about Harry James than the others. I wish Vegas Lounge acts would become popular again.

@@famousgraveswithdiamonddave I manged a liquor store for an old Italian Guy name Nick Mancini next door to his restaurant. Inside was his new 'Vegas lounge" complete with the half circle red padded seats. Nick loved and frequented Las Vegas and just had to have that in St. Paul. He had Tony Bennett for $`10,000 for one night to open it up in"87. While I was there he had Tommy Sands who was Nancy Sinatra's ex. Years after I left he had Jake Lamotta for one night. All this Vegas night club talk makes me want to go back time and become a lounge rat wise guy " Man those were the days, booze, broads, drinks and plenty of action!" I told you the cocktail waitresses were off limit, now youz gotta go fishin;' in Lake mead."

Hey Dave! Do you remember a LV singer named Chewey who used to play at The Continental in the 80's-90's? I heard he died but I'm not sure when exactly. He was a local legend back then.
@famousgraveswithdiamonddave
No, I don't. I remember Billy Ledbetter who played at Sam's Town. He moved back to Louisiana. we have the same last name but not sure if related. We talked a few times and once by phone when he moved away. Died of prostate cancer probably 15 -18 yrs ago. I'm in Glendale now. Filming Forrest Lawn and then a Manson run Sunday hitting 6 cemeteries, hopefully, depending on traffic. I'll check out Chewey.

@@famousgraveswithdiamonddave Be careful if there's rain anywhere. People drive stupid in LV in the rain but in CA? If a raindrop hits their windshield, they slam on the brakes. On the highways, rain seems to make them drive faster so please be careful! If you have time, you may want to take a side trip to Palm springs too. Frank is there plus many others. Being that you're doing a Manson run, in PS, Doris Day's cafe is still open. It's called Terry's I believe after her son. He's the one Charlie really wanted to kill but didn't realize he had moved out & Sharon & Roman had moved in. Are you going to hit Hollywood Forever cemetery too? You should, even if just for yourself. I love that Jack Lemmon & Walter Matthou are both there, not far from each other. I still love watching their movies! Seems like most go there for Marilyn. Dean Martin is there plus so many more! Wish I was able to walk with you but I'll wait to watch your videos. I'm glad you do them for those of us who can't. Have fun!

@@famousgraveswithdiamonddave You're the best! I'll look it up. Funny but we've never met & I only discovered your channel the other day but I feel like we're old friends. Must be because as they used to say "we're off am age" & because of Vegas. Speaking of dead things...I hate how so many great old hotels are dead & gone. Drive careful & take breaks.
@famousgraveswithdiamonddave
@@julie.1081 We're friends! Just got back to Palmdale. I made all 6 cemeteries. Traffice was decent except when I got to La Bianca's grocery store it started getting heavy on 5 N. Should have enough for about 4 vids. I'll put the Manson victims out first. Still need to meet w the owner of the movie car used in the Manson movie.
