I did those same mistakes so many times in the p51 when you go in the "bad mood" and forget that it's a plane that needs to keep it's speed up...

It's great watching this, because the G-6 is usually regarded as the least capable of the Me-109 variants, and it seems that, when properly flown, it's a match for anything out there

Very well done. A professional and most valuable lecture on dogfighting tactics in the 109 G6 in Sturmovik BOX, superbly executed and comprehensively explained - a delight to watch and listen to. This excellent piece is highly appreciated! (^^)7

Love watching these, helps when I'm watching your live streams with your crew, how you come to the actions and strategies that you employ. So much thought and planning put into instant decisions, that make so much difference, very clever 👍😉

Another excellent video Sheriff... Exploit your aircraft's strengths and avoid its weaknesses, while trying to do the opposite to your opponent. Perhaps this is how German Aces in WWII, while flying G6's against Mustangs were still able to wrack up significant kills against them?
@SheriffsSimShack
@SheriffsSimShack 3 года назад
Aces, maybe yeah. but at that point the number of aces were shrinking on a daily basis. You only can do so much against so many well trained enemies. The War was lost and the Luftwaffe very thinned out. I dont know about the air kill count statistics of Bf 109 vs the Mustang, and this stat is probably impossible to obtain.
@magoid
@magoid 3 года назад
I would say this is how any ace got his kills. Doesn't matter if your fighter is better than the opponent, if you don't take advantage of its strengths.
@WHJeffB
@WHJeffB 3 года назад
@@SheriffsSimShack I agree, they didn't have much of chance for those very reasons... I've read that toward the end of the war Luftwaffe pilots were out numbered 10:1 or more. But it is surprising how many of the high scoring Aces did survive. I believe one of the higher scoring Aces had three P51 kills in one sortie, but I believe he was flying a G10 or a K4. But that's only one pilot.
@M3RUL3Z
@M3RUL3Z 3 года назад
@@WHJeffB Luftwaffe had a rather brutal system that was basically "Fly till you die". Allied pilots were regularly rotated off the front and top aces generally rotated home to both train new pilots and raise money for the war effort, while German pilots had no such luxuries. This led to a top heavy system where some aces could brilliantly push their aircraft to the edge, while the vast majority weren't worth the machines they were piloting. I wouldn't look at Luftwaffe aces with wonder personally. Many aces both on ground and in air tend to have inflated kill counts
@SheriffsSimShack
@SheriffsSimShack 3 года назад
@@M3RUL3Z it wasnt even a system. I dont think they thought much about it. They just wanted the results and were afraid to lose performance in case they withdrew the best pilots. A true mistake. The "inflated" killcounts of the germans aren't that much higher than in other air forces. Overclaiming was a thing everywhere.

Great tips! The way you look around to spot the enemy is so quick and fast. Do you use the track IR pro clip, or the hat clip? Can you comment on the difference between the two?
@SheriffsSimShack
@SheriffsSimShack 3 года назад
the track hat works just with reflective material on a clip which gets attached to a hat. The TIR camera emits some light and the reflectors send it back. So the camera is able to pick the reflectors up and the software can interpret the movement. The track clip pro gets attached to the head set and has three LED build in. The camera picks them up and the rest is the same. Advantage of the clip pro is that he lights are a much stronger light source and are easier to pick up for the camera. And of course you don't have to wear a hat. I tried the hat for like one day and ordered a clip. let me know if you have more questions.
@kevko5212
@kevko5212 3 года назад
@@SheriffsSimShack I have the Track IR 5 with the hat clip, but no pro clip. I am interested in possibly picking one up, but it is close to $75-$100 with shipping, and I have read some reports on it not being worth it, which is the reason I picked up the version without the pro clip in the first place. If you still have the hat clip, would you mind trying it a bit more and seeing if you feel any difference in performance, and if it is a big enough difference to warrant the extra cost? Much appreciated!
@SheriffsSimShack

@@kevko5212 there are clips from other manufactures which cost less. DelanClip for example.

I wish everyone could have VR glasses so looking at 6 would not be that easy. It is impossible to surprise when trackir owls head are scanning 360 degrees all the time :D
@SheriffsSimShack
@SheriffsSimShack 3 года назад
Head tracking is old. 30 years old or more. You wouldn't be able to play these games without it. You spend lots of money for immersion. And now to complain that it isnt as competetive is a bit ridiculous. I played now for a week in vr and i think i found good ways to check my six even wothout any software
@kerguule
@kerguule 3 года назад
@@SheriffsSimShack I dont care about competitiveness. I like history and remember that most planes shot down did not know what hit them. You can check six with vr but then you realize how important wingman is to look your back because it is much more tiring to look back all the time. Moreover, they also had seatbelts back then. But yeah it is expensive but hopefully more people can afford it in the future.

Historically, many pilots would not have hundreds of flight hours before they entered combat. Virtual pilots can have thousands of hours in the game, and know what to do, hence their heads seem to be on flexible mounts. Many axis pilots flew between 3-6 missions every day, and they sat in the cockpit, not in the bedroom. The vibrations, noise and g-loads gave them real fatigue, and they were taking real amphetamines on a daily basis. They also slept in worse conditions among constant air raids, so they were not as rested and attentive

You're just bad at identification or something... Turning it on while the server has it off would be cheating. You need to practice it; this isn't like War Thunder where even in sim battles you can be enemies to say Hurricanes in a P-51. If you know the aircraft types each side has, you'll be fine. Friendly vehicles are generally the friendly ones. Only fire when you can clearly identify a target.
