Thanks for sharing! Where do you put your carry-on baggage on a panorama train? (Sorry I see in your video you show areas to stow baggage at the end of the train). Thank you for taking the time to make this video!
Hi thanks for your kind comment. I had my carry on baggage at the opposite station as I was traveling on my own. But you can leave in under your seat as well.
@@ganapatihegde1024 Hi this depends on the time of booking, you can get it from 39 € but if you book closer to the departure date it may be as well over 100 €.
4:10, "Due to covid restrictions in Germany, the restaurant car will only open after crossing the border with Austria". Let's hope it remains open in Switzerland, otherwise it would mean opening just for the 9km or so that the train runs on Austrian territory ;-)
Great video but only two things that need to be fixed in the future are stop showing train tracks and move the camera down just a little bit so it’s on your face
I will be in Munich in June, and after I will travel from Munich to Switzerland, i dont like stops lol I prefer direct travel as I have a lugage. I'll stop by in Zurich to catch another train going to Interlaken. So not sure if i should get down at the ZUrich central station to do that? Or any stops I will be able to get a train going to Intrlken OST?
Hi nice places to visit ! Best place to change is Zürich Main Station for sure. You'll arrive inbound from Munich on the lower level tracks and will have an elevator to access the upper platforms easily. It is easy and comfortable no worries. What brings you to interlaken?
Thanks for the video. I was curious how to travel from Zurich to Munich or vice versa without taking a plane; so this video helps. You did not mention about any intermediate stations from Munich to Lindau or from Lindau to Zurich. Did the train travel through Lichtenstein on the way from Lindau to Zurich? Go Bavaria my friend! Ich liebe Bayern.
Thank you very much for your nice comment. It does Travel through Austria with an intermediate stop at Bregenz but it will not go through Liechtenstein. It will stop three times in Switzerland at the cities of St Margarethen St Gallen and Zürich Airport. Have safe travels
What an amazing video, congratulations! I was looking for just that. Can you tell me what the company's baggage policy is like? I will arrive at Zurich airport and take the train towards Munich, so I will have bags. Thank you very much for the attention and quality of the video.
Hello and thank you for your kind comment. You can take as many pieces of luggage as you want with you. There is enough space at the ends of the wagons. The train travels from Zurich Airport directly to Munich in just under 4 hours.Iin order to save travel time, a new train set has been used since the beginning of 2021 and it operates on a different route as well. If you want you can check is out here on my channel as well. The ideo is called BGV #38 - München Zürich SBB EUROCITY EXPRESS NEW IN 2021. Safe travels!
Great video! We are hoping to move to Munich in the next year or two, so all your videos are very helpful. Do you know if the panorama car is available on all EC trains from Munich to Zurich? I see several running daily on the weekends, for example.
Following the electrification between Lindau and Munich, connections are now made with the Pendolino ETR.610, now called Astoro, which connected Zurich with Milan. Lindau Central railway station is now called Lindau Insel and is no longer served by Zurich - Munich trains. They stop at Lindau-Reutin to avoid wasting time due to changing the direction of travel. The ETR.610 (also classified as RABe 503 Astoro) are a group of variable-lift electric trains, purchased by the discontinued Italian-Swiss company Cisalpino in 1997, and built by Alstom Ferroviaria, using the platform called Nuovo Pendolino.
EuroCity-Express. The train category was newly created with the timetable change on December 10, 2017, because the Frankfurt-Milan connection, operated with an ETR 610 of the Swiss Federal Railways, offers ICE-like travel times and comfort, according to Deutsche Bahn. Because the train would have been classified as an EC only in the second highest train category, the new EuroCity-Express category was created in line with the ICE, which is equivalent to the ICE in terms of fares. With the change of timetable on December 13, 2020, ECE trains operated by ETR 610 "Astoro" began service on the partially new electrified line between Munich and Zurich. In the medium term, the German Federal Minister of Transport, Andreas Scheuer, is aiming to integrate these connections into his concept of a "Trans-Europ-Express 2.0". The service between Munich and Zurich was launched with the timetable change in December 2020. In cooperation with SBB and ÖBB, six pairs of ECE trains are offered daily. The line's launch was made possible by the electrification of the Geltendorf-Lindau section of the Buchloe-Lindau railway. Previously, four EuroCity train pairs ran daily on the connection, three of them via Memmingen, as is the case now with the ECE, and one via Kempten. The latter route was eliminated with the changeover, as the line via Kempten has not been electrified. The section to Basel SBB is discontinued as well. While the former ECs went to the terminus station on the island of Lindau, the ECEs serve the long-distance through-station Lindau-Reutin solely.
Thank you very much. Honestly I have no idea why as they have not given us a reason for it. The new train set was identical too. So maybe some internal decision. For me the upgrade to the panorama car was well worth it as the surcharge was with only 20 € not a lot. Got a really good deal this time.
Hi I booked the ticket in advance on the website of the DB. www.bahn.de as they got the better deal but make sure to check prices as well on the website of the SBB www.sbb.ch. have a nice trip

Thank you very much for your support. I bought this ticket online at the SBB website as it was the best deal available. Please make sure to check the SBB and the DB website for deals as well because they vary a lot.
