My friends grandfather was in army and he did witness the race 10:17 where he was injured... and told us that its reality..!! The movie did justice to a great legend who ran 70 races internationally and won gold in 67.. first time in my life I saw people stand and clap at the end. Also Milkha ji's wife was olympic volleyball player.. i have reasons to believe that "mermaid" charracter is losely based on Mrs Milkha😅 Farhan also told in one of interviews that there was a parent's sports day at his kid's school during he was training for this movie and he went like a bullet.. every one was soo impressed 😂

The scene where he goes back and meets his sister is absolutely amazing. It's in my top 5 list of most emotional scenes in Bollywood. Props to Divya Dutta who played his sister for portraying the role so efficiently, you can see the bond they both share and her innocence and love for her brother is so cute to watch.

Milkha Singh’s wife, Nirmal Saini was the captain of the Indian volleyball team. Milkha Singh passed away a week after her death in 2021. Legends who lived a great life together 🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️

Farhan Akhtar and his band 'Farhan Live' were musical guest at our college festival and i kid you not he did 100 pushups in front of everyone on stage in the middle of performing songs from this movie and we were all shouting 1, 2, 3, 4... it was amazing..add it to the fact that most of us were slightly drunk we were fanboying out...he is a brilliant performer and singer though..our college had Jal The Band, Kailash Kher and Salim Suleman as musical guests when i was there but by far the best one was Farhan Akhtar...i remember he was singing Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and entire college instead of dancing just went around running from one end of the ground to other or running in circles..it was hilarious and we made him laugh when he saw us doing that

Steph i know you are a hockey player so I would recommend you to watch "Gold" by Akshay Kumar that movie is based on the Wizard of hockey Major Dhyandchand I think you both can understand that movie really well it was before India's independence I highly recommend that movie.
