Bz vikarna was the one who took the Pandavas side in assembly and asked not to disrespect draupadi. So vikarna has a soft corner for Pandavas and duryodhan being diplomatic and fearful, he did nt want vikarna to change side and join Pandavas army. So he praised vikarna.

In this series of verses, he is trying to boost his own morale by speaking about those who are supporting him and those who he wants to make sure support him fully (Drona and Vikarna fall in that category). I pointed to this in the 23rd minute when stating, "Are you trying to convince me or yourself?"
