The idea of spotting out 11 choicest Bollywood songs based on the Raaga Bhairavi dawned suddenly in our minds.
Bhiaravi, a raaga that musically depicts the early dawn, has some of the most mesmerizing notes and tunes. The raaga has been in use throughout decades, by singers and composers from various genres and generations. This a humble presentation from us, consisting of 11 different compositions, based on the one and only Raaga Bhairavi.

The song "Yeh zindagi usi hai" is based on Raga Bhimpalasi/Kaafi and some parts in Raga Kirwani. And "Ae dil hai mushkil" has the chalan of Raga Kirwani.

Not really. Bhimpalas does not allow the flexibility of starting with Sa - Pa and definitely does not have Komal Dha. Bhairavi allows a lot more flexibility than the confines of Bhimpalas

My knowledge from childhood is that Yeh zindagi first half is Bhimplas and second part is Keervaani, choice of happy and sad ragas.

Yes, both the songs are not based on bhairavi. Yeh zindagi usiki hai switches between bhimpalasi and keervani and ae dil hai mushkil is completely in C harmonic minor scale which is keervaani.
