Real reason is because of lower octane petrol available in India. Same capacity engines make way more power in USA and europe because they are tuned for better petrol.

@@adityajain2300 look it up. most of cars in USA can't run on normal petrol. They need atleast 93 or 95 octane because of performance tuning. Normal 87 or 91 octane will damage the engine in those cars.

@@nikhilpatil7218 Cars that use regular E10 petrol in the developed world are higher powered than their Indian counterparts. We are not talking about high-end cars here. Even cars like Corolla / Civic / Accord / Elantra that use Unleaded have bigger engines and more power in USA than in India. So unavailability of high octane fuel cannot be the reason why Indian cars are underpowered. Real reason is taxation, which is why Indian companies are trying to pump out as much power as they can with lower displacement engines by using turbo, dct, etc. They give as much power as possible within pricing constraint.

This doesn't explain how Asian countries, i.e. even Pakistan & Nepal tbh gets more powerful and diverse versions of the same cars sold in India respectively.

Engine capacity to bol diya, lekin kitna CC per cylinder to nahi. Agar 1.5 litre 3 cylinder engine hai to 500 cc ke cylinder, wahi 500cc cylinder agar 4 ho to 2.0 litre engine ho jayenge. Ford endeavour ke 3.2 diesel ek 5 cylinder engine hai, yaani ek cylinder 640cc ke hai, yahi Fortuner ke 3.0 litre 4 cylinder engine hai, yaani ek cylinder 750 cc ke hai. Phir bore x stroke nahi bole, kitne valves per cylinder nahi bole us report pe.
