In conjunction with Theemithi 2019, we have released a devotional video titled, 'Bhavani Vara' based on the devotional song by renowned artist Gurumandalam Veeramanidasan.
The song illustrates how the Goddess Mariamman proceeds in the form of the Shakti Karagam towards the fire pit and the spiritual significance Firewalking. The song is also relevant to the returning of the Silver Chariot procession of the Goddess, another crucial segment of the Theemithi Festival, whereby the Goddess visits devotees at the various temples and estates.
Theemithi (Firewalking) Festival has been celebrated since 1840 with much grandeur in Singapore and Goddess Mariamman and Goddess Draupadi are principal deities of the Festival.
