I'm 22 years old. When I was a kid, I used to watch it with my father. He would say, "main bhi ekdin aise chala jaunga par tu chinta mat karna, main tujhe humesha pyaar karta rahunga." I never took his words seriously or I rather I would say I didn't understand what he said then. Today he is no more. He left us last year. Everytime I watch the film, my heart aches for him. I miss him so much. But then I know, he's here with me.. always. ❤️❤️

😪 The flash back story shown in this film, just the same happened in my family. My lovable Dad and Mom waited for their elder son( yes, i dont even call him as my brother, anymore), but he never showered love n affection to those parents who always did everything for his welfare. After my marriage my husband n me took care of my dear Mom. Now she is no more. But all those years, she waited waited to see him n his wife n grandchildrens. But at the end, she too breathed her last moment. He neither turned up to do the last rites either for my dad n for my mom 😪😪. Appa, Amma I Miss u so much.

I was in tears and stopped watching after he vanished as he walked away, back when I saw it on TV 20+ years ago. Watched it again today after 20 years, and started crying again after the final farewell in the sky. I think the devs also realized it was too heartbreaking, since he came back in the final scene! As someone from the Middle East, I used to never understand the strict discipline of my family and envied the American lifestyle. But now, after being separated from my family(visa reasons), I pity my past self, as he never understood the love and care he was given with those harsh lessons, and that they did it for our own benefit.
