Please don't mess around with the words & understand the poetry before singing such famous compositions. BTW, the bhor bhayi composition is laden with choot taans - be careful with the swaras. Chalo Sakhi sauntan ke ghar jaiyhein; Maan ghate to ka ghat jaihein, piyu ke darshan paihein. Ae joban anjoori ko pani, samye gayo pachtaihein. Manarang ke prabhu dhyan dharat hain. Manaki tapat bujhayihein. This bandish as you noticed is by Manarang (Ustad Bhupat Khan) son of Ustad Niyamat Khan a.k.a Sadarang - the great musician/composer in the court of Muhammad Shah Rangile. Also, very important to hold your ears when you utter the name "sabarang" - Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan. Without his blessings no one can sing his bandishes.

Abhay stunned nikhita with that mind-blowing rendition of Bhor Bhayi. Shastriya Samgeetam is paakh prasthara in flow. the poverty of western singing is truly exposed in this track. abhay your voice is pure gold, one of the best male voices in recent times. please do record more raga based bandhish and contribute to our heritage. thank you for sharing this

What I can see from the comments section is that most of the people have admired the western version by Nikhita but there are a few who have appreciated the Abhay's part as well. I have seen someone saying 'bhai tum light song hi gao ye tumpe jachta nehi' some saying 'stressful ' . I want to ask one thing to them. Do any of you know this raag,gurjari todi? And secondly I can hardly believe that any of you can even attempt to sing this far. How am I qualified to say so? I am myself a student of classical music especially Dhrupad and I am learning it not through youtube guru but a real one. That apart I am saddened and at the same time astonished to see the quality of listeners here. No doubt nikita is good but the real soul of the song was given by Abhay , the rest was just the ornament. I myself know this raaga and I also know how hard it is to sing this composition. It was sung by Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali khan sahab. So in order to even listen to this composition one must have atleast a few handful years of rigorous classical training. People however ignorant they are ,simply criticize as if the comment section has given them this liberty to do so. I am not biased but see how wonderful his murkias were, his taankari was wonderful. Any classical musician will reflect on my views I am sure. So lets be clear all those who made such sarcastic comments-First even try singing it and if you fail and you have the brevity withdraw such callous views. And I repeat you are indeed callous and absolutely void in your thoughts..
