Im curious how does it hold up after 2 years? Does it have any new features? What would you recommend for a beginner D7 or D8 how do they stack up? Keep up the good work! Also what happens after your subscription expires, does the tool stop working, does it lose feature or just stops getting new ones?
Bought this to look at a 2021 Mazda 3. Auto vin scan is not working. Manual enter and the transmission model not even listed (select 2wd Other. The transmission should be EV6A-EL ). Now I learn more that since 2019 Mazda 3 has a new diagnosis system mdars for their newer cars. The Keys function are not support. Pretty much limited for if you want this tool to work with a newer Mazda 3.
In the video I stated please email all vendors the make and model before you buy. That way you know what is covered. I would return it if possible. Sorry to hear about your experience.
If I have a lift and bigger tires can it calibrate for the bigger tires ? If not like how hard would that be to have it done to a 2004 4Runner ? Thanks for your information I seen another fellow that gave this tool a grate review so I purchased one ! I have used those old orange hand held devices they just do very little but this xtool I think is gonna be the ticket for us home based mechanics ! I was just saying to a friend the other day. Look man I got a iPad this thing should just have a cable we’re you could just hook it up ! Then it could just communicate with the obd figure out the problem and tell you ! We have so much technology at are hands every day if we only had the keys to make them all work together we would be light years ahead ! Then you showed this had a tablet built in and I was like what was I just saying . At around 9:00 in this video you show the On board monitor test option.then you reset the monitors to show the EVAP monitor system and Catalyst monitor system "Not ready""...My question is does this scan tool allow you to at least command the ECU to start these monitoring tests???
There are few manufacturers that allow an activation for the monitors to run like Porsche. I don't have a complete of such manufacturers but Porsche does..
Are all the cars covered for 3 years free updates, after that what is the cost for updates? Do you get all the updates again or just on the cars you are wanting to look at.
last I hear was a little over $200 per year. The good news is that you can still use the scan tool after the years is up but you not have the lastest updates.
I just bought this scanner. Worked fine on my Chrysler and Jeep, but when I plugged it in to my father's perfectly fine 2011 Cruze, it started wigging out. I got "Service Power Steering", "Service StabilTrak", and "Service Parking Assist" messages on the instrument cluster, an engine light, and the scanner reported multiple system failures and over a dozen DTCs. I was able to clear them, but everytime I plug this in and turn the car on, the same thing keeps happening. It has the latest updates. It also reported the wrong mileage.
Sorry to hear about your experience with the Cruze, I would try a different scan tool to see if the same is occurring. Are the miles real on the Cruze?
@@RANDOMFIX well the only other scanner I have is a $40 Autel and that works fine but is not nearly as sophisticated. The miles are real, my parents are the original owners and barely drive the thing.
@@RANDOMFIX that appears to be it, as 38,824 converts to the amount in km displayed on the scan tool. The first time I did a diagnosis report the mileage was displayed as over 250,000 though. That doesn't concern me as much as all the systems failing as soon as I plug it in.
How good is this on Toyota G and H transponder keys in all keys lost situation? Two days ago I tried to do all keys lost on a 2014 Highlander with my 6 years old trusted Xtool X100 pro key programmer and it failed saying hardware is old to do the job. Tried launch x-diag pro3 without success also
On your upcoming D8 video, could you compare the battery life on both the D8 and D7? The D8 is more expensive than the D7 but I wonder if the battery life on both scan tools are the same.
The d8 has a 10k mAh battery which is supposed to offer a 10 hour run time. None the less when the unit is plugged in it will charge from the od2 port.
This will work for European and Asian vehicles. I highly recommend email the vendor a list of all of you vehicles and ask for a feature support list of each vehicle. I used it in a Mercedes and Toyota

I have the D7 and I have been using it on my 2003 Toyota Prius but very difficult to get into the system, I downloaded an update and now it can't support the Car? Confused to say the least.
Will this tool support a diesel dodge truck, many of the functions are the same as a gas car but i would hate to spend that amount of coin only to find out the it will not talk to a diesel computer.
Yes it will, the best thing to do before you guys is email the vendor your make, model, and Vin and ask for a list of supported features. Check the video description for the support email

its that cheap because it wont read cars ,wont show the faults even if you deliberately disconnect something .and cant even pick up basic abs faults .dont chuck your money away on this thing
Thinkdiag and Humzor both are BI-DIRECTIONAL both do the same as xtool but they are wireless they use your cellphone so your not carrying around a big case and fooling around with a bunch of cords and Humzor has life time FREE UPDATES both are under $200
I have no experience with humzor but on the thinkdiag charge $49 per year per vehicle make so if your like myself where you offer different makes so I would end up paying $150 per year if I had 3 cars. Xtool includes that.
I'm going to save my 09 RAM Grand Caravan. I lost all keys. It's been parked for years. Your video and others gave me confidence in this product. Not short of great reviews. I even found a video on the latest update, making it 8 out of 10, similar to the d8. Without bt capability, though, I don't care bout that. Me and bt don't get along 🙃 🥴🤦🏾😂🤣😂🏌♂️🎆
