The Production made the whole Destiel Topic so hush hush and Taboo for so many years now Jensen and Jared can't speak about it without turning into a ball of nerves. So silly.

Tumblr DOES have trends! And we were trending supernatural stuff in there every other day for past year! (i mean that is only a slight exaggeration because one acc counted how many days since 5th we trended and came to a conclusion that something supernatural fandom has been sending supernatural to trending page for approximately 130 days. For one third of a year we were absolutely unbearable. Which is the more impressive given that before 5th the fandom was basically dormant in there)

Forever wish for more, forever happy we got the confession, forever pissed we never saw them back face to face. The fact that the company is still trying to stop them from talking about what IS canon (Misha's panel from today made it clear as he said all he could, but was still less than the ones that weren't CW sponsored.) just makes us all more determined to make more things, and who knows, maybe Misha's idea of some future episode or SOMETHING of them (plus Jack and Sam) being reunited will happen one day.

Yeah, aside from my single binge the night the show ended, Supernatural will probably just get lost in the void of shows never to rewatch for me. I can only watch certain reactors now and then, because Dean’s death just looks like glorifying suicidal ideation to me. It all just hurts way too much. I hope other people who can separate themselves from Dean (unlike me) enjoy themselves. Also agree, people at conventions should just try and avoid the ending as much as possible, even though that is going to be really hard with every single wrong/bad ending for every single character.

I watched the entire 16 episode series and your analysis is BRILLIANT. My concerns are how are they going to address this obvious homophobia/plot hole in the reboot? Rest assured there WILL be a reboot. when "Walker" and "The Boys" are done. I give it about 8-10 years. The precedent for this is "Dexter" a long running and interesting show that had a HORRIBLE finale is being rebooted for a series of episodes on Showtime. In addition a lot of shows are being rebooted/reimagined" "Highway to Heaven", "Gossip Girl", "Walker" itself is a reboot! Lest anyone think this doesn't apply to the sci-fi genre, there have been whispers of BTVS being rebooted as well. Don't even get me started about the many iterations of Star Trek that have appeared on the big AND small screen. I see no end in sight for the reboots since Hollywood seems to reject original ideas Jensen has said he is okay with a limited streaming series somewhere down the road, not to mention the prequel he and his wife are shopping around. Misha has expressed an interest in being involved with a SPN world in the future. The only way I can see for the writers to address the obvious homophobic element in the future is to do what SPN does best... retcon. Another option is to bring back the Castiel character as female, since in the SPN universe, angels have no gender. Hopefully in the next 8-10 years we as a society will be less homophobic and the issue of Castiel declaring his love for Dean AND Dean will be allowed to respond. I welcome thoughts from admin and others...

I totally agree with what you said about conventions. Just leave it be, talk about other things. Before I watch any con videos I check out Twitter to see what sh*t I should avoid. Although in my opinion at least Jensen is careful about what he says. Jared and also sometimes Misha not so much 🤔 I also agree that the confession was ok as it was played out, I just had needed some closure, Dean talking about it with Sam, or a prayer or anything... 😢 But that will not change, therefore people - please move on and write fan fics 💚

Tumblr ABSOLUTELY has trends. Destiel is why its still being used and my app has crashed so many times now.

I just hope they stop asking question in con that they already got/thought of the answer and just wanted to be validated. Because sometimes the actors/actress are human too, and the answer will depend on their mood / feelings in the day. Because at this point the conclusion that i got is that Misha is supported Destiel, Jensen couldn't/doesn't want talk about Destiel because he still believe Dean is straight (i don't think he is a big destiel fans too) unless it's just a joke, and Jared just doesn't care (i mean why would he? it is not about his character and lots of his fans hate destiel). Nothing will change.

1. I'm happy with the episode as well, while I wish that Dean had reciprocated I know it's not characteristic of Dean to admit that stuff right off the bat. This episode just isn't a big deal to me. I don't agree with the "CW silenced Dean" thing. I think everything was done well, if that was the most they could do- so what? We're lucky to even get a confirmation from Cas' side. 2. I do feel dosapointment at how it was treated after though. I agree, I would've loved to just see Dean mourn, he didn't have to go so far as admit love for Cas, but a little more devastation( there are people who are like " well Dean got all his mourning out after Cas was taken then and there- but any person who's ever dealt with the loss of a loved one knows that's not how mourning works at all). Seeing him free, seeing him in heaven, or maybe on earth somehow. Dean seeing him. Any of that would have been preferable to what we got and it's not like it would have conflicted with a lot of what they'd already established. I don't think that would be able to undo the magnitude of Cas' sacrifice. 3. I also agree with you that it should be kept at vague mentions at cons because hearing about it and knowing that no one can say what they really want about it, it just makes it kind of pointless. I think that the confession was purely meant to be one sided and that while it's clearly open for interpretation we shouldn't expect Misha or Jensen to confirm the other side when it's just not meant that way. The CW will never let them say more than they have on it and that's just how it is and how it will stay. The two-sided love story will only ever exist in fanfiction and some of the more extreme fanatics really just need to accept that. There are movements trying to shit on the CW for trying to push Castiel back into the closet, but no matter how many crazy fans rally up to speak up it's not going to change anything. This is their show, and they will never stop defending it the way it was written. The CW have probably lost a lot of supporters because of this, but they are too proud to change anything for the benefit of obsessed fans. 4. For me just Misha being able to say what he is able to and continuing to validate the queer community by confirming Cas's feelings is enough for me. I don't need the CW to suddenly change their minds to be satisfied. Now, I would probably be extremely happy if they did stop their bullshit but I'm able to draw satisfaction elsewhere so it's stopped being a major bother for me.

Why was Dean more upset about losing Cas in Season 12-13 than when he dies in the finale?

Ohoho, I hope the question keeps coming up. Aside frome everything else, the creators created a major plot thread with no intention of resolution, so of course people are going to ask. I came to Supernatural after the series ended, and after seeing explicit representation in so many other series in the last few years, watching Spn felt like crawling back into the closet. Networks should learn that this isn't something you can get away with anymore.

I'm tired of the prank questions at conventions. I wish they could have given Cas his own series after season 5. Castiel could have been the bisexual icon before the Tom Ellis Lucifer.

I don't understand why fans need destiel to be canon to feel validated? I must be old but I remember when shipping was fun because fuck canon and the fandom was going to strive through it own material. I don't like fans pushing shipping questions on the actors. Misha is obviously living for it but I still don't think that is what cons are for. And I think he does more damage than good because sometimes it crosses the border between fun headcanons and vague SA on Jensen's part I wish he'd only speak for himself and Cas because bringing Jensen or Dean into is iffy. He doesn't have a right to give insight into Dean's thoughts or actions. If Jensen or Dean was a girl then I know y'all would've been like leave her character alone lol so yh I wish he'd just stop with that . ships whether canon or not is always open for interpretation. For me I can see Cas as pan. I liked his dynamics and chemistry with Meg and Crowley as well.

Imma just say this, Dean is staright he has been and no matter how idioticly "progressive" ppl wanna get and write as many fan fiction as possible he's staright, Cas yea might as well be gay kinda obvious. But trying to go after one the shows leading core characteristics of Dean bc they quer batted you into wanting it when Cas comes out is just stupid . Oh Bob since I'm assuming you are not on THEE HELLSITE [affectionately] you are not aware then. Destiel, Dean, Castiel, Jensen & Misha literally trend on Tumblr almost every week sometimes multiple times in a week. This happens more frequent then Twitter that's for sure. There is actually blogs set up on Tumblr that let's the fandom know if SPN trended. Although as I mentioned previously its always 1 out of the 5 tags mentioned above or a combination of all those included. This found family is amazing!

Another great video, Mr. Wess. I had never considered that J2 and company could be still be prohibited by the CW about what they can and cannot discuss related to certain subject matter. I never knew that. I thought that once the show was over if was a free for all, but I guess not. If that's the case, asking about Destiel at conventions does seem to be a waste of time. Then again, conventions are a waste of money at the end of the day IMHO. I appreciate your perspective on things. I suppose we should be grateful we got what we got, but Cas's absence in 5x19 or 5x20 still rankles. The thought that it could have been influenced by the thought of money potentially being lost due to the current political climate (lack of DVD sales or streaming or whatnot) is infuriating. I get enough narrow mindedness living in the ruby red state that I do (which is not Texas.) When you read about school districts already attempting to purge LGBTQ materials from school libraries due to outside pressures, that's terrifying. Flat out sad is what it is. t would have been so simple; all it would have taken was for Dean, before taking Baby for a ride, to ask Bobby the last time he'd seen or spoken to Cas. Once he'd heard that Cas had helped Jack with heaven, it made zero sense that he wouldn't be curious at least. "If you see him, Bobby, can you tell him I'd like to speak to him?" So simple. One line, delivered in that Dean-like way. Gives the gay haters plausible deniability. They can pretend Dean and Cas would discuss the latest baseball scores, but the rest of us would know. That would have been so nice-just that one thing, and also showing Sam signing to the blurred woman on the porch during his final montage. It would show that Sam reconnected with Eileen after Dean's death. Why wouldn't he want to do that? Just one line, and Sam making one or two signs. The finale would have gained so much. Why this desire for two middle aged men like Sam and Dean to have no meaningful relationship with any contemporaries except each other? After 15 years, wouldn't Sam and Dean want more? They're not eternal children stuck with only one another. Baffling.

It was partly because of Tumblr that I got into Supernatural in the first place. I joined to share/view Dragon Age fan art/fan fics (another fandom I'm in), and between Tumblr and AO3, I was sucked down the Supernatural fandom rabbit hole, which led me to finally start watching the show in 2016. Sadly, because I had a NSFW Tumblr account, I was part of "the purge." So, I'm no longer on that site (and I refuse to go back).

I'm already passed my shit-time in fandom, almost ). But I think its honestly to say i'm in peace wth all Destiel thing . There still are "moments of true happiness", but I truly have faith in this: Supernatural declare - there are billions of worlds , wth dozens of diff versons of same ppl. God convinsed that Cas's rebelling was out of his control. So there , far-far away, might exist the world , when our boys honorably, truly, finally happy). Like they supposed to be) *Let's not forget about Heaven reunion )* **Yes, yes, I know, maybe someone will notice from the comments - I doubt it - that I am swayed from side to side regarding my own adequacy on this issue. Shit happens))) What I'm trying to say is that I rather learn from my fav characters stories. This is my second attempt at providing my 2 cents worth on the whole Dean/Cas issue. I also agree that bringing it up at Con is a waste of energy as they feelings of at least Cas has been made canon due to his confession. What rankles, as far as the fans are concerned is Dean's lack of response and further a less than meaningful aside to Sam about him. 'Yes I miss him too!' I mean one can take that several ways. Dean can be emotional and teary eyed, but he can also be closed up. He knows too that with Jack as the new God Cas could possibly be brought back - nothing and no one ever ends. Or one could argue that Dean's reluctance to be brought back -15x20 - would be his way of getting back to Cas eventually. Apart from the sometime idiocy of labelling those who may or may not agree with same sex relationships or those who don't see Dean in this way as homophobic is an insult oft-times too easily tossed around. When homophobia can be a real problem for those of the Qs community, such labels don't help and it makes people overcompensate which is worse. The writers didn't seem to know how to play this (obviously they did) but the misstep they made was not committing to it or to play it down as a one-sided play. I don't know. I like your analysis of the show and the characters and I've seen other reactors who I admire too, and their breakdowns give added dimension that possibly I had missed on first viewing. It will be interesting to see this next Con what questions come up....being the anniversary of the 'confession' and Misha busy as ever on twitter, will tell.

I love Dean, Cas and Sam. I love this show and I miss it.
