When Star Wars: Return of the Jedi debuted, fans got their first glimpse of Bib Fortuna in the shadowed entryway of the palace of Jabba the Hutt but it was the classic, behind-the-scenes documentaries that showcased the work of Phil Tippett’s creature shop during the production of that 1983 film that were a big part of what led me to a life in the world of FX and movie monsters.
We’ve been so fortunate to work with Phil on many sold-out editions in the past and we’re thrilled that he created 83 completely unique drawings for this Bib Fortuna replica so that every collector that brings one of this edition into their homes has something absolutely original and extraordinary.
We’re all so proud of this special Legacy Edition, and I can’t wait to see it in the collections of discerning prop and statue fans and Star Wars collectors!

During the production of films, the creature effects team will often dream up new and fantastic aliens and beasts by creating small scaled sculptures, called “maquettes,” to showcase their ideas. From this menagerie of maquettes, the film’s director and producer choose which characters will be brought to life for the film as costumes or puppets and what roles they will play in the story.
Sculpted by creature shop head, Phil Tippett, this incredible design was chosen to become Bib Fortuna, Jabba the Hutt’s major domo.
