Guru Jiangam Kamei was a noted musician and singer from Manipur, India.
He was conferred the "Guru Shiksha Parampara Award" by NEZCC under Ministry of Art and Culture, Government of India for his contribution to the field of music in 2012. He was also an approved artiste of All India Radio (AIR), Imphal and had served as president of Zeliangrong Artists Forum, Manipur.
He was born on 2nd february1963 and died in 2016
This is one of his debut gospel song recorded in the prime of his life in 1980s.
Though he is gone, many of his song continue to inspire and reminisce folks of 80s and 90s with a vivid memories.
The language of this song is in Manipuri , spoken by Meetei people living in Manipur state, northeast India.
He began his career by composing and producing several gospel audio cassette in several volumes like Calvary, ..... However, after some inconsistencies in his marital life, he dropped gospel songs and switched to country music and rock by producing numerous audio albums like Symphony, Integrity, Love Rock.... etc. by forming a carnival band with Paul Gangmei, a renowned drummer and vocalist and others.
However, he didn't cease giving music for every genre of music despite his renunciation of composition and singing gospel in concerts, at the most, till the end of his life.
He gave music for over 3000 songs cutting across the communal lines.
