This is just a quick look at the system I've settled on (for now) for measuring, marking, and cutting leather for rebinding Bibles. I initially found this to be a tricky part of rebinding, but have had good and efficient success with these methods. Let me know if this is helpful to you, or if you have improvements to suggest!

Would it be possible for you to add lined paper to my Schuyler Quintel but keep the original leather? And how much would it cost?

HI Drew, thanks for that video! How do you skive your leather cover? What tools or technique do you use? Thanks a lot for the inspiration! I also started rebinding at the beginning of 2023 but I am making much slower progress (I'm currently on rebinds no. 7 & 8).

What determines when you use an Oxford hollow or not, or do you use on every re-bind? Thanks!

At about the 2:42 mark, when you are talking about the yapp and foldover, you really ought to mention the foldover *cannot* be greater than the yapp. (Don't ask me how I learned this.)

I'm new to rebinding. I am also confused. Doesn't the fold over create the yapp? I must be doing something wrong

Hi Drew, That extra 3/16 you added to the long side for the liner, is that 3/16 a standard measurement of yours, or does it fluctuate per rebind? Thanks for the video, and help!

Hi there! I keep it pretty standard. In theory, it would depend on the thickness of your liner, but I find that to be a hard amount to estimate precisely. So I just stick with 3/16. And you're welcome!

Something is confusing me. If the liner is what makes the long measurement need the extra 3/16", why is it added to the liner total and not to the cover total only?

Because when you cut the center line of the liner and place the block in, it doesn't wrap around the block like the cover does. I actually add a little more than that to the cover length because I add an oxford hollow to the spine.
