There were a lot of things that stood out to me in this chapter. 1. When Joshua pleaded with God, it reminded me of us when we tell Him, "I did what you asked why did you allow ______ to happen?" 2. When v 4 said their hearts were melted in fear and it was like a "puddle of water." I don't know why but the puddle of water part really stood out 3. While, Achan did covet, I also saw it as putting trust in material possessions instead of God. My commentary had a different thing about Achan's family. It said they were also killed because they were seen as coconspirators hiding his guilt, goods, etc. But I really like enduring word so they are probably more accurate. Thank you so much for this study! 💖

I love point #2. I think I'll look deeper into that scripture for my Bible study today. I am hoping Achan's children didn't die as well, honestly when I read that it was difficult to grasp. Thanks for watching!

This is a good study on disobedience and the repercussions it can cause. I read the Enduring Word and I disagree with its explanation of Verse 25. So I reread the Verse and checked another Commentary I have and it said him (Achan) was stoned and his family, and all that he possessed as he was the head of his household. The Bible does not indicate this but his family did not talk him out of this action. It’s a brutal way to die. A side note: Valley of Achor which means “trouble” another name given to Achan is “Achar” i.e. “the troubler”. I love 💕 your studies because they make me think and do some hunting.
