Thanks so much for sharing! I've found I am thankful to own many Bibles and Bible Study references. I do not think it is a bad thing. I feel anytime we spend in the word of God the better. God knows what is in our hearts.

You may enjoy the old 50s movie The Ten Commandments focused on Moses and the Exodus (great acting). I also recommend for you and others the Cultural Backgrounds Study Bible, The Archaeological Study Bible, The Holy Land Illustrated Study Bible, The NLT Illustrated Study Bible and a nice Bible Atlas.

Same! I get distracted if i’m using my phone. Also I love highlighting and marking up my bibles and commentaries... I think digital has its pros but i’m a book lover!

I love reading physical books too but I don’t have a lot of space so when I can I read on my Kindle. I agree phones and tablets are distracting but a Kindle is only for reading. No distractions. I don’t recommend the Kindle versions of The Bible or Dictionary or Atlases of any sort. Kindles make it too difficult 😞 to do word or phrase searches. For Bibles it’s difficult to navigate around the Bible or jump around books.

I am just getting serious on Bible Studying and Bible Resources is my new addiction. I got Catholic Bible Dictionary by Scot Hans, Ungers Bible Dictionary, and The Oxford Atlas by Adrian Curtis. Last month I bought The Didache by Ignatius Press and The Catechism of the Catholic Church by Asention Press both on Kindle. I can’t buy too many physical books 📕 because of lack of space.I have a Kindle (not the app) and enjoy reading on it and it’s less distracting than reading on your phone or tablet. Plus the screen looks like a page.

I agree! The physical kindle is less distracting! I love having my faith books in physical form though, because I like to mark them or add sticky notes and what not.

Thank you for sharing that it's okay to mark up our Bibles. I'm like you were at first. I worried about marking out a line rather than underlining it or vise versa. Your video is great. Thank you for taking the time to help us expand on our resources. You're kind.

The Treasury of David by Charles Spurgeon is great for the Psalms. It includes various commentary from others as well.

Great video! 🌺 I laughed when you spoke about writing in your Bible - and you told us not to be scared if you accidentally draw a line through the text instead of under it. 🤓 I have to laugh because I write and make Notations in all of my Bibles, and when I accidentally drew a line through the text, I was horrified 😱. Then I got a grip on myself (after I figured out I could not use Write-Out) and continued on.🤗 You mentioned great Resources to help with your studies. I have a Bible Collection including Resources, and one pair I recommend is the Tony Evans Study Bible, and the Tony Evans Commentary. It is wonderful and provides qr codes so that you can dive deeper by watching videos and Sermons relating to the scriptures as you study. Thanks for this Teaching - I subscribed. 🌄

Same! I use to use a ruler at first and then realized it doesn't have to be perfect!! I'll have to look up that commentary! Having qr codes to more resources is an awesome idea!

I enjoyed Sing a New Song by Lydia Brownback for the Psalms. I have another Meditations on the psalms but ordered it from seedbed and their shipping and prices are a little high but I like their materials. I've also started doing some studies from The Daily Grace Co. I haven't used the Strongs I bought LOL! I get so easily sidetracked and jump around with what I'm studying. btw, you just mentioned anger - I'm about to finish the Daily Grace co study on emotions and the anger day was helpful LOL!

Church History in Plain Language, Fifth Edition by Bruce Shelley and The Lost History of Christianity: The Thousand-Year Golden Age of the Church in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia--and How It Died These two books I recommend for the history of church. 😊

justo gonzalez has a church history or history of christianity in 2 volumes. I started the first but I get kinda bored with history.. sigh. I also picked up another that has a dvd and I'd probably do better watching the dvd!

Hi Sara, I use for everyday reading a CSB Study Bible. I felt like there were not enough notes at the bottom so I recently purchased a CSB Connections Study Bible and a HCSB Women Study Bible. Each one has different study notes. I found at a garage sale for a dollar a Life Application Bible. It's an older version but it has been helpful. As far as commentaries I use the Blue Letter Bible app or I google the text. Also for the Concordance I use an app. Are you using the questions that Faith has as an add on to the reading plan? Tfs

Hi! I have heard good things about the blue letter bible app! I don't normally use my phone because I get distracted easily!! I have the add-on questions from Faith, but I honestly haven't used them yet. I have only been reading through the plan and finishing my studies on Ephesians. I plan to take time eventually to journal out the questions!

I watch a lady on RU-vid, her channel is How to Faith a life & she is a pastors wife. She gives great resources & I love her channel. I am thinking about growing my collection even though I watch more videos & listen to audible for my books. Lol

Sadly some say to stay away from your phone & off RU-vid but I have found that I have learned so much about God & things I would have never known before. Hi, I enjoyed the video… here something you might like.. I read the kjv and I bought an ( Noah Webster 1828 American Dictionary of the English Language) I found that this helped with some of the meaning to certain words from the kj… I haven’t tried it on any other translations as of now but it might help there as well… there is an app for this dictionary also.. .. That book takes about the history of the church. I know you had mentioned wanting something like that in your video. Also if you have an audible subscription john Walton’s “ the lost world of genesis one “ has been a huge help as someone that is very logical. It shows genesis as what it is. Ancient near easy writing and should be interpreted as such. Its not a scientific account of creation but a narrative writing. It is free on audible with subscription . I would recommend that book. And a secret if you skip to the last chapter before the questions it basically sums up the book. And the questions and responses are also very good yo listen to.
