I picked up the set of Gods and Kings series recently for an amazing price on eBay. I’m so excited to read this series. Hopefully will read book one this month for Katie’s readathon.
I need to re-read the Mark of the Lion series. It's been so long, I've forgotten most of it. The Iscariot one looks interesting. I have read the one about Rahab - it was really good! I've read another one, about Job, that I really loved. I don't think you mentioned it - Love Amid the Ashes by Mesu Andrews. So good!
I am reading book 3 of the Out of Egypt series right now. I have loved it. This was my first biblical fiction. I’m going to read a series by Lynn Austin next that I heard was really good.
I've read all of your recs 😂. I love biblical fiction, have you read Crimson Cord by Jill Eileen Smith? That is my favorite of hers so far. Mesu Andrews is incredible with her research and storytelling.
Yesss there is content in The Bible so thus theres content in biblical fiction. You mentioned Judges...im reading it for the first time now and i wasnt quite prepared 😂😂
Francine rivers!!!!! Karen kingsbury!!!!!❤❤❤❤ I just got the lady's mine by Francine rivers today in the mail. Still have to read redeeming love. I've got some conniving cossette and Tessa afshar books, just haven't gotten to them yet😂. I've got the mark of the lion series, will get to it. I've also got God's and kings, that series. Love Lynn austin as well. The crimson cord, I love any telling of rahabs story.
I've been trying to hold myself back from getting kindle unlimited (Autumn By The Sea is on there which is where the urge started 😅) because I was trying to focus on my physical tbr, but a lot of the books you showed here are on kindle unlimited too so maybe my reading plans will be changing...
Awesome!!💖 💖 💖 Hey I know its kinda hard to decide on KU -- I have it for a couple months but I keep saying will I get my money's worth? Its best to do it when you KNOW you will use it in that month or two :)
@BookLoverAmanda completely agree! I have a full month free of responsibilities rn but it's having to assess if I actually will read as much as I think I will 😂
I really enjoyed the Well❤ my fav biblical fiction books of all time are Pearl in the Sand by Tessa Afshar and In the Field of Grace they are both so good!😊
I had the Daighters vs the Sons book by Francine. Personally i didn't like it because i thought she took too much liberty with changing things that she could have been accurate about because it's in the Bible. But having read the whole OT in chronological order, i would love reading about all the men. I think every person in the Bible is important.
Love this! I've read Counted with the Stars and loved it!! 5 stars! Every sentence was well written, loved Egypt setting, the music and faith...amazing! I enjoyed The Weeping Chamber by Sigmund Brouwer. 4 stars! Loved everything with Jesus and His disciples. I actually dnf'd In a Field of Grace and Sons of Encouragement. Didn't agree with the characterization. Felt very modern. But that's just me! I hope you enjoy all of them! This video inspired me to do my own Biblical fiction shelf spotlight!❤
Oh I did read Jonathan's story in Sons of Encouragement. Didn't love the first half, again Saul's characterization was wrong. He was arrogant right from the beginning. According to the Bible, he was NOT! "When you were little in your own eyes." He was hiding when they were gonna annoint him as king. BUT I did enjoy the last three chapters!
Thanks for all the book recommendations! I'm reading Tosca Lee's Iscariot right now, it's really written well and brings Biblical times to life, which in my opinion has it's down side since things that happened then are very disturbing to me. I sat it down yesterday just for a breather, to pick up Can't Help Falling by Courtney Walsh that you had recommended. I ordered it the day I saw your recommendation, received it 2 days ago, decided I would take it on a road trip yesterday, couldn't put it down, finished it last night! Girl, l loved it! Enjoyed that sweet romcom so much! 5 stars! Love your channel and your enthusiasm! 📚❤
I love Lynn Austin! Gods and Kings is riveting and brings the story of Hezekiah to life! I don’t read a lot of Biblical fiction, but I have Pearl in the Sand by Tessa Afshar on my list and I’m breaking Lineage of Grace into sections.
Thank you for this Recs list! I really want to read more christian fiction. Loved Redeeming Love and Lineage of Grace by Francine Rivers and it made me want more haha
I read In the Field of Grace recently. Usually I don't enjoy the ones that have real Biblical characters because too many liberties can be taken too easily and I don't like when they stray from the truth. However, I really liked In the Field of Grace.
I really want to read Land of Silence. I love that Bible story. I also want to read the Mark of the Lion books but I’m nervous about them being too much.
Yes!! Hey girl, it may be too much on the Mark of the Lion books - I understand. The intro is specifically hard. But gosh, I loved the story overall and the message. Everyone will land differently with it and thats ok!! 💖 💖
A lot of the books that you mentioned in this video sound interesting but Iscariot interests me the most. I’ve heard so many great reviews of this book.
Good morning, Miss Amanda. Your upbeat sparkling personality is just what I needed to start my day. Watching you is better than a cup of coffee, and that includes pumpkin spice lattes. 😊 Have a great day!!!
Ohhhh I need to read Voice in the Wind too. I read a Lineage of Grace by Francine Rivers and loved it. Thanks for the recommendations - I so need more biblical fiction in my life.
Oh...so many books I need to read! I think my TBR has now hit in the 200's...goodness gracious. Thanks for the great list!!! I really enjoyed Counted with the Stars. Christian fiction is still pretty new for me.
I really love your channel…please do not take this wrong!!!! You, talk so fast and it’s hard for me to keep up. I find myself watching 2 times to keep up. You’re very sweet and love your content!!
If you read it, what is your opinion on the book Young Messiah? I liked it until the author said that Jesus had older brothers and sisters. How could he be born of a virgin, but have older brothers and sisters?
"Gods and Kings" is outstanding. The entire series is outstanding, It really helped make Kings 1 & 2 come alive for me. Could not put it down. And, FYI, you are not the last to read "Voice in the Wind". I have the book and have not yet read it. Too many books, not enough time.
Hey there! Thanks for asking. I’m currently not accepting titles for review as I’m so tied up with other commitments with publishers and taking a step back on the number of books I agree to review. What’s the book and I may check it out when I have time in the future - but not accepting review requests at this time. So sorry! Just so many current commitments I have right now.
Have you read Lynn Austin's Gods and Kings yet? it was interesting, but there are some deus ex machina in it and some eye roll moments, but over all well done. It's the only Lynn Austin book I've read. I'd like to read more of her Biblical/historical fiction. In your recent vlog video I mentioned Daughter of Rome. Have you read that one yet?
