YES! When I caught Groudon, I named him Behemoth, and Kyogre Leviathan. I just found out about Ziz. Indeed those pokemon are based on these three biblical creatures.
I've heard of it through other cultures but never came across it in the bible. I assumed people just made that one up to have a 3rd creature be of neutral authority.
@@_Just_Another_Guy I think that's what the Honnen Trio were inspired by. The biblical beasts of the 3 domains that humanity was meant to subdue and have dominion of.
It is, it fucking is God and Zeus is the same type of bullshit as Santa As well as Monsters and all other creatures I dont belive in Farytales God Mythology Astrology Love Ect ect Its all just fucking stupid. After death there is either Freedom or simply Nothing.
as a jew that read about all of these in depth in the tanach, and in a very good book about biblical creatures... as much as i too wish there was a huge sea dragon in the ocean and a eagle that can block the sun and mammoth roaring to make all animals more calm... its much more likely in my opinion that they are symbolic ways that the prophets chose as a way to teach certain lessons etc. you can belive they are real if you like though. there isnt any harm in it. im just saying that the tanach in its entirety is realy just a bunch of stories that symbolise and teach much deeper truths. some are absolutely accurate and happened. others are often partially or entirely symbolic though..
With he modernized view that we have on aircraft and submersibles, it can be theorized that Leviathan may have been a craft of some sort, like a mothership, that emits flames and smoke with a hard skin and heart as hard as stone which could be anything but in biblical times had no verbal comparison to things we understand as a command console or rocket propulsion. This can be seen and applied to every historical text that mentions fire breathing snakes, dragons and other mythical beasts. There is still the possibility of it being organic or having existed in some capacity but it may still too be a spaceship for all intents and purposes.
It was probably because it wasn't in the bible and is a fan made creature. I never came across it in any English version or even in hebrew, and im aware of Psalms 50:11.
I'm reading my Bible and came across the Leviathan in Psalms 104. I wanted to see a visual interpretation and came across this channel. I didn't realize they were seen as mythological creatures. My favorite is the Behemoth.
Either the entire Word of the LORD is true or nothing of it is. There’s no this is true and that isn’t. And I am talking about the KJV1611. If you even believe one thing of His Word to be true, it is all tue. You just lack knowledge or faith to believe the rest of it.
Not even close. Just a man. But also a God in the flesh nontheles. Just like every single human being. Keep reading your fairlytale book. That you clearly know nothing about
@@LetsTalkMythologywell rhino's and horses are pretty closeley related, there also is an extinct species of rhinoceros called elasmotherium that had 1 large horn on its face like a unicorn.
I believe in the Oxford English dictionary, if you look up rhinoceros you get "see also: unicorn" and vice versa. Unicorns are real, magical one horned horses are mythology
Okay, maybe you can help me out. I was visiting my mother, who lives in the woods, and had a crazy dream. I was at war, a super soldier fighting, I think Russians in the frozen lands of Russia. My camp gets raided at night during a snow storm, and I somehow ended up escaping. On my way out, a little white pup kept barking at me so I had to grab it, cover its mouth so it doesn't give away my position while I sneak away and take it with me. The damn thing bit me so I let go of its mouth and it starts barking again sending the enemy to my location. I ended up dropping the dog and running but the thing kept following me and I had to kill the thing with my bare hands. I kept running for what seemed like hours until I came upon a random stone building in the snowy forest. As soon as I see this building with a huge, 40' open entrance and giant pillars, I hear movement all around me. Thinking it's the enemy, I run into this building. There were some windows in this one room 60' tall stone building. Through those windows, I see flashes of grey streaking across the openings. I was surrounded by a bunch of, looked like dire wolves. I had my back turned to the entrance when I felt like something was looking at me. I felt a heavy pressure, turned around and fell to a single knee as soon as I looked upon a giant glowing white wolf walking through the entrance of the building. It stood about half of the height of the entrance so around 20' tall. This giant glowing white wolf that brought me to a knee just walked to the right interior side of the doorway and sat there. About 2 seconds later, a pressure many times stronger hit me so hard I fell to both knees and my hands hit the floor. I felt so heavy I could barely hold my head up so I let it stay down because of the strain. It was already hard enough to stay on all 4's. A light started to light up the inside of the building, coming from the entrance. I ended up straining myself to look up and locked eyes with a 50' tall golden wolf with a mane that looks like it's on fire and shining like the sun. It was so tall it had to slightly crouch to enter the building. It walked right up to me and stopped. I couldn't look straight up because the pressure and I couldn't lift even a hand off the ground. It seemed like it was going to say something to me, but then my mom woke me up... do you think you might be able to help me find out who visited me in my dream?
@caolanochearnaigh9804 The weird thing was, I didn't feel any fear. It didn't feel like it was there to harm me, but more curious than anything. I felt more like a calming peace, like when you've been shoveling show all day in a blizzard and you come inside with a hot cup of tea and warm blanket waiting for you. At first, I thought that maybe that white dog thing could have been related to the others and still could have honestly. IDK, the heat giving off the Wolf wasn't a hot anger hear but a warming hug heat. It's hard to explain, sorry. It's one of those things that you can really only understand once you experience it.
i think its important to distinguish between "evil" and "chaos" leviathan isnt an evil creature, rather its a wild and untamable one who yeilds only to God...leviathan is meant to symbolize Gods Ferocity, his might and power. Behemouth is lonstanding and as trong as any mountain,a reflection of God's unweilding fortitude and Ziz ,the great king of birds whose wings stretch across the sky is a personification of Gods omnipresence, his glory, dominion and athority over all things. (hense its position as a mediator that keeps the other two in check)
3:37 1) 'Like a cedar' decribes the word 'sways' (in your selected translation) it's an adverb, not an adjective. 2) The word translated as 'tail' is a loan word into Hebrew which while literally means 'tail' in the language of origins is used as euphemism for the male appendage, and is thus more likely used the same way in Hebrew.
Actually it wasn't destroyed according to scripture not until the end and we isrealites enter into the kingdom for the feast. Also it tells you the leviathan is a sea dragon or sea monster or the great fish great whale. Fun fact Godzilla 2014 was created as a giant whale so yes a whale to us ain't the same whale to God. Whale just meaning giant in size a whale of a ship or a whale of idea. For example but yes its a giant dragon or they called it the Ketos
You do know leviathan was a metaphor for satin right? Also the behimoth was most likely a dinosaur. The unicorn was proven to be a rhino. Please stop Insulting the bible.
Some scholars suggest that its a Rhino, but again.. Rhinos don't have large tails that sway like a cedar (as it's described in the Bible). About Leviathan, yes I do agree with you that it's likely a whale or giant fish.
There's a Leviatan whale. It is said that scientist what going to call it straight up Leviathan, but another creature already had that in its name (don't know what) so they just changed the spelling. 😄
@@LetsTalkMythologyit happens sometimes that they miss interpret stuff, for example the european sailors that went to the america's thought the manatee's where mermaids.
