Biceps Deep Tendon Reflex Examination | Nursing Head to Toe Assessment 

Nursing head to toe assessment includes the deep tendon reflex examination of the biceps tendon (C5 to C6) with a reflex hammer. This nursing skills video will show you how to properly elicit a response in the biceps tendon by finding the tendon in the antecubitial fossa area of the elbow. An expected response of the bicep tendon is contraction of the bicep muscle and flexion of the forearm.
